We had the Barge to ourselves from 4pm for about 2 and a bit hours!

I had my 60th birthday party on the barge on Sunday and we had a great afternoon. We hired the upper deck but, as it was quiet, we effectively had the run of the whole boat with just a few other people coming on board for drinks. The weather was gorgeous so we made full use of the outside deck space. The staff were friendly and efficient and very laid back about all the children who were having fun running around the boat. The barge is not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties but we had visited so were aware of this before we booked. I would like to have seen our booking listed on the events calendar on the barge's website as only events which hire the whole boat seem to be mentioned. Overall though, I'd recommend it as a great venue, with lovely views of the river. More...

We just had our wedding there on Saturday and it was amazing! We wanted a more relaxed and fun wedding, and it was delivered perfectly. We hired the whole boat, and it was pretty much the perfect size for the 90+ guests we had at night. The food was also really good and the staff were really flexible and helpful on the day. Would definitely recommend it if you hire the entire venue. Thanks to Emma, and Kyle who was manager on the day - you were both great. X More...

Gotta say this place is peculiar. when the ride is in far enough, it rocks unpleasantly. would be great on a warm evening, in a cold night one huddles inside. still liked it. funky.

Great place for lots of private functions. It has a reasonable selection of drinks and friendly, accommodating staff. Unfortunately there are no cocktails available and the food while good isn’t always as available as one would hope

Is a nice cosy place. But it got a bit "bumpy" when the water level rised. So if u have sea/ motion sickness then is better to reconsider this place.
