Absolutely amazing! Steve was the only trainer I spoke to who didn't want to train my 2 Lakeland Crosses separately. They pulled me through his door as unruly teenagers and left as maturing adults walking to heel - and this was their first session! ! Today I had my first 121 session with Steve and my 5 month old working cocker spaniel- what an absolutely fantastic experience it was! In as little as an hour Steve showed me what I was doing wrong and how to correct my dog and her behaviour without using treats- but by still using all positive methods of training! After 10 mins my spaniel was walking to heel and listening to my every command. Fantastic service, would highly recommend! Breckland Training sessions are a 60 mile round trip but worth every mile. The facilities reflect the professionalism of the training. Steve appears to quickly assess the needs of dog and owner to achieve the desired behaviours for the long term. I particularly appreciate the depth of his knowledge which he freely shares. After wasting time and money on a dog trainer whose answer to everything was to use high value treats. I contacted Steve in desperation. I was amazed at the way my dogs responded to him instantly. He showed me how to correct my dogs behaviour without a treat in sight. It was so simple, yet so effective and Steve is very easy going and made me feel relaxed. I attend weekly classes with Steve with both my Cocker Spaniels, they have moved on with their training immensely in this time, but I have struggled at home and on walks with the excitement and noise from one of them. Steve visited at home and within minutes had highlighted things we could be doing to help. By the time he left both my dogs were happy and relaxed and over the next few days my confidence has increased so that I am able to take them both for walks together, and not find the levels of excitement and noise too much. We have a long way to go, nothing with dogs is easy or quick, but with a new found calm approach I am now learning how to pass this on to my dogs. More...

I have been training my two spaniels with Steve for some time, however although obedience has come on leaps and bounds one of them has always been 'vocal' . This has become such a problem I had Steve visit our home. Within minutes he had highlighted numerous things that were making him worse, then worked out ways to avoid any noise and excitement indoors, enabling me to now leave the house in peace and continue my walk in this manner. Just want to thank Steve for our lesson yesterday, our wish was for our 8 month old sprocker spud to learn some manners, polish up his commands, stop pulling on the lead and general obedience. I can’t believe how much of a difference I’ve seen even after 1 day and putting the techniques into practice, not only is spud happier walking in his new collar and lead but I am more confident walking him also I can’t wait to practice more Steve was so patient and understanding and explained everything we needed to know perfectly ! Absolutely fantastic, kind, funny and knowledgeable trainer!!At last I've found a dog trainer who actually understands the problems I have and has been able in just one session to give me the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with mine and my dogs recall issues. Steve has a fun but firm approach with dogs and owners! and I can't thank him enough. I have tried other trainers and always been left deflated with no positive results. Steve visited us at home and within half an hour our adorable but ‘uncontrollable’ cockapoo was behaving as Steve requested. Steve spent time explaining how we, as his parents, need to change our behaviour to help our dog to learn how to behave. Met with Steve last week with my one year old black lab who has started pulling on lead so much that I dreaded taking him on a walk if he needed to be on a lead. within 5 minutes of Steve taking over Denzel was walking to heal. I actually sat in amazement watching and couldn't believe it was my dog. After finding the correct collar, and techniques. I followed Steve's advice and couldn't believe that just after an hour session Denzel is now walking to heal. I'm now enjoying our walks and training together again thanks to the helpful friendly advice I was given. will definitely be looking into further training with Steve in the near future and highly recommend to anyone needing some help training their dogs. My dog and I had an amazing experience with Steve today at Breckland dog training. In less than 1 hour my dog has stopped pulling on walks and will heal without pulling on the lead. My 2 year old lab Albus has always pulled hard on walks making them stressful and not enjoyable at all. I'd tried another training course about 6 months ago, but I just couldn't transfer what they were teaching to the outside world of smells and distractions. So I booked a 1-2-1 session because Albus gets distracted by other dogs and I needed the time to focus purely on the techniques. Well, Steve had my dog walking like a true gundog within 10 minutes of me arriving! I was stunned but ecstatic! I loved just how brilliant Steve was with my boy and a few minutes later I was walking Albus inside and outside just how I wanted; calm and on my terms. It was such a calm session with everything explained and no flippin clickers and treats to juggle with the lead. I'm now practising the simple techniques every day and can't thank Steve enough. I will go back soon to discuss the raw food diet we discussed briefly and for a few extra group lessons because I want to work with Albus around other dogs. Let's see what else he can do! Attended my first 1-2-1 with my two pomsky girls today. I am SO happy that I took the plunge, overcame my scepticism and met with Steve. Training with my girls had been fun but the returns and good behaviours were starting to diminish. I realised that I must be doing something incorrectly. SO much information available. SO many trainers to offer miracles. How do you choose? Contact Steve. Steve is fantastic! We have recently got a 4 month old puppy who has already begun disregarding her treat based training. We had our first 1-2-1 session today with Steve, with our 2 cross Staffie's, main reason, constant pulling on the lead and recall. Today we focused on the ' pulling ' side of things with Steve giving us clear and precise advice and demonstrating his methods, within 15 minutes our dogs had improved tremendously. Having walked the dogs ourselves this afternoon the difference after one session is remarkable. We look forward to our next session with Steve in 2 weeks time, and would highly recommend Steve for his knowledge and expertise...so happy that i found Breckland Dog Training. More...

Steve has worked wonders with my 5 year old rescue collie cross. After two 121 sessions she has progressed to group classes and in just 4 weeks I have a new dog.
She has gone from being nervous and unpredictable around other dogs,to having the confidence in me to deal with situations she was previously nervous in. She is learning to relax and starting to enjoy the company of other dogs with the bonus of better behaviour both on and off the lead.
