Blue Mango Lodge

Mon ami et moi avion passé 2 nuits au Blue Mango Lodge et nous nous sommes régalés. Le personnel est très agréable le cadre verdoyant est magnifique (on se serait même pas cru à Johannesburg), la cuisine était très bonne, les repas m'ont d'ailleurs agréablement surpris, belle salle à manger (aquarium et tables bien dressées), les chambres disposaient de tout et Stevie le gérant du Lodge a été au top (il est même venu nous chercher et nous a ramené a l'aéroport).||Rien à dire

My wife and I stayed here 1 night and our only regret was not being able to stay longer. Room and service was excellent. Stevie was a great host and the gardens were beautiful. I stayed at the Blue Mango a few weeks ago with my friend, and we had a brilliant experience.||||Stevie came to pick each of us up at the airport at ridiculous times, and he was punctual and great company regardless. ||||He let me use the room as soon as we arrived even though I wasn't supposed to have access to it yet.||||Both times, the room was impeccable, with beautiful fresh beds and facilities to make coffee, tea or infusions.||||I was personally very pleasantly surprised by the fact that our shared room had TWO double beds, as opposed to a shared bed, which is what we expected -this said, just one of those beds would have been perfect too.||||We had one lunch and two dinners at the restaurant and each meal was absolutely gorgeous. The chef there is simply exceptional and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, even if they were not staying the night! As a bonus, the prices of the meals were really reasonable too.||||To top all this up, everyone there is so helpful and friendly that I just cannot wait to be back to the Blue Mango so that the starts and ends of my South African trips continue to be truly happy experiences. ||||Thank you!! It it a lovely intimate place, very quiet with a beautiful garden. The owner Stevie was so friendly and helpful. He drove us to the airport and agreed to park our cars at his place for 5 days, he even fetched us even though we came back very late, he was so friendly. We had a lovely one night stay at blue mango. Stevie (owner) picked us up from the airport and dropped is the next morning to pick up our rental car. We choose to do this because they say it is not so safe to drive at night from tambo AirPort. It was quite late but the chef from the Okapi restaurant was present so he cooked us amazing zebra and galjoen fish. Both dishes were royal in size and very tasty. Salut, je laisse mon avis sur le Blue mango lodge, c'est une résidence avec des petit appartements mais canon vraiment trop bien, le service, les gens sont trop sympa et veille toujours à ce que tout se passe bien. ||Ils vous conseil sur chaque point ou aller et ne pas aller et le responsable joue même le rôle de taxi pour vous emmener ou vous devez y aller en tte sécurité !! sans faire payer grâce à lui j'ai vraiment pu profiter de mes vacances en ces lieux pénard. J'ai fait d'autre endroit où loger mais le personnel compte pour moi et la c'était le meilleur endroit !! Our group of 18 traveled from U.S. to Johannesburg summer 2017. We wanted to spend several days in Johannesburg before going on safari and then several days in Johannesburg before flying back to the U. S. In looking at a place that could accommodate our large group we chose the Blue Mango Lodge.Stevie the owner was quick to respond to my never ending questions. He made all the arrangements for pick up at the airport. We were not sure what we wanted to do in Johannesburg. Stevie was flexible, gave us suggestions and then arranged for transport. This guy seriously helped us make arrangements for all of our tours. Sometimes we needed a small bus to transport 18 people or several small vehicles for the days everyone was going off in different directions. Breakfast was provided, and it was fresh and delicious every morning. We ended up eating our dinner meals at the Blue Mango as well. The chef prepared meals for us that kept us coming back for more. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The grounds were well groomed and provided relaxation and enjoyment. We were treated so kindly that we felt like family. The value would be hard to beat. We were pleased with the cost and service we received. We hope to return to the Blue Mango again. We miss the place and hospitality, a true gem. More...

The Blue Mango Lodge is a little corner of heaven. We stayed there two nights (after landing in JoBurg and then two weeks later before flying back to France). The property looks stunning and has a huge garden with beautiful trees/plants and tons of birds. The rooms were lovely and clean, the beds were comfortable. The food was simply outstanding (the restaurant offers veggie options which was a huge plus for us) and very cheap by European standards. The owner Stevie picked us up from / dropped us off at the airport, which was great as it meant we didn't have to worry about getting a taxi. Everyone there was super friendly and laid back: Stevie, his son, the restaurant's chef, and the lady (Delia, I think?) who waited us at the restaurant and with whom we had long and fascinating chats - she even taught us some self-defence moves! :p) I absolutely recommend this lodge and would definitely go again. Voor de tweede keer overnacht bij de Blue Mango lodge. Keurig opgehaald op het vliegveld. Mooie en schone kamers met een heerlijk bed. Een oase van rust na een lange vliegreis. Via de lodge geregeld dat we met chauffeur naar het Apartheidmuseum konden gaan. Dit was wel prijzig (120 euro voor 4 uur met 3 personen), maar de kennismaking en de gesprekken met de chauffeur maakten dit goed. Wat een aardige man! Heeft ons meengenomen naar een zaak met super lekkere biltong. Als we in de toekomst weer naar Zuid Afrika gaan, verblijven we zeker weer hier. 1 klein puntje: de badkamer is zeer groot, de douchecabine daar en tegen is erg klein. We have stayed at Blue Mango several times now over the past three years and it just keeps getting better with each stay. The rooms are very nice and spacious, the location is just 12 minutes from the airport and the staff at the lodge are friendly and welcoming . In fact, Stevie and his family who run this B&B always go above and beyond to the point where you feel like you are staying with your own family. I recently had my extended family visit from the U.S. and knew that after the long 18 hour flight, they would just want to rest for a day or two before heading up to Botswana. As usual, this was the perfect place near the airport -- and somehow Stevie manages free pickups and drop-offs in his busy schedule. He is always there, on time, as promised. I would be remiss not to mention the meals at Blue Mango (now called Okapi Restaurant) which is another reason we stay there ... the food is always phenomenal and we look forward to the Oxtail (and now the Zebra) each time we come. If you get stuck in Johannesburg overnight, or just want a nice place to rest up before or after a long flight, this is your place. More...

Beautiful garden, delicous scrambles eggs at breakfast (highly recommended) and a nice place to sleep. The owner can tell you a lot of things over a drink and he knows which places are worth visiting and which ones to avoid.
