We feel terrible that it's taken us so long to give this review, but post wedding life has been busier than we could have imagined.

I'd like to start off by saying how incredibly lucky we were to come across Blue Velvet Images. We had been planning our Michigan wedding from Seattle, which had made it nearly impossible to meet with any Michigan based photographers. We were referred to Sandra (owner and lead photographer) by a friend and she was happy to work around our travel schedule. When we first met with her, she was very professional and friendly. Blue Velvet's portfolio is full of beautiful photographs. We were immediately impressed and eager to work with Sandra.

Sandra took the time in the days prior to the wedding to drive around the area and find the best locations for our after ceremony pictures with the bridal party. She knew when the sun was due to set and how to work with that to get the best quality images. Working with the sun actually helped with the timeline of our whole evening.

Blue Velvet images was very helpful making the entire evening flow smoothly and we couldn't be happier with the images that were captured of our wedding!

I booked with Sandra for a newborn/family session. My family and I (son, daughter, and husband) arrived at her studio and were very impressed. Sandra had set up several different props and backdrops. Clearly, she had spent a good amount of time setting up before I arrived. My son whom is 2 made this photo session very difficult and needless to say Sandra was VERY patient and worked with him wonderfully along with his siblings. She is a natural! Within a few days my pictures we available. Needless to say they were beyond what I expected and I was in tears! Loved them!! I highly recommend Sandra and plan on using her in the future! Sandra had photographed my sister in laws wedding and her photos turned out amazing, so my husband and I had no reservations in hiring her to photograph our wedding this summer. Sandra far exceeded our expectations for wedding photos!! She is so fun, involved, talented and just an overall wonderful person to work with. Not only does she take fabulous photos, but she's not afraid to tell you a piece of hair is out of place, or your smile is starting to look fake, etc. She responds to texts/emails in a very timely manner and works with your schedule to find what works. Sandra with Blue Velvet Images was absolutely amazing! She came highly recommended early in our search by our videographer. While researching photographers, we were really looking for 2 things: the quality of work and personality. From her website and samples, it was obvious that she enjoys what she does and knows how to capture those special moments. She really sealed the deal though when we met with her in person. She was very flexible on when and where to meet, and we instantly felt like she was someone we could be comfortable with, and seem more like a friend attending the wedding.

We wanted engagement photos in addition to the wedding photos. The day of our engagement shoot, she was so accommodating, gave great suggestions, and definitely helped two camera-shy people feel at ease :)

The day of the wedding, the wedding party was running very behind. Luckily Sandra already knew our timeline for the day, the important pictures we wanted to capture, and the locations we had to work with. She was great helping to keep us stay on schedule while not rushing us through each shot. Once we got our pictures back, we were honestly so happy!

Everything from start to finish with Sandra has been absolutely wonderful, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun, down-to-earth photographer who absolutely loves what she does!! More...

Sandra was such a great photographer! She captured every moment plus some that we wanted! I was pleased with all of communication we exchanged, as she was flexible in working with us as we lived 2 hours away and couldn't meet before the wedding. I especially loved that she didn't charge by the hour and stayed at the reception until everything we wanted was captured! Great photographer and great person! If you're looking for a great photographer who's reasonably priced go with Blue Velvet :) Sandra was so nice to work with. The pictures came out so beautiful and she took tons of them. Sandra and her crew were excellent from the planning process all the way through the reception - very easy to to work with. We had some organizational hiccups prior to the wedding when our photos were being taken (our fault - but who doesn't,) but Sandra and Co. rolled with it and made everything happen to perfection. It was a breathe of fresh air with them running the show and definitely took a lot of weight off our shoulders. After the wedding at the reception, when the stress was lifted and the fun began, they captured every moment to perfection and didnt overwhelm us with a paparazzi like atmosphere - we were still able to enjoy our wedding. Most importantly, however, is that our photos turned out great! I would strongly recommend using Blue Velvet images for your wedding or event - we will always be loyal and use her in the future! It was truly an honor and the best decision we could have made to have Sandra shoot our engagement and wedding pictures. She is so professional, creative, and talented, we would recommend her to EVERYONE that we know! I cannot say enough good things about our experience! We absolutely LOVE sandra! She made our wedding perfect! She is so easy to talk to and work with. The way she gets into your poses for your pictures really shows you how much she cares. I can not express how awesome Sandra was! She did our engagement and wedding photos. We did 3 engagement sessions, our summer session was in the water, fall was at Yates Cider Mill, and our winter session was at Wolcott Mills. We had our wedding at Fore Lakes Golf Course in Kimball, MI. Everything turned out so wonderful and the turn around time to get all of our pictures back was amazing! Even our wedding photos came back within a month or 2, I know some photographers take up to 6 months to get pictures done so I was shocked we got ours so soon. She was so wonderful to work with and it was amazing she was willing to jump right into Lake St. Clair with us for our pictures! The hardest thing has been choosing what pictures to put into frames, so I usually print a few for each frame so I can switch them out! THANK YOU SO MUCH SANDRA!! More...
