I have had my horses at Benbrook Stables for over 15 years. more than 90% of the boarders have been here for many years. We are all very happy and in great hands. The horses are loved and so well cared for. The staff cares for everyone's horse like they are their own. Most boarders who have something horrible to say about the Stables, or the staff and owners, are usually bad apples that were asked to leave, for one reason or the other. Just had our little one's birthday party at the Stables. His review was that is was "The Best Birthday Party Ever!" Horseback riding, hay rides, and a pony to pet. Shortly after my experience here, I found out my niece had a newfound love for horses. I told her I knew a GREAT place where she can ride and made a promise to take her here. Welllll, one year later, I called to make an appointment. This would be her first time riding a horse. After speaking with Chelsea, who was very informative and patient, we decided which option would be best for her (and her friend) and set the day and time. We opted for a single session riding lesson. $60 per person for a 45 min lesson. We arrived and came to the office first to register and fill out forms. I met Chelsea who was just as nice in person as she was on the phone. She fitted the girls for helmets and made sure they were the right fit. Then off we went to meet the horses. My niece rode Harry who was a big, gentle horse. Her friend rode Ruby who was younger but very well trained. Tori was their instructor and she was the coolest! It was very evident that she was extremely knowledgeable which put me at ease. She asked for the girls' names and remembered them throughout the session. She knew the horses very well including their habits and what not to do to upset them. Tori is very protective of their horses. She noticed another rider improperly handling the horse she was on and immediately went over there to guide her. After showing the girls a few instructions, we headed to the arena which was a little fenced in area off to the back side of the ranch. I wasn't able to go into the arena, but they have bleachers on the outer perimeter that were definitely in bad shape. I was able to find a place to sit and watch and of course take pics. Tori covered the basic fundamentals of riding, safety, and caring for the horses. The girls had a super fun time and can't wait to come back. They kept talking about the horses for the restof the day which made me so happy. Tori was an excellent instructor and made the experience wonderful. Tori and the Benbrook crew were excellent, communicating with us in Australia about the rides and facilities, and then delivered on the day. Daughter Wedding. Easy to do business with. Our daughters wedding was on a day with rain in the forecast. Benbrook Stables helped us develop a Plan A & B, rain or shine. I have been taking my two grand babies ages 7 & 5 to the Benbrook Stables for the past three weeks. They have learned an enormous amount in a short period of time. They look forward to their lessons each week & they will be attending the camp this summer. My granddaughter was trotting her horse yesterday for the first time & she now calls herself a real cowgirl. My grandson is the younger of the two, & he has learned patients and perseverence when working with the horses. I don't know where to begin this review! My husband and I are so thankful that we had our wedding at Benbrook Stables! Their packages include so much for such amazing prices! Our wedding coordinator was Tori, and we are so incredibly thankful for her! From the moment we e-mailed asking for information, to our send-off on the wedding day, she was by our side. She was so sweet and always willing to answer calls, texts, or e-mails at anytime of day or night. She even answered our questions on her days off (which we did not expect of her)! On the day of, it was incredibly windy and cold (which was not expected for an April wedding in Texas), and Tori was so reassuring and calming. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful! The ceremony area is surrounded by rose bushes and greenery and the reception area is huge and covered in beautiful lights! You are able to customize your wedding to your liking. Even though it's on a ranch, you can make it very modern and chic vs rustic, if that's not your style. We recommend Benbrook Stables 100% and we are so happy that we had our amazing wedding there! I leased a horse out here and I loved it but I had to stop the lease due to how far my house is away from there, but I always love to come visit this place because I have friends out there and it's a fun place to be. I miss it so much!

I am terrified of horses. I was bucked off at 4.....over 30 years ago. I'm determined to get over my fear. When I called to book my lesson, I told him this. I said I might not get on, but I'm happy to have the experience. When I showed up for my lesson, I met with Tori. She didn't hesitate. I told her my background, she made me come over to the steps, and I climbed on. I was in a group of small children and I wasn't going to cry in front of them. I told the kids it was my first time and they told me I'd love it. So now I'm on a horse. Trying not to cry in front of children. Tori (not sure of spelling) was amazing. She made it very clear that the horse would go where I told her to. I'm the adult. Tori helped me learn to actually ride and turn and how to use my brakes. My daughter has been mentioning wanting to do equestrian lessons. So I signed her up and she went for one day during spring break (because its far from where we live) and she was so excited! I honestly don't even know where to begin.  My husband and I finally were able to get away for a date and chose to go riding at Benbrook Stables. It was only $50pp for an hour trail ride with a guide, which I think is an amazing price!  Our tour guide was Erik and he made the ride beyond relaxing and fun (which is what we were looking for).  While taking us through the creek, trees and land he made for great company!  My husband and I were looking for an hour to be able to unwind and Benbrook Stables definitely allowed us to get that.  We will definitely be back and also recommend Eric and the stables to all of our horse loving friends! On a recent visit to Fort Worth, we took our 7-year old to Benbrook for a riding lesson. While our daughter is too young for riding trails, she (and we) had a fantastic experience. Although our daughter has limited experience with horses, within an hour she progressed from being led to the arena by the instructor (Eric), to riding solo. She was successfully riding around barrels and cones, stopping on command, trotting with good form, and truly controlling and communicating with her mount, a very well trained quarter horse. I must confess that I'm not much of a rider, but I learned a lot just from watching my daughter and listening to Eric. Now that we are back in Portland (OR), we have revised our summer plans and are looking for someone like Eric to work with our daughter (and with me, so I have a chance at keeping up with her...)Thanks and appreciation to Benbrook and its employees, especially Eric. Beautiful place

I have kept my horses at Benbrook Stables for over 9 years. In that time I have worked at the stables, and experienced it as a paying boarder. I would have to say that the review written by Daisy is the rant of a person who knows nothing about horses, but thinks she is an expert. We have watched her ride her little filly for months now, all the while cringing because the horse is far too little to be ridden. I have a horse who is the same age as her filly, and I would not dream of riding him yet, due to his size and age. Riding a horse as young and small as hers is like sending an 8 year old child to the weight room to lift heavy weights. Their bones aren't completely formed and growth plates are not closed. Daisy is correct that futurity horses are started young, but this is why few of them have long careers. Many are retired to pasture by the time they are 12-15. If she was interested in showing her horse in a futurity, she should have taken her horse to a qualified trainer, instead of training her herself. There are a ton in the area. Everyone at the stables has watched Daisy put her horse in many dangerous or detrimental situations due to her lack of knowledge and common sense when it comes to horses. When she brought the horse in, she wanted to feed supplements and very little grain. She based this decision on her experience as a nurse and the advice of a pharmacist friend. You would never eat 300 calories a day and take tons of vitamins instead. This is just as bad for a horse as it would be for a human. Molly was able to convince her to feed the appropriate amount of grain her horse. For her to say that the horses are starving is honestly, comical. She was asking the stables to starve her horse, and they refused to do so. The horses are only allowed on the hay once a day, because it is for a 6-8 hour stretch. That is more than enough time to get all the hay that they need. When they are not on the hay, they have free range of a giant pasture filled with GRASS. I would challenge anyone to find a starving horse at Benbrook Stables. It is sad that someone feels the need to slander a great facility and fantastic people. Daisy did nothing but cause problems to the point that other boarders wanted nothing to do with her. The stables is an amazing place to board your horse, or come spend the day. I would not dream of boarding anywhere else. More...

We loved our evening at Benbrook Stables.Our daughter was recently married at the stables and we could not have been more pleased. The twinkling lights in the trees and the ranch setting was exactly what she was looking for. The outdoor fireplace and the camp fire going in the fire pit were perfect for the November evening and added so much to the setting. The staff, management and owners were a joy to work with and made the entire process a pleasure. They were on hand the day of and jumped in to help with anything we needed. They went above and beyond when it came to hospitality. The bridal suite was warm and cozy with a fire going in the fireplace and candles all around the room. I have boarded with Benbrook Stables for over two years and could not be happier. The level of care for the horses is outstanding. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and always available with a helping hand. The facilities are BEAUTIFUL. My daughter attended the Spring Break Equestrian Camp at Benbrook Stables and she enjoyed it very much! We initially signed up for one day but we ended up breaking down and doing 3 days, she just couldn't get enough of it! She wants to do it again, so we will be up there again during the summer. Only thing I can say that isn't positive is that parking is a hassle and there only seemed to be one camp counselor that was in a good mood, and bless her heart she was pregnant and able to smile! I can't relate, I was a cranky prego, but she seemed to be the only one to communicate and have a loving attitude... The first day my daughter went, I had purchased a picture to be taken on a horse for her and the lady that was handing them out just looked at me like I was annoying her by wanting it... My wife and I went here for a trail ride, now I'm a city boy born and raised, but the very knowledgeable and obviously incurably dedicated staff here made us feel comfortable from the initial call until the time we left. We had a nice ride with a very learned instructor/trail leader who told us many things about the horses the stables and more. My wife's horse has a brief moment of unsurity but it was quickly corrected by our trail leader and we moved on without a care. If I had known how much fun it was to be, I would've certainly made arrangement for a longer ride. I genuinely hope to return one day for another ride. More...

I absolutely loved Benbrook's trainers and horses! One thing I would want work on is to teach a bit more horsemanship during lessons. Other than that, great facilities!

Very nice facility. We did the hour ride and I wish we picked a longer time. I absolutely loved my horse Ruby and wanted to take her home with me. She was very tame and well mannered. Also, the trail was a little trashed -- from my understanding they share it with USACE and I don't think it's the stable's responsibility for upkeep but I think if someone could clean it up it'd make the ride more enjoyable. My family and I decided to go horseback riding and my uncle recommended we go to to Benbrook Stables. Prior to going, we called and made a reservation to ensure we had a spot. The rides fill up fast so I suggest calling ahead to reserve. When we arrived, we filled out a release of liability form and my cousins who are under the age of 16 were advised to wear helmets. This place is kid friendly and we were told they hold day camps for kids as well. People older than 16 didn't need one. The cost per person was $30 per person for an hour ride.Our tour guide's name was Tori. She was very helpful and taught us the basics of horse riding prior to taking us out on the trail. She also made sure we all stayed together. If one person got left behind, or was having trouble with their horse, she would help them out. (My cousin's horse kept trying to eat the whole time which was pretty hilarious! Tori helped her out with that lol.)  She also was able to take pictures off our phones of all of us which was super nice of her! The ride itself is about an hour. We went during summer so much of the river was dried up but nonetheless it was a good time and still beautiful. I highly suggest hydrating beforehand and wear some clothes and shoes you don't really care for because you will get dusty. The horses are very sweet and well-trained.Overall, our experience at Benbrook Stables was fun and relaxing. I would definitely go back again! More...

THIS IS SOLELY A REVIEW OF THE CHILDREN'S SUMMER CAMP:My 10-year old daughter just finished up a week long summer camp at the Benbrook Stables and it was excellent.  The staff was well organized and great with the kids, the horses (particularly Georgia :-) were a delight, and the crafts / hide and seek in the barn / water fights all made for a great day, each and every day of the camp.Thanks again and we'll be back next summer!   p.s. tell Georgia that Madison already misses her! My husband and I recently went on a trail ride at Benbrook Stables and had a wonderful time. We went on a Saturday, so there were about 8 other people on the ride with us. The stables sent out 2 guides with us to make sure that we were all stayed together, and help us out as needed. The horses were fantastic, and seemed to be well cared for. The property was beautiful and well kept. The trail guides were extremely helpful. There was one little girl on the ride, that was having trouble keeping her horse from eating grass, so one of the guides stayed with her, and even led her when she got scared. I live in Benbrook and bought my first horse a month ago and was looking for a place to board him. I always liked Benbrook stables because when I was younger my family would do trail rides around the lake and had lots of fun. It also backs right up to Benbrook lake and miles and miles of horse trails so I wouldn't have to trailer my horse very much, I could just ride him out the back and be right there. However, when reading some of these reviews I have to admit I was a little worried. But there are always 2 sides to every story so I decided to go talk to Molly the owner and some of the workers and other people who board their horse there to see what they were like. Hands down they are the nicest most down to Earth people you will find. I decided to board my horse there with full care and have had no problems whatsoever. I had even ordered my own saddle from a tack store and it was going to take several weeks to arrive so several people loaned me their saddles (including Molly) and they barely even knew me. Plus, last weekend my husband and I took our horse to swim with him in the lake and I may or may not have pushed the husband off the horse into the water where he hit a rock and got a nasty cut on his hand. Ooops. Anyways on the way back to the stable we got stopped by a park ranger unhappy that we were on his road and we told him what happened. Unknown to us he called Molly and told her what happened. A few mins later she comes driving down the road to find us and offered to drive us back and have her friend ride Partner back to the stables for us. When we got back everyone was helping us doctor up my poor husband...they were great. When we were being driven back I got up the nerve to ask Molly about some of the negative reviews on here and let me tell you...there is DEFINITELY another side to the story so if you are at all concerned I urge you to just go talk to them and find out for yourself. I can assure you the horses are taken care of and I couldn't be happier! All of this to say, don't let some negative reviews scare you away...do some research yourself and make your decision based on facts and not on some crazy posts by a disgruntled employee and a lady who is a few fries short of a Happy Meal..... Benbrook Stables was very professional and a organized establishment! I showed up for a trail ride and was greeted by a smiling face at the desk. I then was given a helmet for my 10 year old daughter and we were directed outside. We were loaded on the horses who were ready to go. We had a great trail! Best place I have ever kept my horse. Benrbook Stables has so much that other barns just don't have. They take care of my older horse like he is one of their own. He has so many issues and they make sure he get the care he needs everyday. The barn is great, no gossipy bad apples, just super fun and friendly faces. All of the other boarders are outgoing and fun to go out on the trails with. Always someone around to ride with you or you can go out on the trails alone for a relaxing day. I read on some sites about some skinny horses and was a little leary at first. However those are their rescue horses. They rescue a few every year, get them completely healthy and then donate them to kids who can't afford to buy their own horse. The place is incredible. My daughter and I have been there for over a year now and we could not be happier. I would recommend Benbrook to anyone looking for a new home for their horses. More...

Benbrook Stables ia  a nice facility. I took a close friend and her three cousins out here the day after Thanksgiving for a girl day. We were very amused going past the Parks Mall and seeing all the traffic that we were going as far away from as possible.Horses were tame and well mannered. The ride wasn't exciting but good for beginners. You wind along the pastures, cross a creek, go down another trail towards the lake, then swing around and come back. Ride was an hour for 30 bucks, cash only.I give them only four stars because our very young trail guide left a young 13 year old lass with a stubborn grumpy horse alone in the back of our group. They should have had someone else back there to tell her what to do. Essentially, since I've ridden a bit, I wound up working and helping others with simple ways to control their horses.  I had wanted to enjoy my ride, not work for free. They should have had someone else from the staff bringing up the rear. I suspect it was a larger than average ride due to the holiday but still. Not cool.  They should have broken up the group into a smaller number from 20 horses down to ten. More...
