I have been going to BetterNow for a considerable time now. I see Sarah who is a fabulous Osteopath and has worked wonders on my back. I am a Barber so stand all day with my arms up using my scissors and comb all day. After years of my occupation it took a toll! Sarah has done a great job! We started with a session every 2 weeks cos she had her work cut out! I now see her on a 6 weekly basis to keep me mobile. My posture is greatly improved and I use the exercises she suggests to help myself.Sarah is a very genuine young lady who is always ready with advice and a very friendly attitude.I also see Leah on occasion for general chiropodist treatments. She could see immediately the source of my problems and has contacts with foot surgeons with whom she can liaise over difficult problems. How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?
It is an absolute minefield out there with so much conflicting information, what I can offer you is a completely individualised nutrition plan. I specialise in tailoring nutrition to reduce inflammation within your body, so if you suffer from IBS, fibromyalgia or a similar autoimmune type disease your diet could be exacerbating your symptoms. This where I come in - I will literally ‘unpick’ your diet and if necessary teach you how to shop for, prepare and cook your food. “We are what we eat”, they say, there is a lot of truth in that. Let me look at how you eat and see if I can improve your wellbeing.
What do you love most about your job?
I love teaching people and helping them understand how poor nutrition impacts on their health. There is no greater reward than seeing patients’ symptoms improve. It’s also great to get to know patients and help them on their food journey.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I joined betterNOW in 2018 having moved down from Scotland where I had run a very busy nutritional therapy practice. BetterNOW is a really friendly practice with a lovely atmosphere.

You will get a highly individualised and personal service with as much hand holding as you need. Podiatry (formally known as Chiropodists)
We have 2 Degree qualified Podiatrists, Leah Claydon and Lisa Johnson. They have between them 35 years of experience. We offer everything from regular routine footcare to highly specialised biomechanics. We make insoles and orthoses, offer prescription footwear, we do gait analysis, verruca needling, SWIFT microwave treatment for verrucae and warts, ingrown toenail surgery, nail reconstruction, corns, calluses, sports injuries, padding and strapping and we treat all manner of foot infections. If you have a foot problem - we can fix it!
Physiotherapy
We have a very experienced male physiotherapist with years of experience within the NHS and private practice. Ola is a very friendly chap who is qualified to treat all ages. Ola is also a lower limb mechanics specialist and can advise on training programmes, prescribe orthoses and perform complex gait analysis. Ola also is a specialist in rehabilitating the elderly and falls prevention. Got an injury that needs manual therapy or strapping? No problem, Ola can help. Ola is covered by most of the leading insurance companies.
Dietitian
Nutritional Therapist or Dietitian? Dietitians are all about food and diagnosis - for example, if you are a diabetic and want to manage your glycaemic control and need to understand foods and how they interact with your drugs - then a dietitian is for you. Got an eating disorder? Need to lose or gain weight? Need a tailored eating plan to match your exercise or sport routine then see our dietitian. Think you could have Crohns, are Ceoliac or have IBS ... get diagnosed by your dietitian. A dietitian is a more medical standardised approach. Gary Davidson, our dietitian, specialises in diabetes, works for Peterborough Hospital NHS as a senior dietitian, runs 2 boxing gyms, has more kids than we can count and is a super nice guy.
Acupuncture
Leah, our acupuncturist trained for 4 years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine and gained a BSc (Hons). Integrated means Traditional Chinese and 5 Element Acupuncture but Leah also has 30years of conventional Western medicine experience. Leah is also a healer and has lived long enough to have developed a strong empathy with her patients. Leah's specialisms are cancer treatment support, emotional wellbeing, de-stressing, re-emerge sing and aches and pains. You will find her friendly, professional and understanding.
Osteopathy
Sarah is our lovely osteopath - Sarah has been with BetterNOW for 4 years and has a loyal following. She is a friendly, chatty lady with a background of having played ladies county Cricket! Sarah treats all musculoskeletal conditions and has a special interest in sports injuries, pregnancy and new mums and getting new babies settled. Sarah uses traditional and cranial Osteopathy. Sarah is empathetic and very experienced and has completed a large amount of continuous professional development. She often works closely with the practice physio and Podiatrists when necessary. She is also expert in exercise prescription and strapping techniques.
