This place was definitely a mixed bag for us tonight. This was the first time I have been here even though we live relatively close by. We had two main issues here. The first is that I wasn't a fan of my meal which was the steak  tacos as it came out cold and cold steak really sucks. The other was the incompetence of the hostess which I will explain later. Now for the positives. The ambiance is really really nice. I like all the candle like lights and the cool ceiling. Our waiter was very attentive. And my wife who had the chicken tacos really liked her meal. Funny enough my daughter who had the chicken fingers and never really likes everything happened to love her meal. When I made the reservation I asked the hostess over the phone how they could accommodate a car seat she said they had one of those swing things. When we get there the hostess on duty says there isn't such a thing. Then she's see me get upset and asks someone else who promptly brings me the swing. Next my wife asked the hostess if there was a changing table in the bathroom and she says no. My wife comes to the table a little annoyed and worried about how we are going to deal with the baby who just pooped and then I said go check to see if there is counter or something in the bathroom. She goes to the bathroom and sure enough there is a changing table. Lastly I asked the waiter if they could do a candle and sing happy birthday and he says no. No big deal I figured this isn't that kind of place and we planned to go somewhere else afterwards for this. When he brought the check though he brought a cake with a candle and we sang happy birthday. Not sure what the issue or disconnect was but the end result was nice and although I would have paid for desert I ended up getting it for free. I have only ever had great experiences at Bestio. I recently hosted a fundraiser here and things could not have gone better. The manager, Rene, worked with my organization very well and we came out of the fundraiser extremely happy with the amount of proceeds we were able to gather. Not only is the food delicious but the atmosphere makes the experience of Besito perfect. I highly recommend ordering the guac. as an appetizer. The three meals I shared in order from favorite to least favorite:1) Enchiladas suizas: salsa verde was perfect and the chicken wasn't too dry2) Arrachera con camarones: steak and shrimp. The shrimp was nice and plump, the plantains were well ripe, and the steak went well with the ranchera salsa. 3) Mixtos: steak, chorizo, and chicken tacos. The deluge of cheese at the bottom of the dish was a bit much but it was a build-your-own taco situation so the cheese could be avoided.Not the most authentic restaurant but really good. The chips and salsa were great as well as the rice and beans. The portions of the whole meal were perfect for dining in--not too much food where you either feel gross after the meal or have to carry leftovers home.The service could have been better. The waiter wasn't very attentive, was hard to find, and the whole wait staff didn't come off as very well trained. Thia a really nice restaurant. I am not a mexican food fan but this place has really good food. The ambience is peaceful as they play Mexican music in the background. Not to loud though. The drinks are good, not to strong, not to weak. The food is fresh and delicious. This is my go to place when I want a good meal, drink and a chill place to meet up with friends. This was a nice little find! It's located close to a free parking garage, which made everything hassle free! The food is delicious but can be on the more expensive side. As a grad student, I'm always looking for affordable place to go with my friends. Besito has a wonderful selection of food & drinks on their happy hour menu. I'll be coming back again soon! More...

We dine here frequently; this was a special birthday meal that unfortunately fell short of the usual excellent experiences we've enjoyed. We were seated in the white room off the main dining room (which was fine); however, it was annoying to have the guacamole station directly behind my seat and in full swing on a Saturday evening. Also, the wait staff has been superb here each time we dine in; on this occasion our wait person bordered a bit on the surly side - not what we've experienced at all during prior meals. His demeanor, combined with the lack of ambient atmosphere, made a momentous day feel a bit flat. Came here on a Saturday night with a friend. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, which both have a lovely aesthetic. We basically came for appetizers and a few drinks. Chips and salsa is complimentary, as it typical for many Mexican restaurants; the guacamole is a bit pricey but they make it table side for you and customize the spiciness! We asked for medium but I think it could've been spicier. Prices are a bit high, but the restaurant is a bit more upscale and classy anyway. Service is excellent. Absolutely amazing service! I came here with my Abuelita and baby. Luckily the baby slept through most of our meal, nonetheless we were asked if we wanted some fruits for the baby to eat. My Abuelita asked for more chips and salsa and our waiter was extremely attentive! His name was Sanders and he definitely made the experience wonderful. The food was good! Quest fundido was the BEST. First time here- Great atmosphere and food. It is semi pricey but the quality meets expectation. The guacamole was addicting! I tried the steak and shrimp and it had great flavor. I usually am a fan of mole sauce, but I asked for a taste of their mole and glad I did. I didn't like it - it was too much of a black licorice flavor in it. Not my thing.
