From initial planning, to set-up, to execution - Vince and his team took care of everything, and made sure the process was as smooth and worry-free as possible! They were true professionals at every step. On Wedding Day/Night, everything worked out perfectly, and music/audio/speeches were never a concern. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ and Photo Booth attendant. They cued the music at the right spots and did nice transitions into other songs! Vince and Steve were great to work with, helped make our special day awesome. The provided us a music itinerary to make our life easy in planning out which songs we wanted to play at each moment of our ceremony. They had mics available and even had an electric acoustic hookup so we could have a family member play something during our ceremony. They played great music all night and happily took any requests. We had the pleasure of Vince Boyd DJ’ing our wedding. Please take a minute to read about our experience. Going into wedding planning, one of our main priorities was hiring a good DJ. After being to some weddings that had subpar DJs, we realized how it important it was to pick a good one for ours. We wanted someone who could read a room and know which types of songs to play to get people out on the dance floor and keep them there. We wanted someone who can actually mix music and transition from song to song, nothing is worse than dead air during a wedding reception. Most importantly we wanted someone confident with a big personality and presence, who could create a fun energetic atmosphere. Vince Boyd checked all these boxes with ease. He took all of our anxieties away on our big day, we just let him do his thing and he did not disappoint. We provided a playlist of songs we wanted played that day, and Vince took that and made it as if it was his own. He made sure to play our songs but also mixed in others that he knew would fit the vibe. Our guests constantly came up to us that night saying how good the music was. Five minutes before our ceremony we had a sudden change of plans and now needed a song to play while we signed the wedding documents. I had literally a minute to explain this to Vince and he told me to relax and he’ll take care of it. His experience and professionalism showed big time, as our ceremony went flawlessly and beautifully. What I hope you take away from this review, is that if you’re looking for a DJ for a wedding or any other event, your search is done now. This was some of the best money we’ve ever spent. Vince was such a hit at our wedding at the Calgary Zoo this summer! He acted as our MC and was brief and to the point with instructions which was great for our large number of guests. He kept the dance floor full until we got shut down. We noticed that he really tailored the music picks to the demographic of the dance floor and didn't hesitate to take requests and play them at appropriate times. For example, the kids held down the dance floor for quite some time but then started to tire and the dancing dwindled, and all of a sudden I looked up and the dance floor was full of the older crowd dancing along to their favourites! To be honest we sort of expected the photobooth to be a bit cheesy...but it was a HUGE hit. Tons of fun props and the kids and adults all had a blast with this and it made for such a fun party. Boyd Entertainment did a tremendous and amazing job at providing DJ services and a Photo Booth for our wedding reception at Heritage Park. Vince and Brandon did a stellar job at engaging guests in dancing and having fun taking photos. They were organized, officiant and tremendously professional while also being part of the party. Vince played the requested songs from our guests and from our list of music. Brandon and the Photo Booth gave out good quality printed photos that were personalized with a frame with our (bride and groom) names and the date. From the beginning of planning for our big day, Vince was prompt, knowledgable and quick at responding to questions which made having them as our entertainment company easy and frankly took the stress off our plate and made it something that we did not have to worry about. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for an entertainment company to elevate their event.
