Landscape Design

Blue Tulips Landscape Design was friendly & approachable to work with. Garden design ideas were good and I was encouraged to put my spin on it as well. Very punctual!

Landscape Design

We selected Blue Tulips to undertake the design of a small cottage garden with limited space. Greg came up with some good ideas which we have incorporated into our final design which the landscape company can work from - many thanks.

Landscaping

On Greg's initial visit he recommended ways to implement my design ideas on a small and slightly sloping new build plot. We agreed on a circular lawn, which was levelled, and edged with bricks to match the house. Our old patio slabs were carefully lifted and reused round the back of the garage for a barbecue area. We had a new, much larger patio laid with beautiful slabs. His team of Andy and two others worked efficiently and professionally, making sure our driveway was protected with minimum disruption to our neighbours. Andy made a lovely modern raised bed, which he lined and is now home to three dwarf flamingo willow trees and some dwarf buddleia - very stylish. His woodworking skills were also needed for the bespoke trellis, giving extra height to our fence, which I have now planted with numerous clematis and jasmine. I would highly recommend Greg and his team and my husband and I are delighted with our lovely garden. More...

Hi Linda Thanks very much for your review It was a great pleasure to work with you Working your ideas into the sloping site and getting all the levels and scale right took some design work and the results are amazing. Enjoy your garden....Greg

Unfortunately our experience did not live up to the promises offered at the initial site visit. The steps that were put in on our steeply banked garden had a rough finish, using agricultural posts and edging wood.
We asked for this to all be made good, but this never happened.
Debris was left on site for us to remove after agreement for removal at initial visit and quote.
At the end of the job we gave a 6 point plan to rectify the things we were not happy about, but the money was taken but no constructive reply given.
Overall very disappointed.

Hi Rob Wow I have looked back at those 6 points Finding 30 buried tyres that cannot go into a skip was a supprise and you said you would deal with there disposal. You live in a very rustic cottage and surroundings. The wood bought from your local supplier who we have used before without any issues was suitable for the setting and there was no talk of planned timber. I personally sanded down any rough edges and ran my bare hands over the surfaces. I was on 10 day Covid isolation as my daughter had Covid so this may have annoyed you that i was not around all the time but my trusted crew were on site and in communication. All man hours and materials used to complete the project to its final specification were presented in a spreadsheet. Im sorry to see this kind of response. I guess its down to your visual expectations and my 10 day isolation. I have never had such bad feedback but will bear in mind your feedback for future projects. Kind Regards Greg

Greg Whale - Blue Tulips - came to create a small garden from absolutely nothing at a new build house in Shillingstone, Dorset. Greg and his team were superb. They understood exactly what we, as a retired couple, required and understood that we had left a flourishing garden behind and now required a new, easily managed garden that looked almost ‘established!’ A year on - it has to be seen to be believed! No exaggeration. If you are looking for someone to sensitively help you with your garden, I can most certainly recommend Blue Tulips - Greg and his team. Nothing else to touch them around here - I did a lot of researched and then found them! Highly recommended! More...

Services

My process is to visit site, discuss a brief, take pictures and measurements then draw up an outline plan of the site. I will then work on ideas and share with you two conceptual designs for consideration. We then narrow this down to a final design which comes with guidance notes for the landscapers. The cost of this service is normally £395.
