After nearly 30 years of experience riding I feel I am qualified to give a well informed review of Borne Vale Stables. I have frequented many riding schools in this time, all over the country and I can honestly say I wish I had stumbled upon Borne Vale sooner! The minute I walked into the yard nearly 2 years ago I instinctively knew it was the place I could learn a huge amount from. The calibre of teaching is fantastic, the instructors are well qualified; knowledgable; professional; friendly; and above all else care for their clients. As you get older you become more inhibited and self aware as a rider and for me the biggest factor with choosing Borne Vale was that I immediately felt and knew that I was in safe hands. Of course riding is an unpredictable sport and accidents will inevitably happen, but I could tell every precaution is taken to minimise this risk to the rider. The riding school horses are all great, another observation when purusing the premises and watching lessons in action before I jumped back in the saddle myself. They are well cared for, selected with due diligence and loved. The staff know the horses and ponies inside out and this is probably the reason one feels so safe there, because they know the animals temperaments and can match rider's experience and competency level to the horses well. All staff are great with any level of rider and I love to arrive half an hour early before I ride to watch the childrens' group lesson as they are so much fun to observe (and given my predilection for nostalgia it's a great evocation of memories). I am lucky enough to benefit from the knowledge and talents of two of their great instructors Sarah (predominantly) and Denise (occassionally) and both are absolutely fantastic. I feel extremely blessed to have stumbled across such a wonderful establishment so close to home.So in conclusion to my soliloquy, whether you're a complete beginner and never been on a horse before or this is far from your first rodeo experience, but still want to learn then Borne Vale Stables is certainly the place for you! I throughly recommend Bournvale Riding Stables . I have recently started riding again after many years and was a little nervous but after my first lesson here all my nerves went . The riding instructors are amazing and my instructor put me at ease straight away. I feel that my confidence has grown so much , the staff are so friendly and welcoming . I was very disappointed to see the very negative comments from Mr Britain. I have been riding at Bournevale Stables for quite a few years and have learnt so much through the patience and experience of my instructor (Peter). I enjoy myself so much I now go twice a week. The total experience of riding at Bournevale is exceptional, the staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly and the horses are extremely well looked after. In my time there I have taken part in dressage competitions (did better than I thought I would) and even tried my hand at jumping. I also volunteer with two Riding for the Disabled Groups which meet at Bournevale and the horses we use are so well behaved with our young disabled riders (of which my daughter Nicola is one). I have been riding at Bourne Vale for almost 5 years and could not recommend them highly enough. I have loved all of my lessons both private and group. I have always felt like I am continually learning new things and improving as a rider. Denise has taught me so much and I always feel safe in her hands. There is a good variety of horses for all levels of experience and the staff are friendly and welcoming.There are also activities for riding club members as well as social events where I have made great friends.Most importantly the horses are so loved and well cared for by everyone. I came to Bourne Vale riding stables from a trekking centre 7 years ago, and thought that I could ride. It was only after a couple of lessons under Denise’s instruction, that I realised how little I actually knew! Bourne Vale is an excellent riding school, and has a wide variety of horses and ponies to cater for all abilities, and the staff to suit any individual. They work tirelessly to maintain the standards required for a first class establishment, and it shows!My instructor Denise is an exceptional teacher, who has the ability to tailor each lesson to suit my needs and interests. Her knowledge and experience of the horses is second to none. I feel my lessons are challenging and interactive, whilst still being fun and enjoyable. Her teaching methods are exemplary!I’ve also had the opportunity to work alongside the staff, assisting with stable management, and have witnessed first-hand how well the horses are cared for. My name is Pat.I am a novice rider who totally lost my confidence after having a fall and a horse with a mind of her own.My husband booked me a surprise lesson to get me back in the saddle as I kept talking myself out of get on my own horse never mind another horse .I have now had four GREAT lesson's at Bourne Vale Stables, I have grown in confidence with not only my riding but with my own horse and I am loving it!!!The staff are super friendly, welcoming, are very helpful they are also very understanding to my nerves. My instructor does not push me to do anything I am still uncomfortable with, my lesson is set at a pace I can deal with and stay within my comfort zone for the whole of my lesson.The horses are so well looked after and loved by many, the stables always look clean and the horses look happy to be in their home. The grounds are maintained.I would recommend Bourne Vale Stables wholeheartedly to any who is just starting to ride or like me need a boost in confidence. it's a great place to go and a pleasure visit. I started riding at bourne vale at 9years old & continued to ride there for 6years. I had a gap due to having my own horse, then work commitments, after 13years I have now gone back & have a weekly private lesson & have been doing so for over a year & I will continue to do so. A really super riding school. We’ve been attending for a couple of months, bringing a young man with a learning disability, Ben the instructor has been calm, encouraging and extremely positive when teaching new skills to this young man. The horses are beautifully kept and the surroundings in which they ride are well maintained and clean. Fantastic stables with excellent tuition. My daughter has been riding here for the past 4-5 years and she thoroughly enjoys her lessons every week. I watch her confidence grow from lesson to lesson.
