Using our highly accurate Evixscan™ structured light scanner, we are able to capture, measure and create highly accurate surface and solid models of manufactured components in a wide range of materials.
Quality Control and Inspection
Optical, non-contact measurement of complete objects, with deviation comparison to a reference CAD model or other master object. We can produce a wide range of graphical, tabular and textual reports for our clients.
Using powerful 3D modelling software tools to recreate the geometry of complex objects, we can deliver to our clients: • 3D digital models and documentation where none exists or has been lost. • 3D digital models for design adaptation or modification. • 3D digital models for simulation software e.g. FEA analysis.
Moving from the virtual 3D model to a real prototype, we offer a rapid prototyping service based on the use of 3D printers. Prototype models can be produced in a variety of colours, materials and print resolutions.

Highly accurate Scan to BIM services for existing structures and buildings. Using the latest laser scanning technology we can collect point cloud data and form a precise 3D (Building Information Model) BIM.

3D BIM model of Historic Building
3D modelling of a historic building which we constructed from survey CAD drawings supplied to us by the client. This is the first phase of a longer duration project to provide 3D visualisation of the property in order to enhance the visitor experience. The 3D model will also form the basis of a BIM model (Building Information Modelling) to which attributes can be attached. The client has expressed interest in potentially using this as the basis for asset management of the property.
3D BIM model of Tower Block
A tower block refurbishment project which we recently surveyed (using laser scanning), then extracted the features in order to develop a 3D model of the elevations. This is also a first phase project, the longer term objective being to develop a full BIM model for the owner.
3D modelling and reverse engineering of safety device
Our client manufactures this device in injection-moulded plastic and is contemplating a design change. Unfortunately, although they are producing the product, the original design documentation was not available. Using our industrial scanner, we 3D scanned the 11 components comprising this device, then extracted the underlying geometry in order to bring the product into the digital domain and create a solid CAD model. This process is known as "reverse engineering". Having recovered the geometry, we were then able to provide the client with an appropriate file for their mechanical CAD system, enabling them to adapt and develop the design further from that point.
3D modelling of racing car
Our client is involved in a special class of racing car and required to redesign the front end in order to improve the aerodynamics. Using our Evixscan industrial structured light scanner, we 3D scanned the existing front section of the vehicle and created STL and PLY mesh models for input into CFD (fluid flow) software. We await to see the improvements in performance of the car with interest!
