I asked Jerry to DJ a roller skate Birthday party in Mission Beach and he delivered way beyond any expectations. Jerry knows how to move the mind, the spirit, and the body with his special mix magic. He is a sound scientist of the highest degree (as well as an amazing skater I might add!). His DJ set was a seamless blend of bliss. All the guests and I were floored, as were the passers by. Jerry was absolutley fantastic! We were reffered to Jerry by our neighbor. We couldn't of asked for a better DJ. He was fast with responding to emails, texts and calls. We had changed a few things very last minute and he was very respectful with taking the changes! We are so lucky we had such a wonderful DJ. He gave us song reccomendations, and genres. I just recently had the pleasure of having Jerry DJ my wedding. Initially I was nervous as he had the daunting task of MC/DJing a super multicultural wedding. I am Persian and my husband to be is Russian. We not only wanted Persian and Russian music but also Hebrew, Spanish, Turkish, Pop and R&B. He was so pleasant to work with, literally would get back to me within the hour if I ever reached out to him, was open to all of my ideas and did an amazing job at our wedding. He DJ'ed the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and really nailed it. He felt what the crowd was feeling and played the music to reflect it. We had started conversation with another DJ before meeting Jerry, but when Jerry and I got on the phone I quickly realized he was the right choice for our wedding day. And should definitely be yours. The passion he has for what he does, for bringing joy to people through Music, and for Music itself – was contagious. The enthusiasm he brought to our conversations just made me excited! You literally hear it in his voice. He discussed in depth how to read a crowd of different generations, so that no one feels left out. Initially my-now-husband and I were nervous about asking Jerry for certain requests, specifically customizing our recessional and first dance song and then adding a song during one of the speeches, but he was thrilled and ready to take on the challenge and got back to me with the customized songs within the hour of me sharing the ideas. He was readily available to chat on the phone and followed up with me months before to make sure we were comfortable with his website and plugging in our song requests. At our actual wedding, he helped us with great suggestions of pre-ceremony music and in the reception, he set up the room beautifully with up-lighting that matched our theme. He was sharply dressed, smooth, professional, and soft-spoken – and was able to keep the reception flowing perfectly between speeches, special dances, cake cutting, and regular dancing. He was able to accommodate all of the unique song requests we had and he was sure to follow our specific requests (as in the order of songs or when to play certain songs) as best he could with our intentions in mind. If we could give Jerry 6 stars we would!!! He was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the minute my fiancé reached out to him through "The Knot",  the experience was "seamless" just as he described it would be. Jerry kept the party alive all night at our wedding. Jerry of Becks Entertainment is a complete professions and wizard of his craft. We have been using Becks Entertainment for the last 10 years for every special event that we have for dining at the University of San Diego. Jerry reads the crowd perfectly and plays the mixes that get the college kids up and dancing. He comes prepared for our themes and always has some little tidbit to throw to the crowd. If you are looking for a DJ that listens to what you want, takes the time to explain his process and reads your group during the event to keep the dancing going, you have found your guy! My husband and I had such a wonderful experience going through the planning process with Jerry from start to finish. Jerry came recommended by a friend and we were so lucky to see him in action shortly after at one of Brick's Open Houses. My husband and I instantly felt a connection with him and even though we didn't muster the courage to talk to him that night, we both knew he was our DJ . He's incredibly talented and a master at his craft. Just like he'd masterfully done at the open house, he read our crowd and had everyone on the dance floor or feeling themselves where they stood. jerry beck did a great job at my wedding. not only did he and his photobooth helper handle the day perfectly, they led the entertainment with enthusiasm.

jerry also worked with me to cue in the original song i wrote for the first dance with my wife and me lip-synching a performance in the beginning, and it went off without a hitch.

Jerry DJ'd my B-Day/Retirement party and I'm so glad I found him. Jerry doesn't just play songs; he respectfully considers the event and reads the crowd, providing a seamless transition of the music to fit the mood of the moment. This review is well past due but Jerry did a fantastic job at out elementary school dance (Monster Mash)! I have been running this PTA event for years and by far he made brought it it to a whole new level. He came prepared with kid appropriate music and lead the kids in several dance routines. Everyone should have Jerry DJ their event!!! First I must talk about how much of an awesome and professional man he is. My fiancé and I planned a huge destination wedding weekend event where about 50 family and friends flew to San Diego. The wedding was on Sunday and I learned on Saturday morning at 5:30am that my DJ cancelled on me due to his unprofessionalism. I found Jerry's profile on The Knot and took a chance to see if he was available.  I sent him in an email at 6:00am and by 6:15 he responded. Our wedding venue was a unique one. We got married on the Adventuress Luxury Catamaran for a unique experience. Like with all of vendors we used for the wedding, he had not performed on a yacht and was not sure how to make this work. But because of the high integrity Jerry has he was determined to make this work. So now the music!!! OMG amazing does not even describe it!  Jerry had that boat ROCKIN!  I told Jerry I wanted the atmosphere to be a party on the boat which just happened to have a wedding kick it off and he gave us just that!  The guests ranged from 70-40 year olds and from Philly, New Orleans, Houston, and California. He was able to find the perfect mix of music for all and we did not stop dancing all night!!!  Even my husband danced and he NEVER dances. I booked Jerry in May of this year to DJ a conference networking event at the Birch Aquarium. I interviewed several other DJ companies and ultimately went with Jerry because of his great customer service and pricing. Jerry did not disappoint! Jerry Beck made our wedding reception a blast! On our wedding day, I was extremely worried our guests wouldn’t be on the dance floor. I searched around for the best DJ’s to make sure our reception was a great time, and we found it with Jerry. He knows how to get people on the dance floor! Our floor was never empty and at times, there wasn’t enough space to dance. We even had wedding crashers from the wedding next door because they saw how much fun our guests were having. I owe a lot of that to Jerry. He observes what type of music people like and chooses songs based on that. He truly knows how to read people. I recommend him to any couple looking for an amazing DJ! Beck created an amazing dance party at my wedding that went all evening and left the guest not ready to leave (my husband even wanted to pay him to stay till 1am, but I was ready to call it a night). He felt out the crowd well and made quick changes to song choices as he observed what got people dancing. He also took request from guest which they really enjoyed. DJ Becks was easy to work with. From our first meeting, hecamei. With a vision, enthusiasm and professionalism. With my husband living in  Kenya via Nigeria, he did a wonderful job incorporating obscure African music to the playlist. If anything we held him back without knowing what songs we wanted at certain times in the ceremony and reception. He picked the perfect recessional songs for our ceremony that had our guest and bridal party fancying in the aisle. Our only disappointment was that we had to leave our venue because there was another event after ours. Otherwise the party could have gone on another few hours. Jerry was an amazing DJ, wedding music "consultant" and coordinator. I was so appreciative of his attention to detail, his professionalism and extreme willingness to make our wedding an experience to remember.
