Best burger in Bend. Hands down. And for $8 with fries on happy hour... I would call it the best restaurant deal in town. It's so hard to run a restaurant and get everything right. The drinks were a delightful surprise -- they were actually fantastic. I got a gin drink and my lady got a margarita. They were both exquisitely balanced with citrus, sweetness (not cloying) yet were semi-dry in taste. We were both very impressed. The bartender was young, as was much of the front of house crew, and they all seemed to work well together. We ordered ribs, and they were some of the best I've had since I was a little kid. The two of us ate the entire stack they were so good. The bbq sauce wasn't overwhelming, and wasn't slathered on so you could actually appreciate the taste of the meat. Yet another surprise was the delicious slaw that accompanied the ribs. It was lightly dressed with something tangy. The kale Caesar salad was interesting as well: avocado + sunflower + pecorino. Yes consider the Brussels sprouts if you want leftovers or are dining with 3+. Like other folks said, the Brussels portion was generous to say the least. But if the only complaint is that their were too many, that's not a bad thing at all. Good job Boxwood crew. Running a restaurant ain't easy, and it's impossible to please everyone, all the time. Love the variety on the menu! Have been here twice in the last few months and have enjoyed the food both times. We really enjoy sitting outside, but inside has a nice ambience also. I'm giving Boxwood a 4 because I have HAD great experiences here and I hope they step it up again. The first few times I was there I was blown away by everything from food, cocktails, and service. .though a little slow to get food the atmosphere was nice enough I didn't mind. Don't go here if ur looking for a quick bite.Since my first few times going it seems as though they maybe lowered the quality of food they have bought and lowered their portions. Their Brussels sprouts used to be these delicious tiny little pop-in-your-mouth-candy-like brussles....last 3 times I have ordered them they have been too big to even fit in my mouth, ripping them apart and not getting nearly as much flavor I have been left so disappointed. The Korean chicken seems to get smaller and smaller portions every time I have it also no longer served with the side it used to have which was great. The burger has been amazing every time. That is worth getting! I write this to say GO HERE!!! It's my favorite place to take guests one of my favorite spots. I also write this in hopes boxwood can continue to grow and get better instead of worse which has become my fear. This is a restaurant I want to stick around hopefully the last 3 visits were flukes! We had our anniversary dinner here and can't say enough about the evening. Thank you for the complimenatry glass of champagne to start( this was a great touch). The dinner rolls with fondue were absolutely delicious way to start, a must every time. We then moved in to the gnocchi with chicken and Bolognese dish both were outstanding and savory. So we decided to go to the boxwood kitchen for Father's Day brunch.  First off the decor was very nice it had more of an industrial farmhouse vibe to it.  We started off with ordering Bloody Mary's that was supposedly scratch made with all the Fixin's. Just so you know my expectations are a little high when it comes to Bloody Mary's. So I was kind of disappointed when I saw them grab a bottle of V-8 and smell it. Was the V-8 bad? And is that considered scratch made? Well, I still had high hopes for the Bloody Mary. When they deliver the Bloody Mary's to us I was sad. I guess when it says all the fixin's that means an olive and a lime wedge and a lemon wedge. I tried the Bloody Mary,  it was just OK. I decided to give the rest of my Bloody Mary to my husband.  The food on the other hand, was excellent! My husband ordered the special for the day which was an omelette  which I believe had bacon and sausage inside along with fried potatoes. I ordered the tuna albacore bowl and that was very good. The tuna was lightly seared and the dressing was light and tasty. I would definitely order that again.  The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful.  Overall our experience at Boxwood Kitchen was a good one. Service was great in the beginning.  Ordered 3 appetizers.  2 of them were ok. Shrimp cocktail was really bad. Rubbery.  Some large shrimp , combination of tiny shrimp . I travel across the US 200+ days a year and this is one of the best brunches I have had in a minute. Unique, fresh, perfect portion size and absolutely delicious. I had the polenta and eggs. Two perfectly poached eggs atop of a creamy polenta base with mushrooms, tomatoes, homemade sausage and a “secret” red sauce. The blend of texture and flavors were phenomenal. Each bite tasted a little different as the, whatever creamy sauce they used, sunk into the bowl blending everything together into perfection! Well done! Boxwood is easily one of the best restaurants in Bend -- the food is truly delicious, cocktails are both original and excellent, and the service is outstanding. The atmosphere is a blend of upscale and casual, making it a good choice for nearly any occasion, and the format is flexible -- order your own meal, or share several of the small plates they offer. This lovely new restaurant in Bend checked all of the boxes. Great atmosphere, great service, and incredible food! Fantastic food and friendly service. I had the steak and it was wonderful. Full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The potato was fun and delicious although, perhaps a bit dry (if I had to be picky). My boyfriend had the ribs and they were equally tasty with beans... which were unexpectedly cold (intentionally) but quite yummy. Can’t wait to explore morbid the menu (albeit a bit limited).
