Miami Spice is here and the prefixed lunch menu at Bellmont did not disappoint. We arrived promptly at 12 and the restaurant was empty. Yes! I ordered the pork croquettes, meat paella and the flan. Everything was delicious, with just enough seasoning so it was not over bearing. I washed off my meal with a red sangria that totally hit the spot. The service was very amicable and prompt. As someone who frequently travels to Spain, I can confirm Bellmont has some of the best traditional Spanish food I've ever had. Experienced this very nice restaurant for the first time when I visited the Christian Chamber of Commerce. They served a fish plate with shrimp that was quite good. My only complaint was that by the time we got the food it was cold. But still very delicious. I heard that they actually have Spanish flamenco dancers on certain nights. Bellmont is a Spanish restaurant in miracle mile. And their food is the closest food from Spain you can taste: no tricks no inventions, just real food. It is family owned. The owner, Sergio is really knowledgeable about wine and jamón .They have a nice selection of this one, nothing easy in Miami.Experts in suckling pig... I think they are the only one in the city. New Years Eve was a great experience, good drinks and good food, however a little chaotic to start and some of the dishes could have been better in this prefix 6 course meal. The hams and cheese plate was delicious. Followed by a smoked salmon tartare which was more of an avocado tartare than a salmon tartare, the ratio of salmon to avocado was not right. Then an incredibly grilled to perfection piece of octopus tentacle that was served incorrectly over a bed of croutons. Main entree I chose was their signature oven roasted cochinillo, however the piece I got had nearly any meat and was not to flavorful. Desserts rocked the evening, an orange filled with turrón ice cream and a cup of arroz con leche, both delicious. Overall a great experience minus a few food glitches.
