How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
All garages are suitable for conversion , some are straightforward and others require Engineering input, generally a cavity wall garage is likely to be more straightforward to convert than a single brick type. The exception is a stand alone sheet clad garage which is not suitable.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
In most cases planning consent is not required unless you plan to extend it to a two story height. Building regulations will be necessary which is a simple process with a fixed fee from the relevant Building Control department.
Simple designs with a garage that has cavity walls will be dealt with by us, if single walls exist then we will engage structural engineers to design the necessary structural changes.
How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Generally speaking , all roofs can be converted into living Accomodation , but a truss roof will need to be totally removed, if you have a traditional hand built roof with just purliins supporting the rafters , then this type can be used , and would not require replacement.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
Firstly the roof and building are surveyed,, architect and engineers produce a design, building regulations and if necessary planning consent my by be required.
in many cases scaffolding is erected and depending on the design of the conversion, scaffold tents are erected over the roof in preparation for roof coverings to be removed. Temporary protection of the inside if the property is carried out the work on the conversion commences

After working many years for large building companies I came to realise the benefit of working with customers to build bespoke properties and be in a position to be very flexible with each project, which I could never do with large companies
