We are foodies and this was one of the great dinners of our lives. We were treated like old friends from the moment we arrived (late) till the moment we left (bearing chocolates, cake and a giant loaf of sourdough as gifts). I never liked monkfish, but their preparation was incredible. From beginning to end, the meal was masterful and the presentation astounding. A truly memorable anniversary dinner. More...
It's been a while since I've been impressed with fine dining; Bouley at Home hit the spot.First, unlike the best restaurant in Quebec City, B@H read the reservation requests & honoured them. The service, from the greeter to the host, to the maitre d, servers, bidders--all pleasant, polite, helpful. It's kind of weird when you expect shitty service as "that's how NYC is", but the reality is that the great places work hard to make sure your experience is incredible. The menu was interesting--3 or 5 course, the test kitchen for Boulay's other restaurants. It's decorated as "your rich, old in-law's place that may be an antebellum manor sinking into the ground"--you're at the safe place near the kitchen w/copper pots. We had the sea urchin, 5 or six layers of flavors and textures exploding together. It's something you'd like to have when you wake up Durham by a couple's retreat--the Tart apple & lime wake you up, the urchin energizes, and the fluff & everything else is just fun.The flan was more of a rich soup--unctious, perfectly balanced by the crispy pistachio-buckwheat GF toast. Their take on duck l'orange: I liked it. Every other time I've order anything BUT Chinese bbq duck from the asian market or confit in Provence, it's been dry, stringy, over cooked, or made to taste like ham. Here? Tender, crunchy skin, tart kumquat sauce & prunes. Even my husband agreed--delicious.The beef cheeks might have been in a thicker sauce; the kitchen had to modify many dishes due to my dairy allergies, some this may have been the cause. Did we clear out the bowl anyway? Yes. With an extra slice of baguette. This place is rather amazing when it comes to allergies and sensitivities--I'm fairly certain the vacherin was paleo. Yep--sugar free, dairy free, gluten free, with frozen, smooth, crunchy, sweet, sour, fluffy. WOW.2x3-course meals +2 glasses of wine, $160 incl tax bf tip (I've spent more for burgers & onion rings in NY). Will definitely return. More...
Absolutely wonderful experience! We had 7 course dinner, it was delicious! Staff was friendly and welcoming, ambiance was pleasant. Overall we had awesome evening.
The Bouley teams’ passion for great food, wine and dining experience, and their ability to deliver upon that passion so effectively makes Bouley at Home a very special place. My husband and I discovered Chef David Bouley in 2010 when visiting New York and have been huge fans since. His earlier location was very special, with a classic European charm. His new location is contemporary and it’s refreshing to come for a great meal and for men not have to wear a jacket, particularly in the summer. Chef Bouley creates creative, wonderfully balanced dishes that bring out the very best in the fine products used by his kitchen. Sea Urchin in an apple green “cloud”, truffled porcini flan with Dungeness crab, thinly sliced Long Island duck with kumquat purée and a gorgeous plum sauce are just a few examples of the stellar lunch tasting menu. Equally impressive is the long tenure of many of his team members - it says a lot. This is an experience not to be missed! More...
Beautiful ambience. I love the wall of apples as you walk in.... giving out a scent of freshness.... a true feeling of farm to table. The grand piano was a nice touch. Background music was perfect. The service was formal though a bit cold, almost too snobbish for my taste. I wonder if this is the impression they want to create. Somewhat intimidating. I was in the service industry for 40 years. I find the server should be able to adjust to the kind of client. We were not a formal group. We were going for a more friendly and easy to understand menu. The carrot soup and mushroom appetizer were well accepted. I was not impressed with the duck. It was a bit tough. The salmon with spirulina... well the overwhelming taste of the green algae is a bit overpowering. The deserts were superb. And thank you for the birthday cake for my husband. We all enjoyed it.I'm not sure i'll hurry to come back here. I was hoping for bigger portions. At least more vegetables for healthier feel. More...
Dinner Saturday night, as at all Bouley restaurants ( and we've been going to Bouley since 1987 (?) was fabulous. But only having counter seating for 4 people on a Saturday night is ridiculous. We'd had the Bastille Day Brunch in the larger dining room and it was lovely. Can't understand this whole thing of having dinner in the more casual space for dinner. If we hadn't positioned ourselves at a corner we wouldn't have been able to have a conversation. More...
Superior. Chef Bouley at his best!
Today the main space was booked for some other function, so we got to sit at the Test Kitchen. My mom, my sister and I all did the 3-course lunch instead of the 5, and it's way more manageable! Food is excellent as always, and for some reason I feel that this space has a more intimate vibe than the main space. Notably today's special is quail with seasonal veggies (cabbage's my favorite) -- succulent and very earthy yet sophisticated flavor. My sis lived in Paris for over 10 years and she said this was one of the best french dining experiences she's had (probably the best outside of France). More...
Me and my wife love Home the food is great and service is excellent!!! Can’t complain it’s
Came here as a group of five. They don't do Theater Menu at six so if you wanna try that, book yours slot earlier. They required the entire group to take either 3 course or 7 course all together, so we opted for the three course for all. The portion wasn't big so if you wanna have a full-dinning experience, try the 7 course one.We got seated inside, facing the fable for making all the appetizers. They used the open kitchen design so you can see clearly how they prepared the food, and the food smelled soooo good! The air conditioning was very strong so dress a little warmer. The cracker offered was warm and crispy. Very appetizing. I got the fresh Langoustine as my first course. The langoustine was very fresh and chewy. I don't like the green sauce at the bottom but it didn't affect that much. For the main, I got the lamb cooked medium. The meat was tender and juicy. Though they put quite some sauce on the meat, it wasn't overpowering. You can still tasted the original lamb flavor and it accompanied well with the vegetables. We were highly to try their chocolate lava cake for dessert. The crispy chocolate mixture near the cake was liked by all of us, while we found the cake itself a little too sweet. Each dish was well-explained.Pretty slow in general. We felt like this 3 course took the same amount of time as the 7 course (waited for about 50 min to get our first dish lol). Finished two bottles of wine at the table and there were some extra dessert as souvenirs for take-away. Overall a good experience. More...
The best! Plus where else could you speak with the chef for an hour and talk fitness and health? Third time at his restaurants and am never disappointed!
Superb fooding experience at Chef David Bouley. French American native, Bouley has put in place an educational program on nutritional values paired with his culinary offering in Bouley at Home on 21st Street. Chef David Bouley is a disciple of culinary art, health, and nutrition, and you can feel and taste in his fine dining cuisine that he succeeds in the combination of tasty and healthy. Perfect epicurean measure in my eyes combined with an unforgettable live culinary experience. A Michelin-starred restaurant without any pretentiousness. Loved it. A fav place for tasty quality meals. One of the best spots of its kind in the area. Certainly worth a return visit. Prices are appropriate for the quality.
Great place for delicious Quality Meals. arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. prices were fair for the quality of the food.
Fine location for Quality Meals. It was so delicious. Nothing but pleasant experiences here. It has a cool atmosphere.
My fav spot for tasty Quality Meals. this place will surprise you. i look forward to a return trip.
Quality Meals, yeah, so good. It was so tasty. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. They have so many great reviews for a reason.
Best restaurant experience ever. Atmosphere, service and food! Excellent!
Such Wonderful service and food!
Had the birthday dinner here. Once we stepped in the restaurant, we received the very friendly greeting. The services are so good. We tried the winter pre theatre menu. And they gave us three additional complimentary dishes. The food is so delicious and we finished every plate. Will definitely come back again. More...
Awesome place. We adore chef Bouley !
I dined at this place after reading the reviews. I was a walk-in customer. Every good review to this place was correct. It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. The front desk was nice and made me feel so welcome. The whole staff was attentive and helpful but never obtrusive. And then the food...ah exquisite! Every component of every dish perfectly complimented each other, no ingredient was out of place. I had the lunch tasting menu and each course was memorable, both in presentation and in taste. It was called tasting but unlike in other dining places, the portions were substantial enough that you don't just a "taste" of the food, you get to eat. And what an outstanding meal it was. More...

We did the 5 course menu tasting! I cannot even begin to tell you how fantastic and delicious the food is! But even better is the customer service! Everyone makes you feel like royalty! The ambiance is amazing. Because there was three of us, we got to taste about 2/3 of the menu as we tried each others dishes. Just when you think the food couldn't get any better, the next plate topped it some how!! Matthew, Jennie, and Gabriel were spectacular!! Special thanks and hugs to Matthew for making our celebration extra special!! They've set a new standard for my taste buds that makes it very hard to go back to "normal" food! I want this everyday!!!! You won't regret visiting Bouley! More...

Experience something new and brilliant. Chef Bouley is half Chef half healer half magician and this meal is not to be rushed! Dish after dish of things you’d never dream of...and that’s what makes this place wonderful. I loved getting the dishes explained by the chef who made it. Go and order the tasting menu. To me and my wife It is always a spatial event to eat a Bouley!!!!!
Great wine selection. Really enjoyed dinner tasting menu and seeing chefs cook.
Where do I even start?! ... This place is amazing!
The food is of course incredible. I have now tried the a la carte menu and both the lunch and dinner tasting menu - the lunch pre-fixe is the best deal in town!
To make the experience even more delightful, the staff is so attentive and really makes your time spent at the restaurant that much more enjoyable. Added perk - being able to see the chefs cooking!
Last but not least, the wine list is impeccable. Not only does the restaurant provide so many different options, they also offer a selection in all price ranges. Oh, and there's a Master Sommelier on hand.
Everything about this restaurant is perfect. GO NOW! More...
Superb! Love the new HOME, same amazing Bouley cuisine, in futuristic new digs in collaboration with bulthaup. Tip: although google description says 'Jackets required for men' and 'vaulted ceilings' this describes the previous Bouley location; the new Bouley at Home location has very high ceilings and dress code is 'celebratory casual'. Very happy to be at HOME again! More...

The best restaurant I have ever dined in bar none. It was in the 90's and every aspect surpassed description.
The food may be great, but it doesnt come close to the original in terms of ambiance. The original was closed in 1996 after being the #1 rest in NYC for 3 consecutive years untill its closing. There was a 1 mth waiting list. It was stunning & charming w/o being stuffy or snobby at the same time being homey....a rare combination. The room was neither stark, nor straight, it was filled with an array of large, beautiful flowers strategically placed which offered one a sense of privacy. Attention to detail. I always hope against hope that he would return to that location (which is nearby) and recreate the original. You felt like you were in France. A girl can always hope...lol. A beautiful experience. I went to Bouley for lunch about two years ago. The prix fixe lunch with the wine pairings is definitely the best bang-for-your-buck fancy meal I have ever had anywhere in the world. I have only been here once, but that romantic lunch with my wife was outstanding in every possible way. Service was impeccable, yet not stuffy. Start with a remarkable choice of bread. Felt comfortable to try most (maybe all) of them and they were all delicious. My wife had the world famous porcini flan and found it to be well deserving of all the praise. The organic farm egg with serrano ham was a fabulous experience of a dish with contrasting textures and well paired ingredients that ultimately coalesced into a traditional comfort food. All courses were excellent. And chocolate soufflé... Wine pairings were very well matched. Overall a memorable experience! More...
Classical food served by classically trained staff. Decor is very old fashioned. Apple wall smells amazing. Closing down indefinitely while Bouley looks into opening a new spot.

When you walk into the foyer you already get a whiff of Heaven but hands down one of the most amazing dining experiences I've ever had my whole life. The chef did a spectacular job with our three courses. Our table tried the Duck Lamb and the Seabass and that cashew pesto sauce was too die for. Whatever the appetizer they bring out with the potato purée and caviar was exquisite. Would def being friends here again. Couldn't ask for a better setting for dinner. More...
The most wonderful experience. You have to try it.
The best food ever! The interior makes you feel special! The people are so nice! Highly recommended!
Food was excellent as always, but service level has dropped siginificantly, which might have to do with the fact that staff realize the location is closing?
Excellent food complimented by great service by managers and staff...
The food was excellent. Definitely worth the money!

Celebrating Mother's Day in this place was amazing experienced ....foods ... Service ... Decor was excellent ...
Hands down the best dinner my husband and I have ever had, and we've been places!
When we first walked in, the walls were lined with apples. One thousand of them (yes, literally one thousand), and the room smelled like an orchard. Such a nice way to begin an incredible night. As we walked in, the restaurant just got more and more charming. Classy would be an understatement. It's not like your typical, modern French restaurant. It is elegant and pristine. Even the bathrooms were outrageous, with velvet walls and couches!
The service was beyond impeccable. We felt like we were the only people in the restaurant because they were so attentive. Our sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and even the man with the bread cart was attentive and helped to make our experience unforgettable.
Most importantly, of course, the food was the absolute best we have ever had. Each course was better than the last, and each dish had its own unique flavors and presentation. No ingredient was repeated, which a lot of these Michelin star restaurants are guilty of, and when you're paying for an experience like this, you want to try new flavors.
If I could give Bouley 10 stars, I would. I recently heard they are closing and I am heartbroken. I'm just so happy I was fortunate enough to experience this amazing establishment! More...
Incredibly special are the only words to describe this wonderful place. From the moment you walk in the doors, the wall of apples perfumes the vestibule of an apple orchard. You are seated in this wonderful room with velvet lined doors, a granite ceiling, and floral patterned chairs. Course after course comes and is somehow more amazing than the last. The smells, delicate, but distinct. The flavors and textures of each dish coalesce into a thought provoking ballet. The service from Ben and Miguel were "incroyable." Even the check was presented in such a way there was no 'Total' that was too big. One will not be disappointed for coming here to enjoy the tasting course lunch, and will only hope for another visit. The entire experience was brilliant and a visit quickly explains the consistently positive ratings The food preparation is exquisite. I am a vegetarian and they promptly catered to my requirements. A colleague had allergies to nuts and we were glad to note a similar improvisation for him as well. We were a business group and opted for the closed room. However it did turn out to be quite loud as it was right next to the kitchen. That aside, everything was to perfection. More...

Wonderful service. Restaurant is beautiful, very cozy and romantic. It has beautiful fresh flowers, and you can smell the aroma of apples on the wall at entrance. It is one of my favorites in NYC.
Fue una experiencia increible!!! Todos los platos deliciosos. Sin dudas volveré
We love the restaurant. I proposed to my wife here and we hope to come back for many more happy years! Merci et santé! Stefan and Fernanda
My boyfriend took me to Bouley to celebrate my birthday and it was spectacular. First of all, the decoration is really nice, without being too much either. I felt really comfortable stepping into the restaurant. We went to the dining room downstairs which I felt was more intimate than the one on the first floor.
The food was excellent from beginning to end, and wine pairing great too ! The desserts were really well presented, and we had madeleines/chocolates with coffee at the end. One of my most favorite places for fine dining. The room is exquisite the service impeccable and the food amazing!
The most fantastic experience! I've had many gastronomic adventures in my days on this planet, but the many modest courses add up to a veritable feast of sense experiences. One of the most interesting was the sea urchin with caviar: an ultra thin slice of the sea urchin on top of TWO types of caviar atop a terrine of sweet fruity flavors. Initial experience: a mouthful of sweet delight, but when you bite into each tender egg of caviar, the sweet immediately turns to a savory saltiness, and back again to the sweetness of the fruity terrine. What a rollercoaster ride! Just one of a dozen delightful courses! The staff is fantastic, the chef is such a genius. A splendid time! More...

My Christmas present to my daughter was 4 nights in NYC. Her gift to me was dinner at Bouley. This was my first fine dining experience of this level. We had the dinner tasting menu with the wine paring. Our selections could not have been more opposite, hers light while mine was hearty. It was amazing how each wine complimented the dish it was paired with and how each dish complimented the wine. I am not sure how to explain this but the meal was like a story that builds with each chapter and the final dish brought me back to the beginning to tie it off. It was incredible. More...

Bonnie Tandy Leblang - BITE OF THE BEST
lining the wooden shelves of the tiny atrium hits you as you walk into this restaurant. The dining rooms elicit elegant French country romance, feeling like upstairs at Downton Abbey. We opted for the choices from the five-course tasting menu — each of us having different tastings and wine pairings ($110). First, a light tomato coulis with red pepper gelee, feta cheese, basil and a Meyer lemon cloud of foam to tickle our tongues, and another plate with two crisps. One, a cheese gougères, the other a power-packed explosion of flavor — a Japanese kuzu cracker topped with aligot (potatoes and cheese) then black truffle pate. ...Read full post on biteofthebest.com More...

We visited Bouley restaurant for dinner in June, 2016. In the entrance, hundreds of apples were decorated on the wall, which was very impressive. The first enrtry tomato soup tasted like heaven. It was so refined and sophisticated flavour that I had never tasted before. The fish as main dish was also good. It was unprecedented experience of bringing a bread cart and serve breads in the middle of the course. After the dessert, they brought us a bunch of chocolates on the multiple trays, but could not finish them. Jean Georges is far behind of Bouley. My private opinion is that Bouley is better than Daniel and Le Bernardin. If I visit New York again, Booley would be the first place to visit again. More...

Bouley is closing in December, so I wanted one more lunch. The $60 tasting menu is still a bargain, but many of the extras have gone. There were no surprise courses. No tray of cookies with coffee. We had the three course dinner, with wine pairing. They have an extensive and high quality wine list but pairing a wine per course works well for a small party. Consulting with the sommelier we made sure that the wines that pair with our preferred appetizers and entrees are to our taste, and selected desserts that pair with the dessert wines that we wanted. We dined last night at Bouley after years of being away. We were totally in awe of the quality of food, presentation, service, ambiance, everything! It was truly an AMAZING experience, from start to finish. We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairings along with a bottle of champagne. An experience of this sort is pricey, at $1000 with tax and tip, but worth every penny - and yes, I'd do it all again next month if I could afford to. We've dined in almost all the 3 Michelin Star restaurants in New York, and I can say that Bouley is worthy of the same distinction. It's now tied as my favorite NYC restaurant with Le Bernardin. From the moment we arrived we were transported to an exotic place of hospitality and elegance. It is so refreshing to see waiters and captains, and the bread boy too, who understand what elegant service is all about. I can't wait to return here, and I would recommend this experience to everyone whole-heartedly! Bon Appetite@@! More...
The food, service and ambiance at Bouley are top-notch. This is one of the best restaurants in the city. The $55 lunch prix fixe menu is one of the best dining bargains you will find in the city and also one of the best. The food is just top notch. Service is polished and timely. The wine list is pricey but you can find some food friendly gems on the list with a little digging. More...
An absolute culinary adventure! Every food catered to each taste bud. This place is amazing and very memorable! The best restaurant I have ever dined at. Service is top notch and you are treated like royalty! More...
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent value (prix fixe). What more can be said?
I had the best experience, from the moment we walked in I knew we were about to have a fabulous dinner, from the decor to the way you are greeted. You are transported to a French palace with elaborated fine dishes. It was a fabulous evening, and to top it off, we were offered goodies bags at the end. Very classy and elegant. I will never go to NYC now without making my reservation for dinner at Bouley. More...
One of the finest Dining ExperiencesFrom the moment we walked into the beautiful dining room, and were greeted by a very professional and attentive staff we knew this was going to be an exceptional evening. The chefs starting gifts of small tastings were awesome. The Foie Gras and Shrimp and scallop appetizer was perfection. The Lobster and Sea Bass were delicious.Intermezzo's were delightful and the desserts were sublime. We had to take home the beautiful chocolates only because we honestly couldn't eat one more morsel. The chef and his staff deserve 5 stars for a perfect evening! Sat in the wine cellar and had a quiet table with friendly attentive service. Had the three course tasting menu with wine pairing and could not be more pleased. Certainly deserves its reputation
Once again for lunch at Bouley and once again a perfect experience. The 5 course tasting menu actually came to more than 7, and at $55 it was practically grand larceny on our part. Can't wait to do it again soon.
Service was superb--attentive but unobtrusive;sommelier promptly emailed a listing of the wines we had with the tasting menu

Everything here is 5 stars. Very good value for money.
Superb French food capturing the best of traditional and forward looking techniques. each of 4 diners had different courses and all were winners whether fish, meat or veg.
A memorable experience from beginning to end. Will never forget my meal at Bouley, neither the staff or the beautiful ambiance. Perfect.
Bouley is an almost perfect restaurant. The food is amazing, the service pleasant and unobtrusive, the little extras, chocolates, a loaf of lemon bread make customers feel cherished. The dining room is beautiful .
This was one of the best overall meals we have ever had. Started with very unique cocktails in a beautiful setting with impeccable service. Travis and his servers did an excellent job of providing and explaining each course. We enjoyed 5 course tasting menu for lunch and felt value of $55 was very fair for the excellent food delivered. With wine pairings cost was $110. Many extras were added as well. We thought entire experience was superb! More...
Loved this restaurant. Beautiful decor, outstanding food. Service is ok - considering that the restaurant is run by a Frenchman, you would expect that he would try to reproduce the level of service that you have come to expect in the finest restaurants in France; instead, you are getting something that is marginally better than what you would see in a upscale diner. Otherwise, it was definitely a pleasant dinner and we will come back. More...
Great food and great service! Plan to be there for two hours to get the full experience. Love the extras they give you. Very enjoyable dining experience. Definitely perfect for special occasions. More...
Everything about Bouley was wonderful, from the beautiful decor to the fabulous food and amazing service. We will return!
This is a fantastic restaurant, one of the very best in New York City. Everything was perfect: great food, attentive service, wonderful ambiance, charming hostess and reasonable prices.
great taste, comfortable mood, reasonable price(especially lunch), comparable wine list(good price), awsome desserts & coffee
Probably the best lunch I have have had. Do the 5 course tasting lunch with wine pairing. It was $110/person and worth every penny. Every bite of food was outstanding! The decor is stunning More...
The lunch prix fixe is so worth it. Had it with the wine pairing and the wine they had with each meal was spot on. My favorite and to my surprise was the organic egg dish, which at first I was hesitant about the dish but the way it was made, it melted in your mouth. And the best part about it, the dish was given as an extra. All the dishes that came out was wonderful. I would go back to have dinner there as well. More...
We, both females, are from overseas and tried Bouley based on friens's recommendation. It is a bit a rush. So we are not fully prepared for the fine - dining outfit. We wore a more casual outfit(however male should wear jacket). Though our appearances, the service is still very good and comforting. We had 3 course dining. Everything is explained well and delicious. Absolutely amazing. We had the best dining experience in Bouley. It deserves good rating. I would certainly come back again if i travel in NY. More...
We always (!) come here when in NYC. It's like going to France without getting on the plane.
Incredible experience. It's an epicurean theme park for your taste buds. Expensive but worth every cent.
Fantastic service, good spacing between tables and amazing flavours.
Prix fixe lunch a great deal. We loved every bite! Service professional and unobtrusive in a beautiful and peaceful room. A great place for good food and conversation with friends.
Amazing breads ...and a few flourless that were amazing
Impeccable service, creative use of expensive ingredients, beautiful plating, great taste.
Lunch at Bouley is always happily anticipated and it did not disappoint. Warm reception. Service under Nico is professional and personable. Excellent sommelier. The raw fish app w passion fruit sauce is excellent ff porcini flan and black bass. The meat entrees tend to disappoint us somewhat. Lovely baba au rum for dessert. Most diners dress for the occasion which adds to the lovely room. Flowers need to be fresh, not droopy. More...
Bouley has been, and still seems to be, one of the best restaurants in town. The food ranges from great to amazing. And their tasting menu (a steal for lunch) is a continuous joy.
Bouley was outstanding, we will be back. From the waitstaff to the food, to the flowers on the table and the general decor, it was a wonderful evening. We did the tasting menu. My husband would recommend the sea urchin, I loved the belon oyster and the foie gras. All the other dishes were delicious and well presented as well. We highly recommend Bouley! More...
Impeccable service and presentation in an unpretentious and refined atmosphere. The cuisine is second to none. In my opinion this is one of the finest restaurants in New York City.
Food was OK, but I expected more, nothing impressive
This review is a little late coming. I was too busy on my trip to do it at the time, but lunch today at a Melbourne fine dining restaurant prompted me to write. My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch at Bouley in July. I cant emphasize just how fantastic the service was, which should be no real surprise as Americans take their jobs very seriously in the service industry. They strike the perfect balance of unobtrusive, warm, charming and hospitable. I had a hilarious conversation with a French waiter about the film, Babbette's Feast, but he didn't understand my point at all; about how the villagers refused to show their reactions to the sublime quality of every course she brought out- much like some of the blase New Yorkers in the room but very unlike us, because we swooned at every mouthful.Every single plate was an experience in which we both delighted. I was compensated for not having an appetizer with a complimentary cold soup. Then began the steady stream of small tasting plates. One of my favourites was wild mushrooms with truffles and foam. Incredibly tasty, truly sublime. Lunch culminated in what seemed to be an endless array of desserts. I was really impressed with the texture of the various ice-creams, one in particular was so subtly flavoured that I had to ask the waiter what the base flavour was: toasted wheat! I was also quite taken with the waiters who all looked like bankers; sharp, immaculate in tailored grey suits. We overdid it on the bread cart, I must admit, which really counted as another course. However, it was very hard to resist the numerous breads on offer. I highly recommend the Lunch Tasting Menu at Bouley as it is incredibly good value: $US55 or $AUD72 for 5 courses, for what is one of New York's top restaurants. I wish I'd had the same experience in Melbourne recently More...
Excellent food and service! I go there every time I visit NY.

Extraordinary in every way.
What a wonderful experience we had. Was catching up with an old friend of years past who is a foodie like I am and we both loved the tasting menu as well as the service. It is old-school formal, but did not feel dated. Outstanding wine and service with pride. The bread cart was a highlight with at least a dozen or more types of artisan bread to choose from - the server in charge recommends popular choices or will just give you one of each! The presentation of each dish was so well thought out and everything was super fine and delicious. Have the signature dishes and you will wish you could eat them all day. This is one of New York's finest and an establishment that harks back to the olden days where you wish you could come dressed like a character from Mad Men. Not quite a perfect score only as it is very formal and an older crowd which may not suit all. More...
I have eaten in NYC finest and this was amazing on all counts The 5 course lunch tasting menu cannot be topped with extras itis more like courses
From the apples in the entrance to the bread cart sending yeasty scents through the dining room, from the orchids in the lounge to the gold vaulted ceilings, from the creative and delicious mixing of ingredients to the extraordinary wine list, Bouley has it all. Not to forget the exceptional service either, professional but friendly. Probably the most romantic room in New York. It will take time to savor, and it won't be cheap, but a dinner here will be memorable. While it is a lot of money, I actually thought the $125 prix fixe was fairly valued. The wine list, while extraordinary in the breadth of its French offerings, is not a bargain, and had a few excessive markups. More...
Food and service are top notch. Decor is fancy but restaurant itself feels homey in a good way, like you're eating at a friend's or relative's house so you feel very welcomed. Cocktails aren't fancy but are strong. Of course they give you a small cake gift at the end which is a nice touch. Can't say enough good things about the staff: they are professional from first hello to farewell. More...
We would absolutely recommend this restaurant! We went there for brunch and we had the five course tasting menu. Every dish was outstanding and the service was no less than excellent. We will definitively visit again!
Amazing food, classic decor, unbelievable service. It is a bit pricey though so probably best for special occasions.
My wife and I dined here recently for our minimoon trip to NYC. Food and service was excellent. Great drinks selection too. The atmosphere is very formal - catering more for older diners, or so it would seem. As a couple in our late 20's, we were the youngest diners there by quite a long way.Not really a negative by any stretch, but something to bear in mind!Everything else was impeccable - couldn't fault a thing More...
Go for just the dining room, stay for the experience. Vaulted ceiling tea room, with a library of unread books, as if you were at your own house, in a different version of your life. Knowledgable sommolier, with the forethought to offer a bright cabernet with your foie gras; not to be as predictable as to force sauturnes on the moment. Exquisite and lovely. More...
I really really looooooove the bread there! Best bread ever!
Almost dishes are very delicious.I am sorry main dish was not so good. But another dishes were Wonderful! I want to recommend my friend.
One of the best restaurants in New York and considering the food and service it's reasonably priced.A must for foodies!
Bouley remains one of the very best restaurants in NYC. It is a very romantic, country French place with the most exquisite food and excellent, professional service. Although it is pricey, it is well worth it. More...
We visited Bouley to mark our first year of married life and we had a wonderful afternoon. From the warm welcome we received on entering the restaurant to a departure gift, the experience was very special. We availed of the tasting menu which was very good value. Two weeks on and we are still talking about our lunch at Bouley. I think it may be one of those rare meals that we will be talking about for a long time to come! More...
It was everything I hoped it would be. A wonderful treat for the senses. I'll be back.
Great for a special occasion. The $800 bill for two doesn't justify the average taste of the food. I have been to restaurants that cost a fraction of the price and the food is more tastier. On the flip side, service was Exceptional. More...

Wonderful 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing for lunch. Impeccable service and romantic atmosphere. Certainly one of the best restaurants in New York City.
Some people are luckier than others. David Bouley is fantastically lucky to have Jacques.
We went with the three-course lunch menu, letting the place know that we do not eat meat or poultry. Everything served was excellent. The wait staff was excellent. And at the end of the meal, we were served an unexpected dessert to note our wedding. This is a place worth going to. More...
This was our first time to Bouley and it exceeded our expectations. We did their 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings and each course was special and well presented. The dining room is elegant with acoustics to help enjoy an evening without a lot of noise. The staff was very welcoming and helped you enjoy this dining experience. We toured the kitchen and it was immaculate. Truly Bouley is one of the best restaurants we have found in the world. More...
The restaurant is gorgeous, the staff is amazing, and the food is in a class by itself. I turn off my cell phone, I relish the ambience, and enjoy every bite and every sip...in a way that isn't the norm in our crazy world. It is one of the most enjoyable experiences I would recommend to anyone who is in the proximity of this slice of heaven. More...
Our third visit here (over three years) affirmed the consistency and superiority. The mediterranean feel downstairs is worth asking for (upstairs feels a bit more generic). Service is attentive but unmannered and unobtrusive. We ordered the 6 course tasting menu for $180 and it was outstanding...make sure you try the sea urchin with Meyer lemon, and the bison if available...best I have had of these ingredients. Only a lobster dish which was a bit complex, so lost the lobster, and a delicious but not as creative chocolate dessert were anything less than outstanding. More...
From the minute you enter the front door, you are amazed at the detail and attention. This is truly a dining experience, not a dinner.Food was superb, service was great. This was a birthday celebration and when we received the check for the night, we also received a hand written card from David Bouley. Really nice and classy. More...
My husband & I have been there many times for special occasions . The decor is elegant, the food is amazing & the service is very impressive.
Best lunch we have ever had. Ever! Unbelievable atmosphere. Perfect food and perfect service.
Overall, Bouley's lives up to its 1 star Michelin rating. High end classic decor and ambiance with painted walls and archs; highly attentive service but not overbearing; extensive but pricey wine list and most importantly, very good food. My wife and I enjoyed a tasty 3 course dinner plus the chef's complimentary appetizers between courses. Each course was very tasty and well presented except for the main course, which was average relative to the others. Also, my lobster main course seemed more like two langoustines vs. a Maine lobster tail,so that was disappointing. Overall, it's a nice and tasty experience but not one that "wows". I think there are better food and ambiance options for the $450+ you'll pay for two. More...
We had the lunch tasting menu at $55 per head. It was the best $55 ever spent. The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. Made us feel special. Love the ambience. We were given a lemon cake each with compliments from the chef. A very nice touch. Highly recommended! More...
Amazing! Beautiful atmosphere and the food was heavenly.
No question as to why David Bouley still one of the few top chefs in NYC. The setting is beautiful and the service is smooth, with the food as the main attraction. Each time we visit, we get more enthralled with his style of cooking, not too eclectic, but the flavors are intense and are harmonious. Cannot wait to go back... More...
We were delighted to have made our reservation for dinner at Bouley just as it received a terrific review from the New York Times and we were not disappointed. The setting and decor of the restaurant is just lovely and we felt like we were in the South of France. The food was superb. We had the tasting menu and our waiters were kind enough to let us adjust the courses somewhat, having only fish, rather than the meat courses. Overall we thought the food was outstanding - though perhaps the flavors were not quite as exciting and inventive as what we would taste at Le Bernardin or Eleven Madison Park - but terrific nonetheless. Particular favorites were the Sea Urchin and the Oyster appetizer dishes. In fact, we felt the appetizer servings were the best of all. The Hamachi sashimi dish was a little flat - and tasted like it had been sitting in the citrus for too long, leaving the fish too tough and lacking salt. Our only criticism was the sommelier....we chose to split the wine pairings which was not clearly something he approved - but after our pre-dinner drink, we just didn't want to full pairings. He was a bit typically French and aloof - but warmed up as the dinner went along. All in all, a delightful experience and our friends enjoyed it greatly. More...
An amazing meal. From walking in to a wall of apples, to the parlor, to the old school French dining room, an experienve! PACIFIC LARGE OYSTER - Roasted with Vermont chanterelles, special spices - tender and savory, but fresh. MAINE LOBSTER - Monterey artichokes, organic asparagus, Texas sweet peas, Burgundy red wine - the most perfectly cooked piece of lobster I've ever had; the wine only opened up the seafood. Finished with cheese, and did not want to leave. Service was friendly and not stuffy. Just a dream meal. More...
Bouley is quite the experience in fine dining. Everything was perfectly choreographed and the food was beyond excellent. Gorgeous vaulted ceiling that makes you feel like you're dining in a private chateau. Will definitely be back soon. More...
I've had quite a few meals at Bouley over the years, and by now my expectations are always pretty high but I still end up a little surprised at how very good this place is. It's not exactly cheap, but you get so much for your money that it ends up being one of the best values in New York, especially for lunch. David Bouley also really cares about making a meal that is as digestible as it is delicious, so you can have a 3-hour lunch with 5+ elaborate courses and still walk out feeling great. The food is interesting without being overworked, and the place is really cozy in a sort of old-school way. I find my self comparing other fancy restaurants to Bouley, and it's a tough act to follow. The lunch menu is a great deal with the amount of courses you get!!! Leave room for the bread cart!!! Truly exceptional! The decor is beautiful.
Best dining experience we have ever had! The lunch was delicious and the restaurant was absolutely beautiful!
Went for my birthday at lunch and did the prix fix tasting meal. It was AMAZING. and the staff is extremely attentive to your needs. And unlike most restaurants I've been in New York.. this one wasn't rushing to get you out so they can turn your table over. We had a nice pleasant slow paced experience.Let's get back to the food... Bouley totally understands the palate and creating an experience not only visually, but also in taste. It was like an incredible journey on my palate. More...
Every time I come to NY I have to go to Bouley. It is absolutely a great experience. This year I noticed something that surprised me: the sommelier was not up to the excellence of Bouley. Very mechanical and bureaucratic when talking about the wines. Needs some coaching. More...
The New York Times stayed with it's three star rating. It could be four if you were evaluating only the food but the service still needs some work. More attention to a deliberate, not rushed, description of each offering would be a start. If you leave the table your napkin may, or may not, be refolded. But it's the food that steals the meal - and it's reasonably priced. The wine list is excellent and if you're a French devotee you'll have a field day here. Bouley allows for a less "rigid" atmosphere than Eleven Madison Park, for instance, and this adds to a very comfortable dining experience. More...
It was our second time at Bouley. After our first - outstanding - experience in December last year we decided to invite very nice friend to the restaurant tonight. The food was again OUTSTANDING!BUT: The service was not outstanding at all! It was not even great - we are absolutely not used to order the dessert already when we order the menu - not even in french or german three stars restaurants!! NO WAY! And the tone of saying that and the tone if one of the guests is not as quick ready with his dishes than the other.. Sorry - that is something the service has to work on. But better not to be perfect- than one has the chance to get better - what for the kitchen is difficult, because every part of the dinner was extremely good! More...
My husband and I arrived Monday for lunch a couple of weeks ago around 11:30 am and were seated in Bouley's beautiful main dining room. We were there for the $55 5-course lunch which is truly one of the great bargains in Manhattan. Service was relaxed and not forced. We each ordered a glass of white wine, French for my husband and Italian for me, both wines delightful. We were first offered a couple of amuse-bouche dishes which at a bite or two each was just right. Standouts for the 5-course lunch included a tasty carrot soup, an organic farm egg poached and nestled in a bowl with Serrano ham and polenta with a foam broth over it, a wonderfully cooked Dover sole, and an equally perfectly cooked black sea bass. The desserts were spectacular, one named "pomme" consisting of a striking green apple shaped shell on a cake and when the shell was opened it revealed a wonderful sweet concoction inside. The other dessert was equally fun with rose ice cream artfully placed on a crunchy cake base with white chocolate rosettes piped on. We also were treated to a large cherry shell with stem which when opened revealed a light and creamy cherry filling. During lunch a server came around with a cart of about a dozen housemate breads made with several types of ingredients including olives and various herbs. Service during the meal was unobtrusive but several servers were always there for your needs. Chocolates and cookies were presented after dessert on a multi-tiered plate stand, and since we were filled from lunch, they put these treats in a pretty little bag for us to take with us. All in all we found the experience wonderful and will repeat it soon! More...
As soon as one steps into the lobby of Bouley, decorated with row upon row of fresh apples that exude a crisp aroma, the meal is an experience. We sat for three hours over our prix fixe lunch and glasses of wine. The amuse bouche was heavenly and set the tone for two appetizer courses; small entrees made to perfection--we shared venison and duck; followed by a palette cleanser and dessert, not to mention the tiered tray of chocolates. And throughout the meal, one is offered slices of an array of breads--some even gluten free--which are complemented by the sweet, delectable butter from Normandy. Service was polite and friendly with attention to our special requests. And as if all of that isn't sufficient, we received a goody bag of lemon cake to take home and savor the rest of the week, reminding us of this extra special meal. More...
We came here for our honeymoon and it was a wonderful experience. We both ordered the Chef's tasting menu. Along with the menu items, we received two extra courses as well as an extra desert (the desert was because it was our honeymoon). The food was inspired, and it was clear that they pay a lot of attention to detail, in terms of taste, texture, temperature, and presentation. More...
My favorite restaurant hands down! Everything was amazing. I can't complain about anything!
This is the single best dining experience I have ever had. The second best was also at Bouley about one year ago. Every possible detail is taken care of in every way imaginable. Bouley never disappoints! The décor, the comfortable, well-spaced tables, the beautiful appointments, the attentive but friendly service, the delicious food - not to mention the unbeatable $55 prix fixe 5-course lunch - all make for an exceptional experience. This place remains my favorite.
This place was worth the splurge and ideal for an intimate dinner for two. The food selection was great and my favorite dish was their crab dish and their sirloin dish. The wine list was very extensive, so if you have a specific french wine in mind they probably have. The entire staff was very friendly and willing to make your dinner the best you have ever had! I found this restaurant excellent, and certainly deserving of its star. The foie gras offering on the tasting menu was a little greasy for my taste, and my fiancée prefers foie gras as a terrine, but otherwise the food was top notch. Our server was excellent - very attentive, friendly and accommodating. Thankfully, she said yes - so we'll be back in a couple of years for a wedding anniversary. More...
My husband and I are foodies....yet good food is not enough when we dine out. We want ambiance and service too. Bouley scored a TEN PLUS on all three counts. The restaurant is stunning and elegant. The service staff is so educated and charming and polite. And the food......the food is so innovative, so delectable, so colorful and creative and delicious and satisfying. We cannot say enough about dinner at Bouley this week. Bouley is one of the finest restaurants in New York City! The atmosphere is opulent and elegant. On this occasion, we took my son and his girlfriend there to celebrate our son's 25th birthday. We chose to order a three-course menu. I chose foie gras for my appetizer, lobster for my entrée, and a wonderful pear creation for my dessert. My husband ordered venison for his entrée. My son's girlfriend had a vegetarian entrée. Both my son and my husband chose a chocolate dessert. We all ordered different green cocktails. One of them had gin, cucumber, line, and cilantro. One of them had vodka and apple. The service was both warm and professional . We highly recommend this incredible, special occasion restaurant ! More...
When making my dream food list for New York City, I was sure to hit all the key points: lots of pizza, cheesecake, that frozen hot chocolate, sweets from Magnolia Bakery, and, oh yeah, some sort of fancy place. Bouley, a contemporary French restaurant located in Tribeca in Manhattan, is owned by four-star chef David Bouley. Zagat has rated the restaurant very highly - as the third-best restaurant in New York City in 2013. TripAdvisor rated it the best restaurant in the United States in 2015. Initially, I thought this restaurant would be far, far out of my price range - but, they have a $55 five-course lunch tasting menu. Perfect.I made reservations way in advance, so I had plenty of time to fret about what I was going to wear. Their dress code stated: Casual Celebratory... whatever that means. They just made that up. This wasn't the only thing we were doing that day in NYC, so I had to have something comfortable enough that I could work for miles before and after this lunch. I, fortunately, figured out something (after shopping at too many places) and found no problem when I walked inside. There were, however, lots of suit jackets (required for men) and fancy dresses from the women. As soon as we walked in, we entered a room filled with rows of apples, where we checked our coats. Then, we were guided toward another waiting area filled with plush seats and giant floral art. I looked around at this point, a little intimidated. I gave myself some silent motivation - you're fancy! You can do this! ...Read full post on candacelately.com More...
My husband and I were delighted with our dining experience at Bouley. I am a native New Yorker and have dined at some of the best restaurants in Manhattan. Bouley was no exception. From the moment we walked in, we knew if would be a wonderful experience. The décor was beautiful; with fresh roses and tulips placed throughout the room for romantic ambience. The food selections varied from traditional to adventurous. And they were all outstanding. I had the shrimp and sea scallops as an appetizer with an herb sauce and fresh calamari. The smell alone made my mouth water. The food was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. My entrée was lobster over artichoke hearts and peas with a light red wine sauce. Again, outrageous. The smell and taste were impeccable. Even the chocolate soufflé was the best I've had. My husband had mushroom soup as an appetizer and Bison for his entrée. He too thought it was one of the best meals he has had. I must also mention the service. That too was outstanding. The staff was very attentive and the sommelier couldn't have been more accommodating. I must also mention the specialty bread cart. We tried everything from pistachio hazelnut to dried cherries. If you're looking for a high quality dining experience, this is the place to go. They appear to have their share of regulars, but they treated everyone as they were the only people in the room. We were there for my birthday, but I think it's a perfect place for an engagement or sharing of special news. Try it, I think you'll love it as much as we did. More...

The food is outstanding, as always and perhaps when the expectations are set so high, there are bound to be one or two disappointing elements. On our last visit, the service, while friendly, seemed more disorganized than it had in the past--slightly confused in fact. There seemed to be robust staffing but a definite lack of continuity in the service. The wine list, which used to have some more moderate gems and a fairly good selection of half bottles, now seems dominated by stratospherically expensive wines. The sommelier did find some very nice alternatives but in a range which would be expensive at many other restaurants. So the lunch, which is an incredible bargain for food, ends up not such a bargain. But the food is still great! More...

Yes, I have to admit that Bouley is my most favorite restaurant in NYC. Very elegant and romantic setting which is perfect for you to hold a special dining experience with your important one. Staffs were friendly and professional, always cared if their customers were satisfied with everything. Food was tasty and we would love to come back in the future for other items on their menu. It was a really special dinning. The food was more than marvelous.Everything was perfectCongratulations
Everything about this place was amazing, from food, service and atmosphere. We spent our first Valentine's Day there, the decoration was so romantic! Even the restroom was filled with balloons and roses! Slightly pricy, $600 for 2 not including tips. More...
Besides having some of the most sumptuous creations on the planet, they treat each guest like royalty. Everyone on staff can break down each dish for you (including the lady with the water pitcher). The gentleman with the bread is an expert who genuinely enjoys helping you choose the right bread for your meal. We created a new term for that: Bread Sommelier. Utterly impossible to go wrong here. Bouley is now a permanent "go to" when we visit NYC. A+++ More...
Fabulous experience all the way around. Even though we were there on Valentine's Day, there were plenty of people making sure that everything was perfect. They easily accommodated my wife who is a vegetarian and made it really memorable for us. We have been to Bouley twice before so we knew what we were in for and yet they again exceeded our expectations. Can't say enough great things about every morsel of food we ate. Even things you would have expected to be ordinary were a culinary delight and the tasting menu is genius because you get to taste multiple extravagant courses. Top of the list of all time favorite meals for us and we have dined at numerous high end restaurants over the years. If you have a chance to go, especially for a celebratory event, don't think about it! Just go! More...
Vibrant floral arrangements and red balloons anchored with rose buds provided the perfect backdrop for a wonderful Valentine's Day menu..forager mushrooms, porcini flan, Dover sole.. with amusing bites scattered in between courses. Excellent service from team Said. More...
It is the most romantic place. Small restaurant with great decor, amazing service and great food. We happened to be there on Valentine's Day and it could not have been more perfect.
The five-course tasting menu was outstanding - unique preparations, exquisite flavors, appealing presentation. And the service was impeccable, yet friendly.
From our entrance through the "Apple walled foyer" to our seat, we were invited to enjoy our evening. We left after our wonderful meal, the grilled bison and Colorado lamb, preceded by our wonderful first courses of trout and shrimp and scallop. It was a wonderful evening and our wait staff was the essence of attentive - there when we needed them- invisible when we didn't. An experience we will look to repeat. More...
Amazing food, atmosphere and service.... Loved it...
The wine list, ambiance, and service were absolutely spectacular. The restaurant was very authentic to fine dining in Paris. The food fell very short of expectations: the presentation was spectacular and the ingredients were very fresh but the flavor wasn't there. I'm glad I went and experienced Bouley because of the ambiance, incredible service, and ambiance but my expectations fell very short in regards to the flavor of the food. More...
I love this restaurant and have been coming here since it opened almost 30 years ago. The prix fixe luncheon menu is a real gift. The food is amazing and creative and a feast for the palette. With the number of options offered on the menu, one really gets the opportunity to taste a broad range dishes. The service is excellent, making every diner feel their satisfaction with the dining experience is important and they do everything to insure that. One recommendation, come hungry. Although each course in itself is not a lot of food, when you add the delicious bread cart and the special treats in between courses, you will want to be able to have room for everything. More...
One of the best meals we have ever had in the city. Food was incredible, and matched by top notch service. Takes us back to top French places with the meal an evening and not just a mechanism to feed you. Because You're paying top dollar, sit back and enjoy an incredible evening. More...
This restaurant is a fantasy land. First of all, you will be enchant at entrance. Architect, furnitures, cast, cuisine, everything bring you to the dream world. Every time I visit Bouley, I almost gonna see fairy are flying in the restaurant. I recommand winter time and have thier splendid truffle special course. This is the only restaurant that I cried for deep emotion of palatability. More...
Food was unbelievable and the atmosphere wonderful. Service was rushed towards the end of the meal when dessert, complementary dessert, petits fours, and espresso was served all at once. There was so much stuff on the table I could hardly see my date. More...
Amazing food, lovely french decor with beautiful paintings, furniture and ambience. Service is attentive but not fussy. A great restaurant for a special occasion but the prices are not for the faint of heart.
One of the best restaurants in NYC. A perfect ROI and a great ambiance.
Extremely pleasant ambiance. Magnificent service. Amazing food. We did the celebration of our anniversary with 3 course menu plus wine pairing. In total we had approx 5 dishes. Amazing selections of out-of-the-oven breads. Wine pairing is a must for wine lovers (approx 6 glasses, including 2 desert wines). Expensive diner, but worth the special occasion. A must go in downtown TriBeCa for French cuisine lovers. More...
Wonderful food and ambiance. However, service that was impeccable at the start disappeared and we waited quite a while for the main course to arrive--surprising. Even more surprising, the coat check could not find my coat, took 20 minutes of digging around. I don't think this is the norm and it did not spoil our experience but it is something that should be corrected in a restaurant of this quality More...
One of the best. Always!!!
Excellent restaurant with exquisite menu. I was there in ocassion of my birthday and it worthed the visit. We had the 6 course tasting menu for dinner and it was over the top. Besides, the service and the attention of the waitress were super. Among the plates I should metion the farm organic egg with an infussion of black truffles and the buffalo steak. Both cooked to perfection. Finally , they have the most extensive wine list I have ever see. We will return to the restaurant in our next visit to New York City. More...
More than a great meal, which it is, Bouley is warm and welcoming on every level. My go to spot for special occasions from friend's Birthdays to Anniversaries.
The food is well prepared, standard, fine dining French food. Nothing out of the ordinary or "experimental" here, but that is fine. The room is beautiful and the service is attentive but not overly so. The bread cart is amazing and not to be skipped. More...
Meal started amazing, uni appetizer amazing..as usual breads were out of this world as well as desserts. The main courses were not as stellar as previous visits..seemed less full of taste. This is still one of the best NYC restaurants. Better than DANIEL and Le Bernadin...but we have had better meals at our favorite gourmet restaurant in Tribeca, Bouley. More...
We did the three course tasting menu with paired wines. The amuse-bouche was excellent, but from that point on, the food was just good, not at the excellent level we expected. The shrimp in the shrimp appetizer tasted like they'd been frozen before, and so had a residual chlorine like smell and were slightly tough. The bison, while good, did not wow us. The artisanal cheeses were, however, perfectly selected. The service was nearly impeccable, with only 1 slight mis-step, bringing us the wrong appetizers. The ambiance was very well created and the decor beautiful. All in all, though, we were not wowed the way we'd expected to be. More...
Exquisite food. The lunch tasting menu is an incredible deal – every one of the 5 courses was a work of art. The place is beautiful and everything was perfect.
Once again, David and team demonstrate why Bouley is the finest restaurant in NYC. Amazing!
Never disappointed, always pleased with Bouley. One thing I wish theyd bring back is the smoked salmon bellini (sp?) It was amazing and also the lemon sorbet in between meals. And make the chocolates at the end optional, we almost always never have them and feel terrible to waste them. But still tasting menu at bouley is always a winner. More...
The food and service at Bouley were absolutely amazing. I had the 5 course lunch tasting menu. which would have been phenomenal in itself, but if I torn between two options (the foraged mushrooms, or the porcini flan?) they brought both as a bonus course. We were celebrating my birthday, so they brought another bonus course for that (poached pear in addition to the chocolate soufflé cake I'd ordered). Each bite, from the porcini flan with black truffle dashi, to the sea urchin, to the beef cheeks -the most tender cut of meat I'd had anywhere, period - was exceptional. Add in the flawless service and the bonus bites, and I was Howard in Wonderland. Thank you to the staff and chefs at Bouley for a remarkable and memorable meal. More...
This was, by far, the best restaurant experience of our lives, and we are foodies who have traveled the world. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the service outstanding. Each wonderful bite of our six course tasting menu (with amazing wines picked by the sommelier) was incredible, and there were many surprises from Chef Bouley (who is actually on premises), including additional amuse bouche dishes, extra dessert treats and amazing breads. Dress up to fully enjoy being part of the scene, and be ready for the evening of your life. We come to NYC about once a year, and there would be nowhere else we would ever go again. Looking forward to next year. More...
We entertained 6 people there and were treated with very high quality creative , interesting and superbly prepared food. The wait-staff were obviously selected at the top of their game and able to make the perfect suggestions for our group. Will most definitely return to dine! More...
Ambience was intimate, lighting was perfect; we could see our food perfectly but it was soft enough to allow for us to feel comfortable. The food was exquisite, and we ate way beyond our filling point. Our service was beyond all reproach. The staff worked as a seamless ensemble. More...

America's Best Restaurant! i would def have my bday dinner here ⭐
Elegant atmosphere with very experienced servers. The food is presented adequately for the level of excellence you'd expect from Bouley. Overall, an amazing lunch with value! More...
Having dined here on multiple occasions over the years, I can say that David Bouley has hit his stride and his restaurant is firing on all cylinders. No pretension, no cuteness, no convoluted party games simply wonderful creative cuisine presented by impeccably trained wait staff. It adds up to a totally enjoyable experience that any restaurant owner in NY who yearns for recognition should visit to see how it is done. More...
Impeccable Proustian salon. Like sitting in a 3-star Michellin country inn in France. Interesting and delicious food. Professional service without being self-congratulatory or overbearing. Best breads and butter possible. Intriguing wines. Doesn't get any better than this. More...
A wonderful meal at one of the best tables in NYC. Consistently great food and service.
Bouley has it all, fine dining, impeccable service, elegant and welcoming ambience.Creative choices rich with flavor and beautiful presentation. It will be one of your best dining experiences. More...
We were at Bouley to celebrate my mother's birthday and it did not disappoint. If you order the prix fixe (which is a wonderful value), you get 5 courses, plus an unlimited variety of breads, an amuse bouche and a few other flairs. They were nice enough to give us an extra dessert for the birthday girl. The dining room is warm and inviting, perfect on a blustery New York afternoon-- and probably evening too.Thumbs up! I am a repeat diner at Bouley, and it never disappoints. Everything is perfect. The food. The wine pairings. The service. A remarkable experience from start to finish.
Bouley never fails. The food is wonderful, the service is attentive without being overwhelming, and the dining room is lovely with fresh flowers and candles on each table. My husband and I ordered the tasting menu, and I found the duck particularly delicious. The bread cart is remarkable, and at the end of the evening we were able to take home a couple of slices of the wonderful brioche. This is a restaurant that still lives up to its reputation for fine food and luxury dining. More...
I have dined many times at both Le Bernardin and Bouley -- undoubtedly the two best restaurants in New York (and among the best in the world) -- and as far as I am concerned, Bouley is even better than its perennial rival. The atmosphere is both elegant and romantic, the service is perfect, and the food is out of this world! More...
The menu is very pricey but well worth the $$$. If you are attending for a special occasion i would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was outstanding and felt that our money was well spent. More...
We had a great experience dining on Saturday , a little late though. 9 30pm was the only time they had and we made reservation 3 weeks prior . Food was very good . Selection of breads is huge! Great wine list, great service ! More...
3 people at a long, un-rushed lunch. A most generous (many choices) tasting menu. Little add-ons were excellent.Interesting uses of kudzu on the menu.Desserts were -- possibly -- a weaker point.End-of-luncheon chocolates were of superb quality.Bread choices were enormous, almost confusingly so. Butter too cold.Service was amiable and highly professional. The dining room is spacious; noise level was low; decor seems just a bit tacky; did they have to turn on music after 3PM?The restaurant has been at a few different locations over the years: this was our bestmeal there. For 'rapport prix-qualite' in NYC I don't know how this can be beat. Just a great place to eat fine food. More...
The Bouley 5 course Lunch Menu is an Amazing Experience. The Food and Ambience truly deserve a Michelin Star. Highly Recommended.
