We booked this hotel without reading reviews! Only did i read the reviews after we made the booking. After reading the reviews i will be honest i did try to cancel the hotel, but found out from the provider i booked with that i would not be able to get a refund, So we bit the bullett and gave the hotel a try. Well all i can say is.... I don't know what all the fuss is about, our night at the hotel was fine. We where made to feel so welcome, a lovely young lady on reception was very polite and told us everything we needed to know regarding our stay, All the staff and people in the hotel where so friendly, they went out of their way to speak to us! This made all the difference for us. Our room was fine, yes it's not the ritz but we where not expecting that for the money we paid, The hotel could do with a little tlc, but i wouldn't say it's anything major, we slept so well! The breakfast the next morning could not be faulted, it was everything we expected and more. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. If you are put off by all the negative reviews, I would say give the hotel a chance and make your own decision, you get what you pay for, we have stayed in much more expensive places and not been treated as well as we where treated here. My stay was fabulous me and 6 friends came to liverpool for my birthday, due to our original hotel cancelling on us we ended up here. The staff was really accommodating as i was stressing out that my day was ruined. Thanks to all the lovely staff they managed to turn my day around. They went above and beyond for me. After reading all the reviews i was a little nervous about staying here. Well let me just say come and see for yourself for the price you pay to stay here i do not see how anyone can moan. it was as cheap as chips and cost half the amount of my original hotel. The staff from checking to checking out was more than pleasant, lively and out going. I have promised me and my girls will be back for Christmas shopping and a Carvery as it was delish!!! After reading some of the reviews I had to check it was the same hotel we stayed in. Originally booked in to The Adelphi and having paid in advance for the rooms( I could not stay there the rooms were a disgrace) we had no where to stay and it was 5. 30pm My husband has bone cancer and was tired I was panicking trying every site to find an available hotel with 2 rooms when this hotel popped up. Love this hotel of faded grandeur love the warm friendly staff more especially Kim & Pacco who seem to hold everything together despite things going wrong sometimes always with a smile. Sehr gemütliches alt englisches Hotel zum fairen Preis. Frühstück durchaus ok! Lage des Hotels ist schon etwas vom Zentrum entfernt. Personal würde ich teilweise als chaotisch organisiert bezeichnen, was aber auch seinen Charme hatte und Grund zum schmunzeln war.Einzig negativ würde ich die Betten erwähnen, die eher den Charakter einer Hängematte hatten.
