Alfredo, from Brilliant Electric, came to our house today to fix an electrical problem. We received a quote up front which was nice. Alfredo was amazing. Very professional and knowledgable. These guys seriously are awesome! We ordered a double oven from another company and were told they could install it no problem. Well, when they showed up with the double oven, it was quite the contrary. They told us it would be impossible to install a double oven where we wanted one. It was clear that Alfredo cares about quality and customer satisfaction. After I had called several other companies with no success on getting set up with an electrician. He was able to not only fit me in on a Friday afternoon but made it work around my schedule from picking up my kid from school. Alfredo was precise when trouble shooting my breaker panel, found the problem, fixed the problem and also spotted/prevented a possible future mishap. I can't say enough great things about Brilliant Electric, especially in regards to Chris, Alfredo and Alfonso. First the company called me back with in minutes of me calling them to see how they can help. I let them know the issue we were having of losing electricity to part of our house. Chris did a great job trouble shooting with me and giving me some ideas. The company went above and beyond by following up the next day. When I had no luck, he said he could have a crew out in a few hours. Alfredo and Alfonso showed up in less than two hours and we're both professional and respectful. Not only were they able to trouble shoot, but they were able to fix our issue and clean up prior to leaving even thought the job went into the evening. Their availability was quick and flexible, while not an emergency I needed it done asap.Had Alfredo come out to troubleshoot loss of power in a section of my home. He worked hard and efficiently, took longer than expected but I greatly appreciate the effort made and time spent. First off my disclaimer - I despise yelp. Seriously, I go by word of mouth since Yelp went to s#i! years ago. I am writing this review because I truly feel that this company deserves recognition no matter what medium you use. If you are like me, I cannot stand bigger companies that dominate the field and overcharge. Brilliant Electric is one of those smaller businesses that really goes the extra mile to ensure you are happy and properly taken care of. Alfredo has progressed through the ranks as an electrician and can do the "real electrical work" that a lot of others cannot or will change you ridiculous rates. Alfredo is fairly priced and excellent service. My story: had flickering lights and I was able to troubleshoot it down to being one circuit. I determined it was not a circuit breaker and could not find any loose connections. I finally had to break down and get an electrician out since the flickering was getting worse. Called Alfredo and he was pretty busy, but he asked about the problem and asked if he could swing by late afternoon/early evening - of course I asked if it cost more and he said "my rates are the same since you are accommodating me due to my schedule" - really? That is service! Him and another guy showed up and worked 3 hours on this problem and I can tell you it was not an easy find. It was a very simple fix but had to be troubleshot properly to ensure it was the problem. He even fixed another connection close by so that does not become a problem later. He stayed longer and did more than he needed to but he still charged me the quoted rate because he is a professional and cares!! I called Brilliant Electric this morning regarding an issue with an outlet in our garage. I spoke with Chris who was friendly and thorough in his gathering of information. He offered to call me later in the day to schedule a time to have a tech come out. As promised, he called and made arrangements for someone to come this afternoon. Alfredo was our tech and he was great: courteous, thorough and competent. Brilliant Electric did a great job in my home in Tierrasanta.  I wanted four ceiling fans with lights installed in the bedrooms and family room.  I also had an outlet installed in the bathroom for a bidet.  Alfredo and Luis did a great job.  They arrived promptly, worked quickly but carefully and kept the work area clean.  They cleaned up after themselves and asked me questions when there were options.  Drywall patching was kept to a minimum, which I appreciated very much.  These guys are pros and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them for future electrical projects! My husband and I are so glad we went with Brilliant Electric to fix our flickering lights issues. (Thanks Yelp reviewers) Alfredo did an outstanding job on getting to the bottom of our flickering lights problems! (Ended up being the light bulbs and fixture issue) after figuring out the problems he went out of his way to go buy a new fixture for us as well as getting the light bulbs replacements. He came back with Jose and did a fantastic job with installing the new fixture plus light bulbs in our gym room at no additional cost. OUTSTANDING JOB!  Returned my call right away. Showed on time.  A new room heater I had recently purchased knocked the power down in a whole circuit at my home.  They troubleshoot the circuit, meaning had to go up the attic and over every socket on the walls connected to the same circuit to find the lose connection.  They quickly found the problem which turned out to be in a box on the ceiling. The box was hidden from sight because it was patched like the rest of the ceiling. Whomever did the remodeled on the den decided to cover the electric box which is against code and also used the wrong nut to tie too many cables and as a consequence it melted the connector.  The electricians from Brilliant Electric pointed out the mistakes that were done and put everything back to code.They were very thorough and clean. They covered the entire room to protect it from the dust during the removal of the ceiling's drywall covering the electric box and put everything back together.  Before they left, they checked the breaker was appropriate for the load including the load of the new heater I had just purchased. I was very impressed by their attention to detail.Very friendly and professional. I have no hesitation recommending them and will call them again next time I need a GOOD electrician. More...

I used Home Advisors to find someone to fix a simple light switch. Only one company replied - Green Electric. He fixed the switch in just a few minutes for $120. Then he told me that my electric panel was dangerous and needed to be replaced immediately. I said I would get a second opinion and called Brilliant Electric after reading their Yelp reviews. Alfredo said he would be out Monday afternoon and showed up exactly when he said he would. After examining my electric panel, he and his assistant, Alex, said it does not need replacing. He showed me in detail how it was functioning and even cleaned it up and put some kind of lubricant on parts. They spent at least one half an hour doing this and refused to take any money. I insisted they take at least gas money, and Alfredo said to give it to Alex. I so appreciate their honesty and would definitely call them when I do need some work done. I cannot brag enough about Brilliant Electric!!! Alfredo and Alex are my heroes!!! Professional, knowledgeable, courteous and HONEST! !!! I've had 6 electricians come to my home to figure out the mystery of my circuit breakers and I've been told every story from the house needs a complete rewiring ($3,800) to replacing outlets to nothing is wrong with the breakers! It's hard trusting electricians these days.. If you are looking for someone you can trust this is the guy. Alfredo! Our AC fuse box had been broken for a few weeks. I called Brilliant Electrician and Alfredo answered the phone. He was very polite. I told him what was wrong and he gave me an estimate. But said he won't know until he sees the box and offered a free diagnosis. He was really busy but made sure to come out the same day to work on it. He was on time. After looking at the fuse box he was honest with me and told me how much it was going to cost to fix it. I appreciated his honesty since in the past I have had experiences when the electricians will start on the job and in the end give me a huge bill and kind of forcing me into paying. Not Alfredo, he was honest and straight forward with everything. He out bid the price of most electrician companies in the area by lot. One company  said the diagnosis alone would be $150 plus extra $150/hr which I thought it was ridiculous. Anyway back to Alfredo, he finished the job under 2hrs and even purchased a water bottle for me from Home Depot. Being in the service industry myself I understand that customer service in the #1 major key to any business and Alfredo did just that. He was professional, polite and knowledgeable. I even learned a few thing from him. I trust him so much now that I will not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to my friends. Alfredo and the other gentleman did a great job! I contacted Brilliant via the website link and he got right back to me on the phone. Alfredo put an estimate together and was able to set an appt to do the work very quickly. His estimate was fair and a lot lower than the other electricians quoted me. He is very professional, friendly, and has a "can do" attitude. The work that was done was installing can lighting, fan installation, adding an outdoor outlet, and installing a motion detector light. A MILLION STARS for Brilliant Electric! I had these fellows install a porch light and am delighted with the entire experience. They were as pleasant as they were competent, quick and professional. There was a complication with the fixture I chose and Alex volunteered to take it back to the store and exchange it for me just to save me the hassle of having to do that myself. Where to start? Well first and foremost Alfredo and Jose did a stellar job of removing my existing panel, mast and sub-panel and installing a new 200 Amp service. My project started when a large delivery truck from a national "home improvement" store hit my wires and pulled them down as well as bending the service mast. I called Brilliant Electric after checking the reviews and their State License. Alfredo was quick to assess the situation and provided a written cost competitive quote. We would remove the 100 Amp panel, sub-panel and service mast and install a new standard 200 Amp panel and service mast. This required a lot of coordination with SDG&E and we were low priority to SDG&E as there were many Solar Companies vying for time slots. Patience and persistence paid off and we managed a slot about 4 weeks after the damage had occurred vice the quoted 6 or 7 week wait. Alfredo handled all of the coordination and paperwork and arrived early on the first scheduled day. Because power was to be shut off, they made sure to provide temporary service to the refrigerator. Nice! The skills, knowledge and workmanship that Alfredo and Jose provided made the long wait well worth it. It is abundantly clear that they take pride in their work and do not do a rush job. They took time to carefully assess at each stage of dismantlement and new installation, and even patched the holes in the stucco better than any carpenter could do. Several neighbors watched this evolution over the next few days and were so impressed with the work they came over to ask Alfredo and Jose for business cards.As with any high quality and in demand business, time seems to be the only thing they are short on. So Alfredo worked from 7:00am to 9:00pm on the first day, and was here until 8:00pm on the second day. All to ensure everything was installed perfectly and the new panel circuits were fully documented to each and every switch and outlet in the house.That level of dedication and pride is hard to find these days, I will be calling Brilliant Electric for all of my future electrical needs. I chose Brilliant Electric to come install two new fixtures for ceiling fans in my home.  This was definitely a small job compared to some of the jobs described in the other reviews, but I definitely didn't feel like they treated me any differently.  Alfredo was great in setting up the appointment, detailing all the work that would be required and providing a cost breakdown for each portion.On the day of the install, Jose and Alex showed up promptly, went over some last minute details (switch and fixture placement, etc.) and then got to work.  The crew put down dropcloths and set up drop cloth screens to keep drywall chunks and dust from getting all over the place, which was great.  In the end, they did great a job and they left the house as clean as when they arrived.  Very satisfied with the service and their prices. This is not a scotch tape job.  These guys know what they are doing.  Professional Premiere  Custom Service, once you see the before and after you'll definitely be impressed.  The best part is they'll go out, survey the job, and give you a complimentary estimate.  Our office needed to have a lot of electrical work done, Brilliant Electric took the time to even point out and recommended to upgrade from a phone line to CAT5/6 Ethernet, if we are thinking of using VOIP for our business.  We've never had an electrician ever ask us about phone lines/VOIP before.  After the works is done, the guys patched all the drywall cutouts they did as well as texturing the walls so I can have the office ready for the painters.Like I said Brilliant Electric is a premiere company not just patch and go kind of work.   You'll get what you pay for and much much more.  Since they are local, if anything is needed after the job is done, they guarantee their work, and will send a tech out.Thanks Brilliant Electric :) More...

I highly recommend Brilliant Electric and fully support this local business owner. They did such a great job!! I was in need of an energy efficient plug for my eco-friendly dryer but naturally my 1950's North Park home did not have such a thing. I read Brillant Electrics reviews on Yelp and they had a killer deal so I contacted Alfredo last December. Life got super busy for me and sadly we had to cancel and reschedule our appointment over five times over the course of the past three months but Alfredo made sure to work with us and was kind through the process - something that's hard to find in the home service industry. He and his crew were on time, worked quickly, cleanly and efficiently and were done well ahead of schedule. Outstanding service! Alfredo was awesome. Here way my situation: It was the day before my housewarming party and I was fixing up some last minute things before the big day. I decided it would be a good idea to change out a few electrical outlets - in hindsight, NOT a very good idea the day before I will have over 30 guests in my home.  I was changing the last outlet in the bathroom and hit a snag. I couldn't get the light to come on. I frantically called a bunch of electricians and finally got through to Alfredo. It was too short of notice to get someone out to my house, but Alfredo walked me through the process over the phone! We figured out a wire was broken and that took care of it.
