We recently visited Black Walnut Point Inn. We have been guests so many times, I've lost count. The rooms are clean with great views. The breakfasts are yummy. The guests are lovely and interesting. Bob and Tracy are consummate and entertaining hosts. And the sunsets and sunrises are phenomenal. This is a quiet piece of paradise on the Eastern shore!! More...

Absolutely wonderful sunrises and sunsets on this beautiful point Tilghman Island of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We booked for 2 days in the mid 1800’s main house. Terry and Bob are gracious innkeepers and greeted us with a warm welcome, but we also found plenty of quiet private time to enjoy the migrating birds and butterflies in the yard, surrounded by the bay. Breakfast was fresh with eggs from their own hens with sauces from their organic, sustainable garden. In the end, we decide to extend our stay another day and hated to move on as planned. A lovely setting for a wedding, by the way. More...

A lovely historic inn which sits on the beautiful point of Tilghman Island, Maryland. The innkeepers are friendly yet provide the feeling of privacy for couples trying to get away from it all. Breakfast was excellent with many things coming from their extensive garden, including the eggs from their own chickens. We extended our stay an extra day because we didnt want to leave. More...

Both of us loved the peace and quiet. The breakfast every morning was great. Being by the water was very cathartic. We were totally relaxed. My wife and I will definitely return for another stay and to see the owners, Bob and Tracy, again. They were an absolute delight. More...

Loved laying in a hammock at dawn hearing and seeing the birds above and around me. Loved sitting by the pool in the afternoon -and having it all to myself -- the cold water so refreshing on an August day. Enjoyed walking, and sitting on the dock at dusk. My second floor room was charming and spacious. Furnishings in the common area were a bit fatigued, but the large screened porch was a wonderful feature. Hope to return. More...

We arrived in the afternoon, immediately spent an hour on our cabin's screened-in porch -- watching the wind in the trees, listening to the water lapping against the shoreline a few feet away and the birds. In the evening, we walked the grounds and watched the sun set. The next morning, we could see the sunrise from out bedroom window, then enjoyed a convivial breakfast, listing to Bob deliver a dramatic reading from his book and chatting with the other guests. We left reluctantly, realizing this was the quiet, peaceful mini-vacation we had needed. More...

When you want your team to get out of the city, to come together and reflect on your vision and mission; plus unwind - this is perfect. We were able to totally relax. The introverts had amazing amounts of space for reflective quiet space; and the extroverts could socialize happily; allowing everyone exactly what they needed. We were able to watch the sunrises, and sunsets; have a BBQ, and share stories around the fire. Memory making for everyone. More...

Black Walnut Point Inn is different. Nothing super fancy. Nothing plastic. Nothing trendy. Just one of the most peaceful, beautiful, thought-provoking, spirit-cleansing places we have ever been. The fact that Mother Nature decided to create this fragile point in the middle of the Bay is a part of it. As is seeing the sun come up to the east over the Choptank in the morning. As is seeing it set to the west over the Bay in the evening. As is the silence of the quiet Choptank and Bay waters lapping outside your cabin. As are the eagles. The ospreys. The gulls. All this is fabulous, but what separates this place from almost anywhere we have been is the owners. Two lovely guys who can talk omelet and spirit at the same time. They work their fingers to the bone keeping the place going for us, for their garden, their turkeys, their chickens, their pear trees. But it becomes clear that their heavier lifting is trying to explore, explain, and maybe understand the wonder of human life with its challenges and discoveries. They are fascinating company. They will leave you entirely alone, if that's your druthers. So go, by all means, and just one of the three attractions (setting, accommodations, hosts) will make you want to return. The trifecta is more than we could take in during one visit, so we will definitely be going back. More...

Enjoyed this historic B&B at the tip of Tilghman Island. Very nice grounds surround the house. Lots of birds (eagles, osprey, terns, etc) and a lovely dock to watch the sunrise from. In the evening you can sit on the porch in a rocking chair and enjoy a liquid refreshment (BYOB) while watching the sunset.. or take it in from one of several hammocks on the grounds. The hosts (Bob and Tracy) were very friendly and provided great breakfasts each day that we were there. We stayed in the Talbot Room in the main house and it was comfortable. If you are coming here to use Wi-Fi or watch TV, this isnt for you. But if you want a relaxing getaway...this is the place. Would definitely visit here again! More...

Beautiful location and the pool was very nice. The breakfast was underwhelming. It was a Monday morning but they charge the same price for Sun as they do for Fri and Sat night then they should serve just the same level of breakfast, sorry, just saying. We saw the menu on a chalkboard from Sunday morning and it was French toast some soufflé and country skillet potatoes. Our breakfast was just Zucchini bread and an omelette and the omelette was not very tasty. No fruit. My husband and I stay at Bed and Breakfasts frequently and this is probably the first time there has not been any fruit served of any kind. The Inn is in need of updates so it’s a little dingy in some respects. I gave 4 stars instead of 3 because of the owners and location. More...

My wife and I have celebrated our wedding anniversary for the past two years at BWPI, and I can't recommend this place highly enough. Beautifully positioned at the end of Tilghman Island, between the Chesapeake and the Choptank, BWPI offers stunning panoramic views of the sunrise and sunset, excellent accommodations, great breakfast, friendly hosts (Bob and Tracy are just awesome people), and more. We favour the cabins when we stay (roomy for two, with a kitchenette and screened in porch), but the rooms in the Big House are fabulous, too. Add to this that you're minutes from day sails out of Tilghman Island and/or Saint Michaels--not to mention the shopping and dining available in the latter--and it's the perfect getaway for a weekend or a week. It's not cheap. But then again, some things are worth the price, and BWPI is most definitely worth it! As a busy couple with always too much going on, we look so forward to our annual retreat to Tilghman Island, the warm welcome of Bob and Tracy, and a chance to do absolutely nothing for a weekend.
