I hired Bethany for an in home photo shoot and I could not be happier with the outcome!!! She brought a makeup artist with her to make sure I was pampered and looked my best, and stickers and little rewards for my girls to keep them engaged and entertained throughout the shoot. She was so professional and respectful and truly a joy. I will never go back to a regular photographer again. We couldn't be any happier with our engagement photos! There are SEVERAL photographers in the Woodland/Davis area and Bethany came highly recommended and did not disappoint! We met at the coffee shop, she showed us some of her work and we ended up purchasing a wedding/engagement photo package (competitive pricing). In the engagement photo session - she had two gals come and do our hair and make-up at our home. She came to the house while we were getting ready and we were able to hang out and get comfortable before the session. I'm notoriously awkward in photos so it was nice to break the ice beforehand (her gift of sparking wine in a can kind of helped too). She was extremely creative - taking photos through the kitchen window while we prepared a picnic...took photos with our dog! So many more. I was anticipating hating all photos because I typically do. SHE CAPTURED SO MANY AWESOME MOMENTS! It was so awesome to see our love come through every single photo. She has an incredible eye and made us look magazine worthy. We recently had our "lifstyle" session with Bethany. I was a bit anxious going into it, but she put all of us at ease and made the whole experience fun. I loved that it was in our home. We spend so much time here collecting and curating everything to our exact taste, so it's nice to have included what is our style in this snapshot of our lives. The pictures turned out great, she didn't make us do anything cheesy. While our children may look back at our photos and laugh it won't be because we are all wearing matching denim outfits tilting our heads at a perfect 45 degree angle. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The most important element of a great portrait is you! Capturing the natural expressions of my clients relaxed and having fun makes the most beautiful image every time.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like to get to know you and learn how you spend your time. I want to document your real life in all it's unique beauty!
What do you love most about your job?
I love connecting with people, and really learning about what how they live their best life. I create an authentic collection of images of them that show how awesome I see them. My favorite part of my job, though, is watching them see how gorgeous they are just being themselves!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started taking pictures as a way of journaling my daily life. I quickly became obsessed, and here we are! I believe that everyone has a story made up of who they are and their relationships with people. I learned that photographing people had to be about telling these stories; starting with my own family.

Birth Photography
I will photograph your labor experience in a way that will show how beautiful and fierce your birth story is while being non-intrusive. These once in a lifetime photos include when you first meet your child face to face, and the first two hours of his life.
