My husband and I are now using BIC for the second time. There is something to be said for doing it right. The monies paid in no way can ever compare to the levels of peace of mind we have when BIC deals with our case. Since our initial spouse visa application submitted in Cape Town JP has basically held our hand every step of the way. Now that we are renewing he is still keeping a watchful eye like a guardian angel, but has trusted Verity to take the reigns and lead us further. We started our journey with Breytenbachs in Cape Town 4 years ago where Debbie snd JP supported us with an excellent service to be able to get our Ancestral visas and our move to the UK in 2015. I moved to the UK 6 years ago as an entrepreneur, and yesterday my citizenship application was approved. It's impossible to explain how much work goes into such a venture, how stressful it is, and how much help and guidance you need along the way. On my particular visa, there were so many boxes to tick, so many requirements, so many things that had to happen in a specific way, at a specific time, and so forth. I guess you could figure it out on your own, but let me tell you, good luck with that! It's not cheap to use a service like Breytenbachs, but in my case it was worth it. They helped me in the research phase, getting the initial visa, when I arrived in the UK they offered guidance in setting up and running the business, after three years they helped me to extend my Visa, after 5 years they helped me to get my indefinite leave to remain, after 6 years they helped me to apply for citizenship... Writing it out like that in a few sentences doesn't do it justice. In reality, it's an enormous amount of work, stress, money, etc. My indefinite leave to remain application alone was like three bibles worth of paperwork! Verity was extremely efficient and knowledgeable throughout and my primary point of contact from the start of my venture till the very end. Hannes on the other hand always knew what was going on with my case. He was genuinely invested in my venture and hands on involved, often weighing in with detailed emails, and sometimes just a bit of encouragement. If you're struggling on your own in a foreign country, it means a lot when someone sends you an encouraging email in Afrikaans - keep up the good work, things will work out fine, etc. There is a personal touch with Breytenbachs, they really take pride in what they do, and in my case, went over and above. They're not perfect and there's certainly room for improvement, as is the case with any organisation, but I can definitely recommend them. Be warned however, this whole mission is not easy - it will take a toll on your wallet and your mental health. It doesn't surprise me one bit that people just give up half way through. I instructed Ms Laya Strydom (ably assisted by Ms Megan Brown) of Breytenbachs to act on my behalf in applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain and thereafter British citizenship, and as a result of their thorough knowledge and highly professional skill, both these applications were approved by the Home Office without delay, and within the stated time frames.
