Unfortunately I was there 4 a celebration of life lost a dear friend. However it's the food was wonderful the catering excellence the place is clean definitely was recommended for a woman .

My husband and I were married August 26, 2018 - We are from California, we live in Texas. We were high school sweethearts (40 years ago) and we were reunited just over a year ago. We decided we wanted to share our day with our family and friends in Southern California. A friend had gone to a function at Hurst Ranch in West Covina CA. She told us about it and we looked at the website. It looked exactly like what we wanted. All of our planning had to be done from Texas, which meant no face to face meetings. Everything had to be done over the phone. I called the venue and found out that Bashful Butler handles all of the catering and set up at the venue. I called Bashful Butler on a Saturday and left a message. I got a call back from Theresa in less than an hour. From the beginning Teresa was professional and friendly. She answered every question like it was my first question. Teresa sent us everything we needed to make our decisions. She also gave us recommendations for vendors like the florist and for the drapes/uplighting. Teresa was so great to work with. She was one of the key components that made our day perfect. Where do I even begin.. Teresa from the Bashful Butler was phenomenal to work with!! Beyond pleased with how well my wedding turned out. Teresa made herself available to me via phone,text and email day or night whenever I had a question she was always available to provide answers for me in a timely manner. What more could a Bride ask for, she made my whole experience go smoothly. The food was delicious!!! The cake was to die for .. the entire staff that helped serve at my wedding reception that took place at the covina woman's club was very professional. Annie I hope you get to see this (she was in-charge of the bashful team the day of). Annie did an outstanding job! Everyone left completely happy and hasn't stopped talking about how great my wedding was and how outstanding everyone from the Bashful staff was. Annie catered to my every need with no hesitation made sure everything was going well all night long. I highly recommend the Bashful Butler Teresa and Annie make a great team!! Great venue for vintage/rustic wedding..  everyone loved the place and our wedding was a hit.. thank u to Annie coordinator the day of our wedding. . she went 150% on making our day there run smooth..  definitely recommend this venue and this catering company.  Only thing the communication with the person who did our contract was very limited and took while for responses to questions we had.. My wedding was at Hurst Ranch, with Bashful Butler as my caterer, in August 2017. I only had the reception there and it was outside, my friends and family are still talking about it and how in love they were with the whole thing! I wanted the rustic/romantic feel and it was everything and more! The staff with Bashful Butler was amazing, starting from the bartenders-to the supervisor Annie, she paid attention to every detail. I had about 230 people and every person was taken care of as far as food, drinks, and a great seat at any table they sat. The whole experience was great from the start, very organized when I met with Donna at the first meeting, we planned every detail and had a time slot for every part of the wedding. After that, came the run through right before the big day and menu selection. Lastly, the big day. Again, my big day was amazing-my family, husband and myself could not be happier with the selection of this place for our wedding. It was everything we wanted and more! It is such a beautiful venue. It was too bad all the lighting inside wasn't working at the time of our event, but it was going to be replaced. It was worth the amount we paid. Linens, security, servers, catering, the location, the bar, set up and clean up, all for one price. Amazing. More...

Thank you for your great service...No issue everything ran smoothly. A beautiful and most relaxed experience one could imagine! If you are your own wedding planner and looking for an affordable wedding, elegant but not over the top, and delicious food, Bashful Butler handles almost everything. Ryan was our coordinator and without going into every little detail, Ryan delivered on every promise made, and his staff that evening, Annie, Flor, Lisa, & Daniel far exceeded our expectations!My wife and I planned and managed our entire wedding, and I am very meticulous (some may call it OCD) about every moment of our day.  I had a spreadsheet that each minute from that morning until the final guest had left were accounted for. Ryan and his staff stuck to 'the schedule', always staying on task and when we were going over the allotted time, they gently moved us on to the next event tastefully and without issue.We not only had our reception at the Azusa Woman's Club, but we were married there as well. They set up the hall to accommodate a wedding and a reception all in one, and they have a beautiful courtyard that is just outside the hall if you want to have any part of your wedding or reception outside. The wedding was perfect, the transition to the reception was seamless, and the food was delicious! We were able to taste test the food variations they offer, all were very good, and we did not have one complaint, only compliments! The cake was also baked and decorated just as we requested and tasted well beyond our expectations. Bashful Butler is the way to go if you are looking for an affordable hall, dinner, and cake for your wedding.  Don't let their lower prices scare you into thinking you will receive service less than you expect, Bashful Butler goes beyond expectation and you will not regret your decision! I would like to thank @bashfulbutler for a memorable wedding day. Everything came out perfect and the staff was very organized and friendly. Couldn't get enough compliments on @hurst.ranch . The security guards were very friendly with the children and made sure non of them left the property without a parent...many parents compliment me on that fact due to the kids wanting to play outside. I would also like to thank Ryan, who was the person I dealt with all throughout the planning of my wedding. He made everything so easy for me. He was great in answering all my questions and was very helpful with the whole wedding process. My husband and I would definitely hire them again if we had another special occasion. The Hurst Ranch is a charming property with great potential. It is owned by the city of West Covina (I believe) and managed by catering company, The Bashful Butler. Which means, you can only use them for catering and will be your point of contact throughout the entire process. Venue offers a lot of unique options for photos, set-up and entertaining. This review is meant to cover both The Hurst Ranch & The Bashful Butler.

Parking: A bit tricky considering there is limited spaces but not a deal breaker. Plenty of street parking.

Property: Unique, well-kept and clean

Security: Two officers onsite and were very professional, polite and attentive.

Food: Food tasting was 'ok' and day of food was much better, we were very pleased.

Bartender/ Servers: No complaints at all. Staff was very polite, dressed well and overall very pleasant.

Lights: indoor string lights are pretty and unique. Be sure all lights are working. During our party all were working but we made sure ahead of time.

Ryan: Ryan works for the Bashful Butler and was our contact throughout the planning process. My only recommendation for working with Ryan (and any vendor) is to communicate via email and keep track of all correspondence. During our final meeting, Ryan became 'forgetful' about things previously discussed. He’s busy, we get it, but do keep record of everything and you will be fine. Other than that, Ryan was awesome and very accommodating. He answered emails on a timely manner.

Harrison: Harrison also works for the Bashful Butler and was our day of onsite contact. He was very helpful, accommodating and lovely to work with.

Other: We rented several items to make indoor space feel warm and romantic. We hired a day of coordinator which resulted in the best decision ever. Venue is affordable!

To recap, were very pleased with our wedding! We would recommend this venue and Bashful Butler. Stay organized and get all your questions answered early on. More...

We loved working with Ryan!  Super down to earth. Was very nice and didn't try to oversell us. We got married at the Azusa Woman's Club which is conveniently located across the street from the Bashful Butler offices. The staff was very friendly and accommodating both for the rehearsal and also the big day itself. I recently had the pleasure of having the bashful butler cater our wedding yesterday! It was seriously the best day ever! Ryan, the coordinator, was fantastic ! He answered emails and texts in a timely manner and always came through on accommodating my needs. My guests loved the food, everything ran on schedule and staff was great! I couldn't wait to leave a review to express my gratitude! I highly recommend the hurst ranch location, it's such a beautiful venue with a picturesque setting. Just know if you're looking for a rustic, natural setting, outdoor reception, this is your place. Although they do gave a barn for indoor reception. Ryan was our guy from the beginning and we were able to communicate with him through emails. They're flexible about using other vendors and bringing your own decorations. You do have to contract their caterer Bashful Butler (great food) and their bartender. Wedding day was awesome, my guests loved the outdoors, and I used the venue for my wedding pictures. More...

Hurst Ranch is a great little hidden spot in West Covina, CA. Completely unexpected in this hot suburb is a this cute venue that lends a rustic vibe. The look of this place is great and versatile enough for you to decorate it in any way. For my wedding, I was going for a cross between rustic and the classic fairytale wedding. Combined with the decorations, the barn and crops in this venue, I got exactly what I was looking for. The value is also great for the price as it is a city-owned venue. The rental price is by far the cheapest I came across in my extensive research over venues.

A con though is that it is exclusive catering, only through Bashful Butler. Bashful Butler was easy to work with, but not the best quality in terms of food. However, I have to give a shoutout to Ryan from Bashful who was awesome to work with and made the overall process so easy for us. Although, since Bashful is not the owner of Hurst itself, we ran into some trouble over what was and wasn't allowed by the city as opposed to what Bashful would allow. In addition, the West Covina City Government screwed us over when we booked our date saying that they had an event they wanted to throw on the same date. Since they ultimately own the venue, they forced us to move our wedding date even though we had already signed a contract and put in a deposit. We just had our wedding at West Covina Women's Club and had Bashful Butler catering. From the start it was A list treatment! Ryan was whole help right from the beginning to plan the perfect wedding. Should each hall and save the best for last. The Women club was a perfect fit for our wedding. A week before the wedding we went over our menu. Ryan was so helpful.  I felt so confident on ever choose I made and he give me great feed back. Answered every question (which were many) The day before the big day I was meet by Lisa to go over last touches and do our reursal. She is the best so helpful. Made things so easy for me. I felt like I was dealing withb a family member. She cared how I felt and if I was comfortable with how things were turning out. The big came and Lisa was there every step of the way. I felt like a queen. My gust we all well taken care of. I had no stress thanks to the great friendly staff who meet our every need. The food was amazing. Family and friends are still raving. We had the buffet with chicken and roast beff with steamed veggies, baked red patatos, pasta salad. The chicken was so creamy and juicy cooked to perfection. Roast beef was tender with mouth watering flavor top with gravy. Everything was delicious. Our cake was made exactly as we wanted picture perfect. I could not have asked for more perfect day. We booked our wedding at Hurst Ranch and Bashful Butler was our catering company. We booked through Ryan who was absolutely accommodating and patient throughout the whole process. We went with the BBQ tri-tip and BBQ chicken menu. We wanted sides from Woodranch BBQ as this is my husband's favorite and Ryan said it would be okay to have those items delivered. I've never heard of a catering company allowing you to bring in food that wasn't on their menu! Our family couldn't stop talking about the food especially their biscuits with honey butter and my husband loved their baked beans. Everything was delicious and everyone kept commenting that they couldn't wait to eat because they could smell the meat that was being BBQ'd on the premises. Every step of the way Ryan was there to guide us and always responded  within hours if I had a question. He was also very helpful with the layout of the venue and made suggestions as to what would work or not. Ryan even let us use some wood barn doors that were on the premises of Hurst Ranch for our ceremony. I can't say enough good things about Bashful Butler. I can not even begin to stress how amazing this company is!!! Last minute this wonderful company helped me and my now husband out. .. They put a wedding reception together in 1 week, and Ryan was just so helpful, they stayed calm and helped us put out dream wedding together on such sort notice. We had the reception at the Azusa women's  club and it was so beautiful ! The food which is catered by bashful butler was delicious, all my guests enjoyed it ( we choose the Mexican  fajita/enchilada  plate).  I just loved everything and am so glad we  went with this company and that venue !
