What a wonderful coffee shop.  We liked it so much we went for breakfast and lunch on the same day.  The establishment itself has a "U" shaped layout with swivel stool seating.  There are coat hooks which are convenient during the winter months to hang coats, scarfs, beanies and other things. The wait staff was welcoming and professional in explaining the menu, offering water, coffee.  The food was very good diner food.  For breakfast we tasted their corned beef hash and eggs, and buttermilk pancakes.  I loved that their corned beef hash was made with fresh hash brown potatoes, fresh diced corned beef, round onions bell peppers.  All cooked to an excellent flat top crisp.  It tasted like it was simply seasoned with salt and black pepper, letting the natural flavors shine through.  This is a must order dish.  The buttermilk pancake was light, soft, fluffy, flavorful without syrup, just delicious melt in your mouth goodness. While eating breakfast I noticed a sign promoting their Rueben Sandwich.  Oh!  We need to come back for that!  The sandwich came with a mound of tender pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese sandwich between house made rye bread.  Everything was toasted beautifully.  The star though may have been the double cheeseburger.  Two juicy homemade beef patties, perfectly melted cheese in between home made hamburger buns, seasoned with an awesome special sauce.  We also had an order of French fries (meh).  The one thing which I don't care for, and is not the restaurants fault is how the chlorine in the water system affects the taste of sodas, coffee, and to some degree certain foods.  With that said, anyone visiting Portland must stop by Fullers for a good home cooked breakfast and lunch. I have heard about Fuller's blueberry abundant pancakes and decided I needed to check them out.Upon looking at the menu, I was astonished by their prices for being downtown. For reference check out their seafood lunch specials hovering around the $10.00 range.I had their Special breakfast and added an egg and made the pancake a blueberry one. It ended up coming with 2 eggs, bacon and a blueberry pancake for $6.75. The pancake was as good if not better then I had heard. I was comfortably full. Next visit it's all about those pancakes. See you soon Fuller's. CheersDuane P. More...

This place was very good and popular, we got there around 11 and we had to wait around 20 mins for a table. After we finally got a seat, we could see more people were showing up and they had to wait awhile. The service was fast and friendly. I got the country fried steak and asked for no eggs and it came with a side of toast. They replaced the eggs with a large amount of hash browns. My boyfriend got the classic omelette and he said it was delicious. We shared a butter pancake and wow that was a lot of food. Very worth it, recommended! More...

I was shocked to find that there is still an affordable place for breakfast in the Pear District, that is also putting out delicious home cooked food. Fuller's is a Portland gem and I'm slightly ashamed it has taken me this long to visit, considering it was been around for ages. Located in the heart of the Pearl, it is a reminder of what Portland used to be. But lets move on to the important part, the FOOD!I had the waffle and ordered a side of bacon. OMG one of the best waffles I've had in Portland. It was hot, malty, and crispy. The bacon was also fire; thick and smoked. My boyfriend ordered the blueberry pancake and could not stop talking about how good it was! His scrambled egg was also good perfectly. And our syrup came hot. I love it when places do that. Fuller's makes all their mixes and breads in house and it shows. The staff was so friendly too! Super engaging and on top of it. I also loved this place because it was small, warm, and inviting. Please put Fuller's on your radar and make a stop the next time you're in the Pearl District. More...

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place with a good ole' classic egg breakfast, pancakes, coffee, etc......and as luck would have it, this very casual, down to earth little old school diner happened to be just a block from our hotel! We had expected this type of a place to be absolutely packed on this late Sunday morning, but nope, it was busy, but still plenty of seats.....no tables, just a curvy countertop with bar stools to sit on......the nice and friendly hostess greeted us at the door and told us to sit anywhere we'd like. We figured it was the July 4th weekend and everyone was still away on their holidays.....better for us!Anyway, service was very nice, friendly, and helpful from start to finish......where we decided on an egg white veggie omelette...which comes with hashbrowns and choice of toast, a regular pancake, a German pancake, coffee, and hot tea. We tried to sub the toast for pancakes, but it was a no go.....so we ordered the regular pancake as a side. After having seen other customers order the blueberry pancakes, we tried to change our order, but it was too late....the food came out just as we spoke....oh well.Definitely a good place for a very solid and yummy egg and pancake breakfast. The German pancake was surprisingly thick....almost like pancake thickness and just rolled up, but still good nonetheless. I'd expected it to be like a Dutch baby pancake. My girlfriend was very impressed by the regular pancake though....she said it was the thickest and most fluffy pancake she had ever seen and eaten! ......we enjoyed our breakfast very much.......and at such reasonable prices (for downtown dining) too! Simply the BESTEST cute spot in Portland (you too Jess). My fav is the rib-eye breakfast. When it's jammin' don't freak out if there are open seats, there may be people on the 'wait list' ahead of you (imagine that). It doesn't help if you march in and seat yourself (see Roger) and you disrupt the seating because it's all about you. There is 'order' to keeping the calm.Notice: Vic is now a Beaver Believer! Additionally the prices are superb; I ordered two dishes and a coffee and ended up paying less than $11 in total. There was roughly a 15min wait, but I came in a large group and it was Sunday morning so a little wait wasn't bad at all. We went to Fuller's on a random choice on a Saturday morning, the worst time to go to a popular place in Portland. We walked up expecting the normal long wait. Also looking at the small space I was thinking it was for sure going to be a really long wait. The hostess said 10-12 mins and really we only waited about 3 mins. We were seated at the cute diner seat at the end, getting to look at the diner kitchen and all the delicious looking food coming out. One server got us coffee right away, while another took our order about 10 mins later. Food came out shortly after and was just as tasty as it looked.
