I choose to work with Be Smart because they work hard to understand and fit in with the way a business works.

When I took my current role leading comms at an international manufacturing group I wanted to modernise the dated brand style and supporting communications material in a way that was fresh and modern, but sympathetic to the logo and history of the company. After discussing the project with Philippa and the team, they took an in-depth look at material in use across the international group and created a style that better represented business’s vision, values and position as a leading engineering firm manufacturing high precision components. Having agreed the approach, they then worked closely with the business to roll out various publications in the new style, from internal documents to marketing brochures and presentations.

I trust them to work independently with other parts of the group, not only because they created the guidelines but also because I know that they will be proactive in ensuring that everything they produce fits with our agreed vision, as much as if they were an extension of my own team.

The help I have received is second to none and they go above and beyond what you would expect.

There's no point having a great website without having a great brand identity and it's important to get this right first as this will flow through and greatly influence your new website.

A great website should be able to attract, retain and sell to the viewers, converting them to enquiries, and then to customers. Overall it should have a great design, compelling content and great quality traffic.

Great design will create an amazing first impression.
It should also have a custom layout not templates.
The colour scheme should be in line with your branding
Ideally have good quality imagery that's bespoke to you rather than stock imagery but if budget is an issue go for well chosen stock imagery,
Engaging infographics to bring to life dull and dry information.

Fast loading site
Responsive
User experience is key
Compelling content – create a clear and simple Unique Selling Point with original content that's well written and on brand.
Quality traffic - should have SEO

Some of the questions we ask will depend on the project involved but as a broad guide here we go:
• What is the challenge or objective of the project?
• Why do you want the project you want?
• Who is your ideal client?
• Who are your competitors?
• If you're an existing business do you have any customer research?
• Are there any existing brand guidelines?
• Does the project need to align to any other marketing collateral?
• Why should anyone buy from you, in other words why are you unique?
• What's your budget?
• What's your deadline?

We always have a meeting or a Skype call to dig deep to understand what you are trying to achieve. This is the most important part of the process to get the best result. We'll also determine a time schedule that outlines who does what and when. This ensures that you get your project completed on time.
RESEARCH: We look at the marketplace you're operating in (or will operate in), we look at your competitors, your positioning statement, your pricing. It's important we really get to know what marketplace you are in and after 25 years we've covered most of them, whether it's Retail, Business to Business, Public Sector, Charities, Education, Business to Consumer or FMCG.
DESIGN: When we're happy with the research, as a team we'll discuss the project and start to come up with potential creative solutions. When we're happy with them, we'll present the initial concepts to you and our reasons why.
DEVELOPMENT: This stage is working on the feedback you give us from the initial concepts and when you are happy with your chosen design we'll move on to artwork.
ARTWORK or BUILD: Depending on the project, when you have approved the design concept, we will then move on to artwork of the print project or the build of the website. Ideally to keep your costs to a minimum, you should approve all copy before giving to us because if we artwork it and you then make a lot of change these would need to be charged for. The reason for this is when we first quote the project we can't guess what changes you will make in the future. When you are happy with the project you will sign it off and we will then proof read it internally.
PROOF READING (QUALITY ASSURANCE): It's important to us that all of our clients are exceptionally happy with their project and so to make sure it all goes smoothly we will proof read the project internally and if there are any queries, we will raise these with you before going to print or making the website live.

We would need the full trading address of the corporate entity that will be invoiced, plus a PO number for a pro forma invoice.

All projects, once live, on invoiced on a pro forma basis with payment being made before we start.

In the case of a website project, we would be happy to accept 50% with order and 50% 30 days later.
