We stayed for two nights with a Travelzoo offer. We have been to this hotel before, so know it well. We checked in at 3. 00pm. We had a room in the South Lodge, the room was absolutely fine, tea/coffee making facilities. We were on the ground floor, with a view of the estuary, which would have been better if we had been in an upper room. Our criticism would be that staying in a lodge, when we had the most awful rain, was that going to the hotel for the evening meal meant we got absolutely soaked and returning later that evening was the same, we did go armed with an umbrella but it was still awful. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice. We had an evening meal in the hotel on the first night. the restaurant was quiet. The starters were very good, my Husband had bream, which he thought was ok, but lacking a lemon slice to accompany. I had chicken breast, I am not a fan of a meal served in a large bowl, on the whole I thought it was very bland. We had a drink in the bar to begin with, surprisingly they didn't have Aperol. The waiter was very attentive, if anything too much so. The hotel is in a good location for visiting Torquay and surrounding resorts. We would stay there again as it is in a good area. More...

We stayed on a one night Wowcher deal on Sunday night and paid an extra £20.00 to upgrade to a twin estuary view room. We were on the 1st floor and the view was absolutely amazing. We took some binoculars and saw all types of birds on the estuary and surrounding area. The room was large, beds were comfy and the bedding was very good quality. The hotel looks as if it has been refurbed in places but for what we paid the rest of the hotel was fine. The Xmas decorations are up which are stunning. Someone has gone to a lot of trouble with the trees and decorations, they're gorgeous. The bar stocks a wide arrange of drinks and the restaurant food is delicious. There is plenty of choice and the staff are knowledgeable of all the dishes. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfast buffet was very plentiful followed by a served cooked breakfast which was beautifully presented. Again, there was a huge selection to choose from for the cooked breakfast. The only thing that spoiled our trip was that we were only there for one night. The hotel is a little gem in a stunning location and we can't wait to return. Please pass our thanks on to all the staff, we had a fab time More...

We spent a long time looking for a venue that suited our requirements, the Passage House fit them all. |We opted for one of their packages available at the time, which was so helpful as it included a lot of suppliers. There was some flexibility with this though. |All suppliers were very accommodating and helpful. Communication was very good with Hannah, via email and phone calls on the lead up to the wedding to finalise everything.|The day: we stayed the night before in the bridal room, which was plenty big enough with a balcony and adjoining room. |The rest of the day was so smooth, Hannah greeted us after we arrived back from the Church, she showed us around the room to make sure we were happy with the look and the layout, which was perfect, like a fairytale. |Food for dinner and evening was perfect, we had soup, chicken and profiteroles, then hog roast in the evening, we had a lot of dietary requirements and children and they were very accommodating to everyone’s needs. |We basically took over the whole floor plan of the Passage House due to our large numbers (about 180), there was plenty room for everyone and even room for the DJ and dance floor as well and area for the photobooths and sweet cart. |If you are looking for a venue for your wedding then I could not recommend this venue enough. Not even for a wedding, even for any event, a nice place to stay or somewhere to eat. More...

Bathroom tiles also dated. That said, rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Slept really well.|Used both the gym and pool. It would be helpful if towels were made available instead of being sent back to the room to ftch one, or a note in the room informing guests of this. Booked with Travel Zoo for 2 nights with 3 course meal, very good value. We were given a room in the North Lodge but found it very basic and dark so upgraded to a room in the main hotel with estuary views. This was a vast improvement and the sunrise was amazing over the estuary. Used the pool but was quite small and not like the photos and so many steps inside to hit your legs on, £1 for towel use, some renovation work going on. The breakfast was very good and nice to see the rabbits running around in the field and all the bird life on the river. Could perhaps renew some of the chipped cups at breakfast but that's the only complaint. For dinner we shared the camembert starter (yummy), the haunch of venison was good followed by the pear tart (nothing special), lovely wines. Ate in the Passage Inn the next day - very good! We had a 2 night deal with Travelzoo which was B & B and a dinner on the first night (worth £31 per person) for £129. We paid a small extra to the hotel direct to upgrade the room to a view over the River Teign estuary which was magic. Need to book an Estuary view room on floors 1 or 2. The dinner was first class and included venison and confit duck. The breakfast was extremely good value and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We could not fault the place for the price we had paid. Two minutes walk away is the Passage Inn which is part of the complex and dinner there on the second night was equally as good but more traditional pub food.
