This practice may not appeal to everyone, but it’s always been a great experience for me. Ninety minutes of extreme heat forces breath control and mindfulness that compares to activities like surfing or boxing. It’s a no-nonsense style that requires the student to listen, focus and do what you’re told (a challenge for many). The ‘Bikram’ namesake has (deservedly) had controversy, but that in no way represents individually owned practices and teachers. Katrina does a great job. She’s extremely knowledgeable and if you enter with an open mind, you’ll leave her practice better. More...

This is a great studio with an even greater teacher. I only began Bikram Yoga when I started this class back in March of this year. Katrina has been the one to help me gain a stronger flexibility and a tougher mental strength by believing in me. I've never felt better than after taking this class. I am drenched in sweat, but come out feeling energized, balanced and healthy. Its helped me lose weight, breath much even and deeper and connect with my body's different systems. Katrina is a professional and knowledgeable teacher who wants the best for everyone. She's intelligent and caring both as an instructor and a person, who always remembers you by name. I am honest when I say that I love this class and recommend it to anyone who wants a tough sweat, an actual Bikram class, and *with consistent attendance*, legitimate results. More...

This practice has changed my life. Katrina is a very knowledgeable and experienced teacher who gives so much personalized instruction and attention. She truly cares about each student who comes to class and ensures that their practice is safe and healthy. She freely shares all the knowledge she’s gained over the many years of personal practice and teaching and is always available to discuss questions. The room is kept at a safe and reasonable temperature. You leave this practice feeling cleansed, more energized, and healthy. Katrina creates a clean and beautiful space for this wonderful practice. Bikram is an amazing, healing, strengthening yoga. There is nothing else like it in the world. It will change you from the inside out. Katrina is a long time teacher and practitioner who cares about her students. She helps guide them to third best practice each time. Her studio is clean and beautiful. Hello! My name is João Antunes, I am 38 years old, a merchant mariner (chief mate / Massachusetts Maritime graduate), surfer and love a pretty active lifestyle. I have been training and competing Brazilian jiu-jítsu for almost 20 years. Also, fought MMA professionally. I have pushed my body beyond its natural limits consistently and by doing it I have developed serious spine / cervical problems, feeling neck pain to an incapacitating point where I wasn't able to perform daily activities such as walk, lift a grocery bag or sleep. Diagnosed by my doctor with shortage of space between every single cervical vertebrae, a disc shift that was compressing my nerves and loss of strength on the left arm, lead me to take tons of medicine and had a cortisone shot on my spine. I desperately need to stretch my spine, relax the supporting muscle structure around it and gain / increase space between the vertebrae to hopefully have a healthy spine again.That is where South Shore Brikram Yoga came into play! After only 3 sessions I was able to relax the supporting muscles, neck pain slowly decreased and able to sleep deeply without pain (which I haven't been able for a couple of years). A big thanks to Katrina and her brikam yoga classes! Last but not least as she says "you have to be consistent and progress is slow" at least now I know I am moving in the right direction to recovery! More...

Bikram Yoga South Shore feels like home. Katrina is so warm and welcoming. The studio is always clean and kept at a safe temperature. Practicing with Katrina has helped me become happier, healthier and more confident. I've found that the health benefits from consistent practice are amazing. Glowing skin, toned muscles and weight loss are just a few of the side effects. But it's the internal health benefits that keep me coming back. After a 90 minute class I leave feeling like I've had a facial, a massage and a workout with a personal trainer. I can honestly say that taking that first class nine months ago was one of the best decisions I've ever made. More...

Although I am an inconsistent practicer, I know Bikram is one of the only things that literally enhances my life. Bikram makes you take a minute (or 90) for yourself. .. reminds you how to breathe; is a workout and a full body massage at the same time; and gives you peace. Not to mention - a few classes and you'll drop some lbs and have clearer skin! I have fallen in love with Bikram Yoga South Shore. Katrina (owner and teacher) has a beautiful studio, and its clear to see she truly cares about her yogis. The people I have had class with and had the chance to speak with so far are amazing and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow's practice. Namaste. More...
