Fabulous afternoon for my daughters 13th Birthday. The girls had a fabulous time. Dawn was superb giving the girls background on where chocolate comes from. Different kinds of chocolate and more importantly a chance to taste various chocolate. The girls made some fabulous chocolates treats to take home. Julie, is simply wonderful. With a new twist in her business she is helping brides keep costs to a minimum with DIY lessons. In one evening I learned how to tie a simple bouquet, how to use different textures to create a simply stunning posy. I'm now fully excited and less daunted to put my own flowers together. Myself and a friend attended this chocolate making workshop this morning and would highly recommend it to anyone. Dawn was lovely, very knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in. We learnt all about the coco bean and how chocolate is made. We also got to sample some delicious chocolates as well as making our own. It was also lovely being able to package up our chocolates in presentation bags ready to take home. I enjoyed the chocolate workshop this morning because there are some facts about chocolate as well as the practical side of actually making some chocolates to take home. The Summerhouse is spotlessly clean - at least it was before we started making the chocolates! Dawn was very relaxed about the accidental drips and drops and indeed it was very quickly made pristine again after our workshop in readiness for the afternoon session. It is located in a residential street so parking might be tedious, but it was not far from the nearest main road so arriving and departing were very smooth. I can thoroughly recommend this whether as a gift to someone else or just for your own enjoyment. The usual group size is six and Dawn made everyone feel comfortable with being in a small group, so even if you are going on your own, as I was today, you will soon be put at ease.
