One of the most repeated comments about our wedding was how good the food was! Working with Katie was absolute perfection! From our initial contact to our follow up after the wedding, Katie was responsive, kind and fun to talk to. The pricing is extremely fair for such high quality food and service. Katie will work with you to put together a perfect menu for your taste and budget, as well as all the details that go into (linens, table settings, etc). After the ceremony, Katie came to say hello, like an old friend and made sure my husband and I (and the kids) had something to nibble on during photos. Katie and her team are professional and highly responsive. Since the wedding was out of state, we didn't have time for a tasting before selecting Blue Rocks. From the day we met Katie at our tasting, we loved her style. She made us an incredible meal on night one and we decided on her services that night on the way home. She and her staff impressed us from that point on. Katie took the time to listen to us, work with us, and accommodate our styles and special requests. Since we were doing some of the background work ourselves given a family catering background, she also gracefully let us take the lead on some pieces that would typically be her responsibility. The food at the event was absolutely delicious and we've been getting comments ever since that nnight. Amazing grilled cheese appetizers, and the buffet was beautiful and didn't compromise the integrity/deliciousness of the food. I probably ate about 1000 scallops and bacon. The team was extremely knowledgeable about the wedding catering process and we loved that they used all local foods and vendors. Plus, her prices were SO reasonable - Blue Rocks Catering is worth every penny.Given the nor'easter and the flooding of our venue day and night of, Katie and her staff pivoted, shifted, and ran with every fire drill and situation that came their way, putting on an exceptional event for us. An outsider would have never known the stress they probably went through that day. One of our top requests was that the bar line never get past 2-3 people, and the bartenders kept it going all night. Everyone was so happy with the service and impressed with the quality of the staff.Extra special shoutout to that incredible staff, who went above and beyond to trudge through the mud and rain for probably close to 10 hours and still smiled at us every time we saw them.Amazing service, highly recommend. Pricing is entirely fair and they were able to work with our budget to create exactly what we envisioned. Their attention to detail in remarkable and the entire staff is beyond gracious. As a wedding DJ I have had my fair share of wedding food from venues and overpriced caterers. For my own wedding it was a no brainer.
..Blue Rocks! Katie and her team did such an amazing job from every aspect start to finish. My pregnant wife is now craving "that salmon!!" I even tried making our own coconut rice ...but its just not the same!

They ensure that the event is put together in all aspects, not just their parts. Blue Rocks understands what it takes to put on an event and make sure it is run smoothly from start to finish.
Blue Rocks makes sure the hosts/bridal party are always pleased with the service and check in several times throughout the event. Blue Rocks knows what they are doing and are the best company to choose to cater your next event. The food is amazing and made to your preference.

We recently moved to Rhode Island from Ohio. For our Son’s Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding, my wife and I wanted to provide an amazing New England style feast for our guests. We were referred to Blue Rocks Catering, by a “Food Snob” friend of mine. And he was spot on. Blue Rocks Catering teamed up with Behan Family Farms to create a magnificent rehearsal dinner. Katie and her team from Blue Rocks knocked it out of the park with an unbelievable meal. And Matt Behan set up a raw Bar that was outstanding. Our guests were shocked when dinner was announced. They thought the Raw Bar, Chowder/Crab cakes, and mini Lobster Rolls WERE the dinner. They were completely surprised with whole lobsters, fried chicken, mac-N-cheese, corn on the cob, and baked potatoes, followed by desserts. Then the following night, Katie and crew may have exceeded the rehearsal, with the Wedding menu. The hand passed Hors D'oeuvres were phenomenal. The Chicken Piccata and Penne Ala Vodka were fabulous. But the Beef tenderloin and the sauce served with it were indescribable. All the rest of the sides were just as amazing. As if that were not enough, topping it all off were the people. Katie and Matt are two of the nicest individuals we have ever met. And the staff that Katie brought with her, the servers, the bartender, her kitchen assistants ….. We used Blue Rocks Catering for our wedding with 180 guests a few weeks ago in Newport at Fort Adams. Katie and her crew at Blue Rocks were a PLEASURE to work with, from our first meeting all the way up to the wedding day itself. The food was phenomenal, and there were so many choices when it came to hors d'oeuvres and meal options. She made it very easy to customize what we wanted and how we wanted it set up and displayed for both the cocktail hour and the reception. Many of our guests raved about how delicious all the food was! Moreover, Katie was an absolute delight to work with. She was fun, helpful, and extremely reliable. She even let us stop by the day before to drop off some booze for her to prepare a sangria overnight for one of our cocktail options. During the cocktail hour and reception, she made sure one of her workers was constantly watching for us and getting us drinks or anything else we needed while we socialized with everyone there. Ingrid tries real hard to get the best prices for her clients. She is very knowledgeable about pairing the perfect wines for her menus.I have had the pleasure of attending many functions she has catered. The food is amazing, creative and delicious. Her staff is friendly, professional and fun. Pardon me while I gush about my experience with these caterers.Blue Rocks was really something special. From the first response to our initial inquiry, they always got back to us quickly and with complete answers to our questions. We arranged for a tasting in January to discuss our August wedding and left impressed with all the food we tried and feeling confident that Ingrid and Katie were the ones we wanted to head this important aspect of our big day. My husband and I are both in fine dining, and it's very rare for us to be completely relaxed and impressed by food and service, but we were both beyond thrilled. They transformed our venue into the perfect casual, sweet, beach-front look we were looking for. They made sure we always had our favorite drink and even made me a plate of food so I'd take a second to have some dinner in the midst of all the excitement. Our guests were raving about the food and I received so many compliments on how great the service was. They were so easy to work with from the very beginning, working within our budget to make sure we got everything we wanted. It was also great that they were fine with us bringing our own desserts and wine (they would also have let us bring our own liquor, but their price for open bar was so reasonable that we didn't feel the need). When our wedding day arrived, I knew everything would go smoothly on their end and that there was nothing to worry about, and that's exactly what happened. Blue Rocks catered our daughters baptism reception. First of all it was amazing to have someone do all the cooking and preparing. But not only that the food was so delicious! The title is misleading, since Blue Rocks Catering is also a Cafe/Sandwich shop that is one of the best I've ever experienced. Their specialty sandwiches are amazing, including the "Gooseberry" (roast turkey, cranberry and sage stuffing) and the "Fort Adams" (grilled chicken, avocado, tomato, basil, spinach and fresh mozzarella). There's a counter with a few seats, but most people are here for the take-out. Looks also like a popular spot for summer residents picking up ready-made lobster salad, chicken pot pies, and other savories. A young friendly staff is very attentive and our family loved the overall vibe of the place. Highly recommend for gathering picnic provisions before heading to Fort Adams or other parks near Ocean Drive. Also, a refreshing distance away from the craziness of Bannister Wharf and Downtown.
