Beware shrinkage! The Boca Framboise Torte is now half the height it used to be! It used to be a couple of inches high, as in the photo posted to this page, but now is half that at the same price as before.

The food will wow you! Belle Epicurean is a little expensive, and the service isn't always great, but the excellent food and ambience makes everything worth it. Despite its famous pastries, I actually love this place for lunch. The made-from-scratch mushroom soup and the salami and olive baguette are just scrumptious. They warm all the pastries up for you if you ask, and the chocolate chip cookies are divine. Such a pleasant place to sit for lunch with high-quality food. More...

This little bakery is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!Can stress enough about how much I liked this place! First of all, they have reserved parking in the back of their store for customers, you don't have to waste time looking for a parking on Madison street. Totally give them a big plus for that!Second factor, marble marble marble! My first impression about this bakery was alot of marble in their interior and furniture. Which gives it a classy and elegant look overall.Third factor, the goodies they offered in their showcases looking tasty and the size was pretty big! There are a variety of different kinds of buns and croissants to choose from. I got the chocolate croissant and a raspberry brioche bun, both of them were really good in taste and texture. I noticed they have a wine room as well, might spend some time try out this cute place again while I'm in the area! More...

They have the best Chai in town. All other Chai tea lattes taste the same (the same syrup from a single manufacturer I guess). In contrast, their house Chai is home made and extremely rich in Indian spices including cloves, cardamoms, nutmeg...etc. You can also buy the Chai mix in bulk. They also serve a great coffee from a superb roster (Forte). Their baked goods are good but way overpriced (A tiny mini croissant is 2.95). Overall, this is one place I would always like to visit and hangout because it is not very crowded has a nice ambience. This is my son's favorite place since he was 9 months old More...

With a wide variety of pastries, baguette sandwiches, teas, espresso drinks and even wine there is certainly something here for you. The only reason I give this wonderful spot 4 stars and not 5 is that it closes earlier than I'd like so I've found myself having to leave when I'm just getting into my studies or wanting to sip that evening coffee a little longer. Also, the prices are quite high. But it must be said that the quality is high as well. An open, light filled space greets you too! More...

Macaron!!!! That is all! They have award winning macarons in Seattle!! They do. This isn't a new spot. But this is my regular spot. They have a stunning set up! It's casual but marbles everywhere. All white and all marbles mixed with dark casual woods. It's my kinda spot. You come here for food!! Or drinks! Or their coffee. The cakes are so decadent. On rainy days ( now that we have so many), all you need is a latte and their one of many cakes to warm you up from the rain!! Cafe side is great. But their wine bar : eve better! It's covered in French wine and a ton of rose!! Really, what's not to love! They even have a small parking spot but this is Madison park! It's busy!! Its easier to just Uber. More time to savor the macarons! More...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Belle Epicurean on Madison. Excellent food, drinks, and service. Beautiful space in a great neighborhood. It's great to grab a quick cup of coffee on the go but also a fantastic meeting spot for coffee, brunch, or dinner. While all of their pastries are delightful and beautiful, the macaroons are my favorite. They are honestly my favorite macarons in the city (especially the captain crunch flavor), and they also make great gifts. I also highly recommend the mushroom soup (sells out quickly so get there early for lunch if you can) and the chicken salad sandwich (made using the bakery's croissants which are delicious and amazing in every single way). We came here for a late lunch, after finding that it was so closely located to the arboretum.  We needed food, so was happy this was just across from the park, but didn't expect to find such a charming French cafe and brasserie.  First of all, they allow dogs inside, which is an automatic one-star addition - duh.  And for us, humans, the moment you step inside you are greeted by a friendly employee who's happy to answer any questions or make recommendations.  Since we came for a late lunch the employee informed us that the pastries still there were half off (except the apricot croissant, which they use to make another dessert the following day).  Most of the pastries left were mini brioche buns, so we ordered the apple and the vanilla rose ones to eat later. For lunch I ordered the Warm Pepper Turkey Sandwich with a side of a Warm Lentil Salad.  We also had a bottle of rose to share, after realizing that a bottle was only 15 bucks versus the eight dollar per glass.  We chose a seat on the patio, which is in the back of the building.  The server delivers your food to you, and I liked that since we were having wine there - she made sure to bring a bucket of ice for the wine, to keep it chilled.  Also, there is a small parking lot in the back in case you don't find street parking nearby.I didn't expect the Warm Pepper Turkey to be served on the bread that it was served on, but am so glad it was.  It was circular and you could easily tear it apart, as if the shape was rolled, making a spiral as its surface.  I figured the sandwich would be on toast or any other kind of bread you would expect, but this spiral-like bread its served on was delicious.  I especially loved how soft it was yet crispy on the edges.  The turkey was very good, and enjoyed the melted cheese with the herb mornay sauce to accompany it, making it very creamy and tasty.  The Warm Lentil Salad made for a good side as there were pieces of smoked bacon in it, adding lots of flavor and liked that it was served on a bed of spring mix.  With the Warm Pepper Turkey Sandwich having so much of a butter base, it was nice to have a side that added some lightness and balance to the meal.  Not only was the staff helpful and decor and setting reflective of a Parisian cafe, but the food was addicting!  Good luck trying to figure out which pastries, cakes and macarons to order, as everything looked stunning.  This is a great stop with a French flair, and encourage anyone to visit, especially if you're in the area. The best almond croissants I've ever had! They nice and flaky on the outside, with a little bit of crisp if you get it heated, and the inside is what's the winner. There a bit of a almond sort of butter/cream that is the perfect amount of sweet and makes the inside moist. So good, my boyfriend and I go here every weekend as it is up the street from our house.Their coffee is amazing too. A quick Yelp search popped up this result and it was about a mile away - we were able to find it easily and get a table. At around 1:30 it was pretty empty. The have a selection of French desserts, sandwiches, soup and salads. I do think we ordered wrong by just going with the salads - they were a-ok but not stellar.  The sandwiches and pastries seem to be where it's at so go with that - maybe a salad on the side and I do suggest the beets. The coffee was delicious, the decor adorable and it opens to the wine bar next door. Parking would be tough on peak hours - but we found spaces around he back without a problem so maybe try there.
