Recently had our (20-year-old) water heater die. Contacted some places, ended up with insane quotes because apparently people now tack on hundreds of dollars just because of your zip code (yay gentrification I guess). Finally bought the water heater myself, and then got a few more, also insane, quotes just to install. Went on HomeAdvisor as a last ditch effort. Bill Frusco's contacted me regarding the job in less than 30 minutes after I posted. The woman I spoke to was very nice and very professional, took all my information and promised to call back with a quote. Called me back a very short time later with a very good price, and within an hour I had an appointment for that week. I was lucky, their tech was even able to come out earlier than planned. My roommate was the one who was home, said the tech was polite and professional. The job itself looks very good, and so far so good. On August 6th, 2019, I had a new Curbtrap and Lateral pipe replaced in the front of my home by Bill Frusco Plumbing Co. I must say that I was very pleased and happy with their work. They were also easily accessible by phone if I had any questions or concerns. I joined a special program sponsored by the City of Philadelphia called American Water Resources. It covers repairs and new street pipes for Philadelphia residents. You just have to pay a monthly charge which is very very reasonable for the consumer. It is a great program!! They contracted me out to Bill Frusco Plumbing Company. I recommend all Philadelphians to join American Water Resources since it will dramatically cut the high costs of hiring a private plumber. If there were more stars to give, I would have. The job: replace 30 feet of sewer line from street and reconnect inside my home (including ‘P’ trap at the street & ‘Y’ storm connector at the foundation) in Center City. Eight feet of sidewalk, under a courtyard wall, across a low patio and under a raised patio to the house, 25 of the 30 feet was a ‘hand-dig’. Issi, who was ultimately the crew boss on the job, and Jacob came out and did the estimate, listened to me and then explained what had to happen. We scheduled the job & permits through the office (who always followed up as they said they would). On the day of the job, they were on time with a full crew. The real feel temperature that day was over 100 degrees. I have never seen a crew work as hard as these men. The job was promised for one day, and that’s what it took: they stayed til 10 pm and did the last two hours in the rain. And by the way, they made sure the patios and sidewalks were cleaned off and protected before they left - very professional! Issi kept me informed thru the job. Andrew McInnes,with the prompt admin support of Dana and Kelly,arrived and diagnosed the problem we thought I had with my gas hot water heater,thanks to Kelly's patience on the phone. He explained the remedy,the cost and the part he could get within minutes and fixed my hot water heater. He was polite,informed and willing to teach me about the pilot light; the way to turn it on and a detector I can get for very little cost,to prevent a leak to my neighbor's unit below. When our sink clogged up last night (don't put artichokes in your disposal) we searched for a local plumber. Bill Frusco was our 1st call. Dana answered the phone when I called at 8:02 and took down all of my information. She called me back at noon with an ETA for the plumber. 30 minutes later Andrew arrived. He was professional and informative throughout the entire process. He cleared the clog in under 30 minutes from start to finish. He even explained what not to put down your disposal. We had a leak and needed fast service. We arranged for Frusco to come and they would offer a price for the work upon inspection. Within 24 hours we were serviced and were pleasantly surprised with the price. We had just had a shower set replaced and paid way too much, we were skeptical.They were clean, fast and the work was well performed. They left us better than we had been before they showed up by updating the valves to more current. Dave was our guy, and we were absolutely thrilled with the result and the price. I called to get an estimate after my home warranty refused coverage. The gentleman that came out was professional and answered any question that I has. I'd like to thank the owner for responding to my post about the high price I was charged to have my heater repaired. He explained that during frigid temperatures the prices they charge are competitive with other heating companies. He said all heating companies charge premium rates during cold spells. Although I don't feel it's right to charge higher than normal prices the colder the weather is (excluding "emergency" service of course), and that it's not fair to the customer that these companies do this, I shouldn't have singled Bill Frusco Plumbing out. The pipe connector from my Garbage disposer sprang a leak. It looked like a simple job to me, so I went out to Home Depot and bought the parts I thought I needed. I took apart the plumbing, and things went downhill from there. I simply could not get it back together. The stupid drain pipe thingy kept slipping off the disposer outlet pipe.
I watched YouTube videos about how easy the job is supposed to be—ain’t I stupid: nothing I did worked. Took the thing apart and put it back together several times, but, no go. At this point I began to lose my religion; and the « F-Bomb » and other assorted nasties, escaped from my lips; and my wife rushed in and demanded I stop doing whatever I was doing and call a plumber.
Thankfully, for once, I listened immediately. This was sunday, and Bill Frusco advertises in our church bulletin, so, I took a chance and called his office. A nice, young, sounding lady took my call, and passed it on. I was called back and told I would be contacted sometime on monday, and I was.
A technician was dispatched to my home, later, on monday to scope out whatever needed to be done. I also had a problem with my shower leaking and added that to the job.
The technician needed to go out for a part, because my shower is so old that it’s hard to find parts, so he bought a new part. He returned and fixed the shower, and, while he was at it, also readjusted the bathtub fixtures handles.
He then went to the kitchen and had the disposer drain together in 10 minutes. He spent about 15 minutes filling the sink with water and testing the disposer. Everything works great.
All that for only $245.
