We stayed at Bessingham for our wedding weekend. Everything was perfect! The owners William and Dawn were so helpful and efficient, allowing us to create the wedding we wanted. The house, as well as being very spacious, also has a wonderfully warm atmosphere, it was very hard to leave on Monday morning! The dining room, decked in white, was the perfect setting for our wedding breakfast and the lounge made both a very elegant backdrop for our formal wedding photos as well as a very comfortable space for our family games in the evening. Stayed here last week and wish we were back this weekend in the sunshine! We were a group of 22 and there was plenty of room inside and out. Really nice furnishings but reassuring that our 9 children aged 5 and under could roam free and have fun. A slightly disappointing shower in the Jack and Jill bathroom but generally an excellent set up and would definitely stay again...only thing we'd change is the weather! More...

We had a brilliant time here recently - The Manor house was perfect for our needs as such a large group with young children. The space was fantastic so we definitely didn’t feel on top of one another. So many areas for people to congregate in the house. We have just returned from a fabulous weekend at this beautiful Country House. The house has beautiful accommodation with a large drawing room, a typical farmhouse kitchen with Aga which has everything you need to cater for all your needs and 4 of the bedrooms have en -suite facilities. The grounds are extensive and whilst having breakfast outdoors we were treated to being accompanied by a pheasant and deer. The addition of a 4 person hot tub adds the extra bit of luxury. The owners left a very nice welcoming pack to include luxury biscuits and a bottle of prosecco. A perfect venue for a family celebration or a reunion with friends. More...

I was lucky enough to have spent the May bank holiday at Bessingham Manor in the glorious Norfolk sunshine. This was our second stay at Bessingham as part of a large group including several children, once again we had an excellent time in the house that we all feel at home in and very sad to leave. The hot tub was a very welcome addition to our stay this year, also for the second year in a row we employed the services of Bayfield catering for our Saturday night meal who I would also highly recommend. The house is well equipped, especially the kitchen with it cosy aga. I would never pass up an opportunity to stay at Bessingham manor and noor should anyone else who reads this. More...

All the family loved it. We had a couple of problems which were sorted out immediately - all one can ask. My grandson asked if we could stay if he gave the contents of his money box! It was very peaceful with lots of room for everyone.

There is a lovely peaceful walk to the local church and lots to do in the area. generally. We can really recommend Bayfield Catering. Emma came in to cook for our Golden Wedding, and also provided a brilliant lasagne and venison casserole. More...

Bessingham Manor is awesome. We took it for our Golden Wedding as it was large enough to hold all our family. Our 4 and 6 year old grandsons had a wonderful time running around the house and garden and there was plenty of room for the adults to find a quiet corner when the general hurly-burly got too much. It is extravagantly well equipped with everything one could need.

We ate out in several places, notably Sunday lunch at Morston Hall and also enjoyed the Anchor pub in Morston. Boat trips to see the seals were enjoyed by all despite the bitter north winds.

We stayed at Bessingham for a family celebration - it is an amazing place. It's absolutely huge, and very well furnished and equipped. Beautiful views across fields. (Also treated to a fly past from a barn owl whilst walking in the garden). Our two small sons and nephew loved charging around and playing hide-and-seek.

It was really interesting seeing the photos of Bessingham before it was restored - the owners deserve massive credit for saving such a lovely and locally imporant building. It was a privilege to stay there, and I hope we'll be back some day!

(We can recommend Bewilderwood and Holkam for fun family days out, and No.10 bistro in Sheringham for a very good meal). More...
