The Back Inn Cafe made this evening a purely delightful time. The food was exquisite as always and the wine was the best. Our servers took good care of us we never had to ask for anything, it was there for us . You could look out over the water and watch the sunset. We recommend it highly.. We have never had a bad meal here and we truly love the atmosphere. More...

Very romantic ambiance! White linen tableclothes, candlelight, fantastic river views. There is outside seating on the terrace and a pavilion, too. The bar was cool with subdued lighting. The staff was impeccable, attentive, efficient, and very friendly. Kathryn was our server and did everything she could to make our evening a memorable experience. We will definitely go back. Our steaks were just a bit overcooked, though, so next time we will order them cooked medium rare. More...

While waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant, we were recommended to have some drinks at back in and the bartender would be called to inform us that our table was ready. Sweet! So in steps our party of 6 for my sister's bachelorette party. At first we were nervous because it was nice and quiet with perfectly white tablecloths and we were a little loud and ready to drink. I can’t recommend Bluff View enough! Tonya and the rest of the staff make wedding planning about as stress free as it can be. We had originally planned to have our wedding outdoors on the bocce court but when our wedding day came, the weather didn’t cooperate. Our plan B in Renaissance Commons turned out beautifully. Tonya and Hannah handled everything from set up to breakdown so I didn’t have to stress. We received so many compliments on the food and our cake was delicious! Truly was a wonderful experience! This is an artisan bakery located in the Bluff View district of Chattanooga. If you are looking for different types of loaves of bread this is the place to go. While I was there, I tried the Cranberry Walnut Broule. It was delicious, I decided to buy a loaf. The bakery's location is in the beautiful Bluff View art district. My suggestion is to grab your backpack and a loaf of their bread for a picnic or as a snack as you walk around the river district of Chattanooga. More...

This is a great area for not only seeing art but also for walking, biking, and eating. In this area, you can see beautiful views of downtown Chattanooga, the Tennessee River, and the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge. For your convenience, there is a parking lot near the Bluff View Bakery. I stopped in the bakery and bought a loaf of their delicious Cranberry Walnut Boule and was able to munch on it while I walked. Also in this area is a walking/biking path. Across the street from the bakery is the River Gallery Sculpture garden which is worth taking a stroll through. Just up the hill and around the corner is the Back Inn Cafe. Stop in and have dinner and enjoy views of the Tennessee River More...

Bluff View Art District was a beautiful setting for both our ceremony and reception. From start to finish, everything with BVAD was easy and stress-free because they are SO much more than just a venue. They not only provided and set up our spaces, they also provided delicious food and beverages and handled all of the catering needs - and that includes the wedding cake! I would host events with BVAD again in a heartbeat. More...

Bluff View Art District sits atop a hill overlooking the Tennessee River. It is definitely scenic, with some cool businesses clustered in the same area. There is a central parking lot that connects all of the businesses. There are some art galleries, a sculpture garden, a few cafes/restaurants and the bakery. Each building is kind of a work of art in itself. The buildings all look very historic yet well kept. The architecture is interesting and unique for sure. Although it's a small area there's some great places to visit. It's only a few minutes drive from the aquarium and the central area of downtown. I would definitely come back as it seems to be a gem of Chattanooga! More...

The Bluff View Bakery is located in the Bluff View Arts District, hence the name. The building evokes a sense that I had wandered into some European village and standing before me is a cross between a red brick cottage and a towering country home. For how big the building looks the part that the customer sees is quite small. Upon entering there is are a few carts loaded with different types of bread and there is an open door leading into the employee section where they are busy producing their beautiful product. This is decidedly a place where you choose the loaf and get on your way, there are no seats to linger. They had two types of bread available to sample. The employee was friendly and gave me a sample and helped me with my questions. I could not decide if I wanted to go the sweet or savory route, or perhaps the "in-between" plain route. They have many different interesting flavors but I decided to get something that would be more like a breakfast bread, so I settled on the raisin walnut batard. The bread was not sweet but had sweet morsels like the raisins in them. I really like this one! I would want to try a savory bread next time but the qualify is definitely there. Next time I'm in Chattanooga I will definitely stop by here again! Bluff View is very cool and unique bakery with great artisan bread. More...

The reason for my visit was a Cab wine tasting! The food and wine pairings were excellent! It was fun to learn about the wines and the regions where they were grown. Having a sheet to take notes was helpful. I just wish there was a little more room to take notes at the table. It didn't bother me too badly because the table was filled with delicious food and wine. GREAT BAKERY. I was visiting my mom in Chattanooga for the weekend after Thanksgiving when she ran out of bread. So we hopped into her car and drove over to Bluff View to get bread from the Bluff View Bakery. My mom must have passed 100+ places where she could have bought bread on the way from her house to BVB, but no. If there's bread in her house, it's bread from BVB. And now I understand why. Since I was there, I grabbed a few things myself and brought them back to Nashville. There was so much I wanted (sweet breads, rye breads), but I ultimately decided to get challah and a jalapeno cheddar boule. So good. Well baked bread is amazing. Poorly baked bread can be wrong in so many ways - dense, heavy, crumbly. Not the bread from BVB. Light and airy and wonderful flavor. Sometimes I think my mom can be a little loco. But not about this bread. Bread from BVB is just better! (Four stars only because it's a tiny place and there's really no way to walk around or stand even if there are other people inside with you.) TRY IT! More...

Such a beautiful area with artwork, a sculpture garden, restaurants, coffee house, amazing views of the river and so much more. It's right near the Hunter Museum as well, lending to that artistic feel. There is a bocce ball court, the most beautiful one I've ever seen. The whole area has a European feel to it. It's sort of hidden, but yet, right in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. There are so many things to explore and discover there. It really is a jewel in the crown of downtown. Not to be missed. There are a 100 reasons to love Chattanooga. This location is at least 10 of them all by itself. So close to downtown yet just far enough away that an uninformed tourist would completely miss out on it. It requires a visit not just multiple times because of all it offers (art shops, coffee shop, fine dining, bakery, etc), but also because it should be experienced during the day, at night, and in multiple seasons. The outdoor art and seating, the views of the river, and feeling of a village within a major city all make this beautiful place to get away. You are right next to the Hunter Museum of Art as well. Oh, planning to visit soon? They have their own Bed & Breakfast. Yeah, it's just that amazing. So hurry and see it for yourself soon.*Insider's Tip-This is a good place to park for the Hunter Museum and Walking Bridge, as both are less than a 5 minute walk way.-Bike rentals are at the entrance of the District, in case you feel walking is too slow paced.
