Happy hour is the best here, they colonial Colombian entree is to die for. Â The skirt steak is perfectly marinated, so tender, easy to chew and swallow. Their drinks are great too. My daughter and I were waiting for a car dealership to finish her paperwork so, we decided to Yelp a restaurant in the area. After reading reviews and the guy at the dealership recommended Bocaito. We were truly satisfied with our meals, I had the arepitas con ropa viejas, it was really good, my daughter had the salmon with pineapple salsa and quinoa, she loved it. Came here without a reservation on a Saturday night after picking up family at the airport. Didn't expect much but the food was amazing here. They also had a vegetarian option for one of my family members. Had to wait a bit cause it was a Saturday night but service and food is great. Went here on a Sunday night. Cool atmosphere, good music. The aloholic beverages were really good. This has to be my favorite restaurant in Queens! The food is absolutely delicious with a diverse selection for everyone to enjoy. The decor is chic and warm making it a great place to entertain friends or hang low with a date. The best part is the service that the team provides. This is literally one of the BEST Latin American restaurants in NYC! As me and my best friend arrived we were immediately greeted and asked if we would like to sit outside or indoors. I appreciated that since most places sit you where they most would benefit. We had one of their seafood dishes and it was outstanding. The flavor was full and so tasty. To drink we had mojitos and let me say it was no typical weak mojito, it tasted like Miami Beach mojitos yum! The passion fruit flavor was my fave. Such a sweet spot in every sense--ambiance, cuisine and the staff was sweet. The place from the outside doesn't stand out much, but the inside and patio is so much more decorative and inviting. The staff all greeted my friend and I and invited us to try the patio. We were treated by the sweetest lady named Laura and got a free sample of drink. They were patient with giving us time to order but didn't forget about us either. We ordered a pitcher of sangria ($30) ribeye mini tacos, guac and chips and mini mofongos with ropa vieja. For dessert we had chocolate cake lava with ice cream. And I must say y'all these dishes were on spot! The price is a bit up there for the location but I see no complaint--the food is worth the price. The music was great as well. I absolutely love love this place! I found this gem about 2 years ago and I haven't stopped going since! The drinks are amazinggggggg I am extremely picky when it comes to drinks and this is by far the only place that has never let me down! I cannot tell you ALL enough how absolutely amazing this place is ... this is my official Neighborhood go to! I was pleasantly surprised by this small and cozy restaurant. I made reservations for 13 guests this past Saturday. I highly recommend the Bocaito platter which feeds 5-6 ppl. The drinks were good and the entrees (although they took almost 45min) were all delicious. The vodka Rose was strong and yummy! OK - Staff? Friendly, they always checking on you, on how you are doing, making sure you are comfortable; and the bartenders are smoking hot for the girls out there that like to have a drink while watching some eye candy . Drinks? I 101% recommend the GUAVA MIMOSAS, to die for. Food? The crab croquetas are 1A+, the bandeja you will want to take another 2GO of how good it is. Hidden cozy gem on Northern Boulevard! I came here on a Friday night. I had an appetizer (Calamari fried to crunchy perfection and very flavorful) dinner (we ordered from the specials of the day menu; chicken florentine with a side of a special green colored rice & I ordered a side of maduros, and glazed pork chop w/ rice and black beans) both dishes were great, and Happy hour drinks! white sangria was on point! (happy hour is until 7pm) great mix of tropical/urban latin music played all night. They have a cute outdoor patio in the back, that I unfortunately couldn't check out being that we're experiencing a heatwave in NYC right now! The owner Nicole was so gracious friendly and welcoming! I recommended this spot on a perfect night for my friends!! I recommended their sampler platter because it had tostones, salchicha, bistec, empanadas, chicharron, and their specialty dips (this is only served in the evenings). Bocaito's vibes are amazing! Not only is their service attentive but they treat you like family! Phone was misplaced twice and both times were given back to be founded by the owner of the phone. This place was absolutely amazing. They were so accomodating to my party of 10 people which we were celebrating my sister's birthday. They helped me with preparations a week before and made a a prefixed dinner for the party which was great. My waitress Nicole helped arrange everything and she was wonderful. The food was delicious, the sangrias were amazing, the place is quaint and the music level is just right to enjoy it along with being able to have a conversation with your party. I frequent this place at least 3x a month... the staff is always very accommodating, the service is swift, the hostess is very friendly, and the bartender (Pablo in particular, is very personable) I have never had a bad experience here. Always satisfied. I would recommend as an appetizer the ropa vieja tostones, as an entree the skirt steak with the yuca mash and cheese (ahhhmazing!)
