About

I provide safe, confidential spaces for men to explore life's challenges when words are not enough.

I support individuals to make sense of distressing or confusing thoughts and feelings through the art-making process. I recognise that many men find putting their emotional difficulties into words extremely challenging; art therapy can provide expression and containment of powerful emotions such as fear, anger and grief. I create a spaces where these emotions can find form, working along side clients to explore the material that emerges through their artwork.

Through developing a secure therapeutic relationship, I support clients to explore early-life experiences, difficult life events, relationship challenges, and issues of identity – empowering individuals to move forward with their lives with greater meaning and deeper understanding. Sessions are always tailored to the unique needs and desires of the individual.

I am an HCPC registered art psychotherapist who has worked in men’s specific mental health services for over 8 years. I have experience delivering individual and group therapy to a range of client groups across psychiatric inpatient and community settings. I developed Bristol Men's Art Therapy Service in 2018, working with over 100 men; our new practice in Warmley is now open.

In addition to my work with BMATS, I work as an art therapist for the NHS, and deliver experiential lectures and talks to universities and organisations across the south-west of England.
