The Academy has a great welcoming family atmosphere...a positive place to learn kids and adult jiu Jitsu. (and a burn out cardio class for adults) Ninja is not only a wonderful teacher but an encouraging role model. Overall, a great place to be!

I remember first moving to KC in 2005 and all of us training together at the KC police academy. Even then Ninja was helping others learn and sharing the arts. Top notch! I am so impressed with the Brazil Academy! Our kids trained BJJ in TX when we moved to KS we looked at various schools for 7 months before we found Brazil Academy. The others do not even compare to the excellence of the Brazil Academy. From a parent who searched and searched for a good and quality place for our kids to take BJJ the Brazil Academy is it! The thing that sticks out most: attention to detail in every aspect of this facility. One of the cleanest training environments you'll ever find. Even the details of the locker room, down to the stylish shower heads, are tasteful, functional and ridiculously tidy. Brazil Academy boasts the best schedule I've encountered in a martial arts facility. I can't conceive of a work or life schedule that would prevent a person from consistently attending at least 3 days a week. As far as instruction, that attention to detail is again evident. Classes are structured, productive and cooperative. I speak as a person who lacks a lot of the natural talents that make for great grapplers, but every single session I walk out just a little better and with a better concept of the techniques instructed and drilled. Finally, price. I'll just put plainly: for what Brazil Academy provides, the rates are a bargain. Basically within the normal range for martial arts/physical fitness facilities but with all those added benefits that come from very thoughtful, efficient and intelligent planning. I've been a part of the Brazil Academy family for about 5 years. I refer to it as a family, because that's what it is. It starts at the top Ninja and his family and his warmth and openness radiates out to everyone who comes into the door, spreads to others in the organization, creating that family atmosphere. There is a strong desire to teach and see people improve from top to bottom. Dropped in for a Saturday class while passing through and left very impressed. Fantastic facilities with a Muay Thai room, a BJJ room, a Capoeira studio, and I was even able to finish with an Acai Bowl afterwards in their nice little cafe area! There was a large locker room with modern lockers and 3 showers. I was warmly welcomed and not even charged a drop in fee. The noon class was paced great and I learned two new techniques from the brown belt teaching on passing leg lasso. I've been training BJJ for many years. I was visiting Kansas City and trained at Brazil Academy several times. Ninja and his crew were very welcoming and generous. Their facility is top-notch.
