I came across Bricks & Pieces on an internet search and found what I read on their internet page very interesting as I have never been involved in home extension work before.
Paul visited our property with colourful brochures and delivered an excellent sales pitch, telling us how busy they were and that we will be the last clients they will be taking on because they are so busy. It was all very encouraging.
Our project was a single storey extension at the rear following the demolition of an existing extension. The proposed design looked good and we were full of excitement however, once planning was accepted we didn't hear anything for months. The lack of communication became fairly stressful and the excitement and talk of the new extension began to diminish.
Pauline and Cheryl were excellent at responding to my emails but Paul did not respond to any, it was as if he was not interested. Naively I paid for the ' gold service ' which included finding the right builder at the right price. When Paul started to discuss information we had settled on two months previous I realised how gullible I had been as our project had obviously been put on the back burner.
Once I cut my losses I decided to find a builder on a reputable website that finds quality local tradespeople, reviewed by other homeowners. Ironically Bricks & Pieces were one of the first to respond to my advertisement, needless to say they were swiftly rejected.
I'm writing this review in the comfort of my new extension and will be leaving my builder responsible for it all another glowing five star review. I recommend you don't make the same mistake as me and pay for any optional additional services, its not needed, there are plenty of tradespeople out there who will take an interest in your project and make sure it runs smoothly.

I am a happy man tonight I have just attended the Heatons and Reddish area committee meeting in Stockport Town Hall (8th April 2019) with Paul my designer at Bricks and Pieces. I had applied for planning permission to build a new two bedroom detached dwelling in Heaton Moor. Other designers advised me that we would not obtain planning permission on the plot. Paul agreed to take on the project he said working with Stockport Planners was the way to go and not ignore their advise. The planners supported my application and Paul spoke on my behalf to the committee. Tonight we gain the support of the committee and my application was granted. Paul is now going to obtain building regulation approval and is finding me a builder from his network at the right price to build my new house. The whole experience from initial contact to finished build was exceptional...stressless (for us, apart from having to clear a well-filled garage to make space!!) and straightforward.Having the problems of sourcing builders, supplies, drawing up plans etc all taken off our hands and dealt with so efficiently. The builders who were recommended were dream to work with ...always on time, cleared up each day as best as work would allow, and always explaining to us what they were doing at every stage of construction. So too for the electrician, tiler and plasterer.Having access to Trade Discount for fixtures and fittings helped the budget no end allowing us to be able to have what we really wanted and not having to make do with second best.So once again, THANKYOU, for everything ...you've made my dream come true.Sylvia More...

I have been liasing with Bricks and Pieces on residential development project in Manchester, I am based in London so have wanted to use someone more knowledgable of the local builders and prices. Paul and the team have been brilliant so far, drawing have come back quickly and to the designs I wanted. Thank You Bricks and Pieces for all your help.I wanted to extend my property and had different companies round to see me. Paul came around from Bricks & Pieces and his presentation was so different . He showed me on his Ipad designs in 3D and even advised me of how much the building costs might be. What surprised me is he then showed options of how to increase the number of bedrooms bymoving internal walls, meaning I might not even have to build the extension. Free good advice and very helpful. I was looking to rebuild a current extension on my property, after a few calls a builder advised me to have some plans drawn up. After searching on google I come across Bricks and Pieces, so I sent them an email that evening. The very next day Cheryl replied to my enquiry and I called her to arrange a consultation. This evening Paul Bradley come round for a chat, after looking over the current extension and listening to our ideas he basically talked himself out of job. He explained how we could save ourselves thousands by making some changes to the current extension. He has offered to get in touch with some builders and explain to them what we need doing and to offer us guidance on the parts of the work by husband can do himself. Great service from Bricks and Pieces. A few years ago we had our loft converted and really pleased with the job from start to finish, and more recently we had a BIG kitchen extension which is now complete and has literally transformed our house.
On both projects Bricks and Pieces offered great advice and design, and worked with us flexibly on this - they listened to us and turned the designs around quickly and efficiently. They then project managed the entire build with their recommended builders. Both projects were completed on time and more importantly on budget.
Well done to Paul and the team, we would definitely recommend them to all.
