I have been wanting to try this place for awhile now and finally got a chance to try it today with my fiancée. We went for breakfast and we didn't have to wait long. We got seated right away because we went a little earlier to beat the brunch rush. I got the pastrami with eggs and my fiancée got the corned beef hash with eggs. The food came out right away and everything was really good. The staff was very attentive and made sure that we were taken care of. We definitely want to go back to try the sandwiches. If you are going then you should try to go a little earlier to beat the brunch or lunch rush. More...

The Pastrami Reuben is as good as any of the top deli's in NYC or BH.  I don't have to drive all the way to Nate & Al's !!

I have tried this deli over the years & recently I am getting Chopped Liver every 3 days as my Hemaglobin and is very low and I want boost it before my next lab tests. I want to avoid tests being done if it remains low. I am using. My son Loves the Chinese Chicken Salad from here, and I agree. He alters between this salad & sandwiches from a health food store Sprouts. The Matzah Ball Soup is without a doubt the best I have ever had, because there is no canned chicken in it and the matzah balls are simply delicious while very plain. Both of these are not smothered in Dill, parsley or whatever is in most soup. Please someone tell where to get the best chopped liver with the exception being homemade. Brents's deli in Northridge in on the  top 10 list of this dish inLA.  First I wonder why chicken liver is never used. The aftertaste would be milder. I have been getting it from here lately and it does have a strong aftertaste. I always request No Onion, or olives & fresh tomatoes please. I make changes to rid the aftertaste but the Onions are too much. The tomatoes on this dish are often green & I know because I get PERFECTLY Delicious tomatoes when I place an order for on Egg Benedict at the same time.To make the liver milder and more tasty I do add mayo, mustard, equal, cherry jam, with mayo & butter on toast points & top it with warn noodle kugel. It is a perfect bite.  The Noodle Kugel is the best I have ever had & I love that there are no raisins. The crunch cereal on pin top is ok but not necessary.  I must acknowledge 3 people's best chopped liver. ABBA Harry, who really raised all or kids, grandma,Serena from Poland, who survived Auschwitz at age 15, & Rachel who suffered through  the war in Germany. The ladies are no longer with us but each left a place in my heart on past lovely holidays especially when abba & Serena would fight for hours over who was the better cook. It was a tie. I really did love the wonderful smells in the house with yelling with a distinct Polish accent, while our little kids at the time rocked on that old ugly orange swing chair, which I inherited. Great comfy chair. Have a great night. More...

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way up the coast. Oh my! Our sandwiches we're delish- so tasty and satisfying! Also, our server brought out a cinnamon roll for us to share, and it was an amazing treat. Evidently the kitchen makes a batch every hour or so, and passes them out to guests. Next time we will call ahead and order a dozen to go! More...

Whats not to love about Brent's, if you're a vegan, probably quite a bit. Since i eat meat, and have a penchant for cured beef, Brent's deli never does me wrong. Is it health, probably not, depending on your order. Can it be a bit crowed, YES, its one of the only decent delis in the valley, hell, even most of LA. (Yeah i know canters is the original)If you're looking for a blast from the past, true jewish deli americana experience look no further, you wont be disappointed... unless you're cheap. Don't come here looking to pinch pennies. It's not 1939 anymore they can't give you 8oz's of brisket on rye for 15cents. So if you don't like triple decker club sandwiches, nitrate and sodium infused beef piled high on twice baked rye, motzaball soup, or rugala JUST GO SOMEWHERES ELSE.  Jokes aside, I'm sure they make a decent salad. And even, i, have tried their grilled chicken. Which while maybe not exactly note worthy, definitely wasn't awful. More...

I haven't had a chance to eat at Brent's but this is in regards to their catering service.  I ordered their medium fruit platter.  The ordering process was quick, they replied within a few hours & was able to prepare a beautiful tray of fruit that everyone at our daughter's event enjoyed!  The fruit was fresh & sweet!  It was the perfect service experience all around!  My next stop is to try the breakfast at Brent's!  We will return!  Thank you Brent's for making our event a special one! This is the REAL DEAL!Had to drive 3 miles from our home for a doctor's appt and a friend recommended we eat lunch at Brents.  It is located in a business park.  My husband and i both had the pastrami sandwich with potato salad.  Lucily we orded the half sandwich with comes with choice os potato salad or cole salw and choice of soup or salad.  The sandwich came piled high with the most lean, tender pastrami I've ever had.  They bake the bread themselves.  Double baked rye bread.  They brought pickles to the table and the mustard was delicious.  The service was fast and efficient.  I will not mind this trip at all if my husband needs to see this Dr. again.  Try it, you'll love it! Think about a restaurant that has been around since 1967 and you say how did they do it? Brent's is one such place. They have a formula that they have not deviated in all these years great food-great service and the attention to the details. There menu of smoke fish to mouth watering favorites like corn beef-pastrami-brisket takes you back to another time. Matzoh ball soup that melts in your mouth to breakfast favorites anytime of the day. There are so many memorable dishes that make every visit special. If you are having a get together you have all of these delivered to your home for another memorable event. I can go on and on but you have to experience it to enjoy the same as countless others have since 1967. Amazing that this jem has been tucked away in a little strip center since 1967. You will for sure be a regular after your first visit.Irwin Z More...

Everything went smoothly!Food: I ordered chicken soup, matzah ball, mashed potatoes, & white and black cookie (delicious)Let me just say that THEY THROW DOWN IN THAT KITCHEN! The chicken soup was bomb. The matzah ball was fresh and perfect. My roommate enjoyed the big a$$ cookie. It was like cake (not dried out lol). I will say that their mashed potatoes have dairy (beware if you are lactose intolerant).Heads up: no gluten free options. So be careful if you have flare ups easily (I didn't know I'd have a flare up.)Overall: authentic, delicious food. Best deli food in The Valley! More...

Brent's is such a legend it almost feels like a sacrilege to not give it 5 stars. So to get my minor quibbles out of the way: it is expensive for this type of food, breakfast isn't their strong point, and the waits can be very long if you actually come at normal lunch or dinner times. On the positive side: solid pastrami and corned beef sandwiches, excellent matzo ball soup, good hearty cabbage soup, and especially love those free pickles. Portions are large. With most of the sandwiches, they offer cole slaw or potato salad, and to be honest both are mediocre. It's still one of the better delis in the L.A. area, and there is nothing close to as good deli-wise in Northern California (oh how I missed Brent's when I lived up there!). More...

We dined at Brent's in Westlake Village three times in the last week.  Our food was excellent all three times and exactly what we expected.  Our biggest surprise was the quality of the assistants to the servers.  It was the assistants who made the meals perfect.  One of the assistants, Simon must have had eyes in the back of his head.  Our beverages never ran out and I ended up having three glasses of ice tea and my husband had three colas.  The Pastrami Reuben was as good as always, my mother loved her cheese blintzes and my husband had the 555 on one visit and the Brisket and Ortega grilled sandwich on an other vist and loved both.  We were happy with our food and delighted with the great service.
