This food truck is out in front of Trademark Brewing most Fridays - I discovered it when they were at Trademark's official grand opening a couple months ago, but I'd already just gotten food, so at that time, I just tried their creamed corn, which was $3, pretty large, and totally delicious. Anyway, I was back at Trademark last Friday and so were they, so I finally had a chance to try the main event - the meat. I'm a huge fan of burnt ends, and theirs were some of the best I've had - super juicy, flavorful, perfectly smoked pork burnt ends, and with no wait. Great pairing with beer, too! Officially they only sell full orders for $12, but they were awesome enough to sell me a half order for $6 - and it was still a pretty decent size (3 fairly large pieces - not enough for a meal, but excellent for a snack.) I also tried their mac & cheese, which wasn't bad, but definitely not as good as the creamed corn - it was a little bland. I'd give them 4 1/2 stars for that if I could (and for the effectively 10% cash discount, which is kinda lame), but the burnt ends were just too good to go all the way down to 4 stars. More...

Wow. Holy bananas. This place is EPIC. My friend called me literally the day before he planned to host a party, and I found Bartz. While Bartz was otherwise employed at another catering gig, they were SO cool to make our order and let us pick it up. To say the food was good doesn't even begin to say it. The wagyu pastrami, Chile verde, Mac and cheese, creamed corn (out of this WORLD...seriously, its sweet like corn and cream, savory like thyme...do NOT sleep on this dish. Do they smoke the cream? I don't know...), pork belly, prime pastrami beef rib, chicken...We had about 10-12 people and everyone was absolutely and ahhing over the food. Phenomenal. Texas style, but they also gave us some Carolina style mustard sauce. Honestly the way I judge barbecue is by how the meat tastes without the sauce, the smoke ring, etc. . This stuff is absolutely epic. See the picture if you don't believe me. I could not recommend them more highly! And the quality to price ratio was phenomenal. Do not hesitate to order or eat from them in the future! :-)Also, they were just so cool. The price was BERY fair, and I'd swear they gave an extra beef rib and corn. Fabulous fabulous fabulous on every level. Especially the food! More...

Amazing! Had the wagyu pastrami beef rib, pastrami brisket, pulled pork and pork belly burnt ends. All were delicious. Didn't try the sides because my friend is doing Keto but he threw in some extra meat.

Bartz catered our 4th of July party and killed it! Showed up at house in the morning with prime brisket, pulled pork, pork belly and sides. Dustin smoked the meats for around 8 hours on-site. Plenty of food and leftovers for 80+ guests. Stand out items were the brisket, the glazed crispy pork belly and the smokey creamed corn. Finding great BBQ in this area isn't easy. This outfit will exceed your expectations f'sure More...

Bartz has probably thee best BBQ in the South Bay hands down.  The brisket is pretty mouth watering and the sides, like the Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans are done right.  You'll have to follow them on social media to see where they're going to be located, but they're usually at a brewery for the most part and always at LA Ale Works on a Sunday.  The only thing I'd warn others is about, is if they're at a special event, be prepared to wait since it's usually just Dustin (the owner) and a helper to serve the masses.  I've had to wait about 45 minutes before, but it's well worth it. Bartz--- thank you for having Texas bbq in California!!!! OMG!!!After years and years and YEARS of searching for good bbq, Bartz is hands down delicious.  Being from Texas, it has been one disappointing place after another. I am so happy I found Bartz.Wagyu brisket is amazing, along with the brisket/jalapeno/cheddar sausage.  Mac & cheese is legit. The jalapeno popper mac salad was even better. Jalapeno creamed corn was also good and had a nice a little kick.Their bbq sauce was perfect and had a little kick. Would have loved peach cobbler, but he said no one ever orders it. Guy behind us said he dreams about the pork belly burnt ends, but we didn't get those. Next time, for sure. More...

This is a 4.5 Star ReviewGreat flavors going on with their bbq.  I had the Wagyu Brisket and a Southwest Brisket Sausage....both super tasty.  Brisket had amazing flavors...the bark is KILLER!  My only complaint is I wish it were a bit more tender.  But maybe I should try the Wagyu Pastrami Brisket next time?  The Brisket Sausage had a great texture and the flavors really came through....just a little bit of spice.  The casing was a little chewy but it didn't effect the flavor of the meat whatsoever.  What a great brisket delivery system!Good sauce - I think we had the sweet?  It was sweet with a little bite to it.We had the 4.Cheese Smoked Mac n Cheese and the Roasted Creamed Corn.  Both were fantastic.  The smoke on the mac added A LOT of flavor.  I don't know what the 4 Cheeses were but the mac was super creamy.  Maybe a little too much breadcrumbs on top of ours....but I'm being picky with that detail. The Creamed Corn was one of the best things on our tray.  Super creamy and sweet.  Almost a faint taste of butterscotch or something...f*kking great!Got a Salted Choco Chip Cookie too....real damn tasty! Bartz BBQ creates some fantastic smokey goodness. The brisket has some great bark and a solid smoke ring.  I couldn't splurge for the wagyu but the prime still tasted great.  But with my decision, I could budget for the pork belly burnt ends and BY GAWD the caramelization that those cubes had was irresistible.  Definitely on the pricier side of catering/food truck services.  But taste is what matters and there's lives up to the value. Trying to find legit bbq in Los Angeles is like trying to find a needle in an absurdly large haystack littered with Kombucha bottle but these guys MAKE.IT.HAPPEN!!! I discovered them about a year ago at La Ale works and have been a hardcore fan ever since. In that time they've made some great upgrades in their service and their meat quality. Yes the premium meats come at a premium price but I promise you it is worth every penny and the portions are more than enough to share. I especially love the pork belly burnt ends and Wagyu brisket. The Prime Beef rib is also amazing. Bartz also does sides awesomely well. Most bbq spots are a miss or just okay with sides, but their bbw beans with bits of smoked meat are phenomenal as well as the creamed corn and mac n cheese. I usually get double of these when I share meats with my friends because I refuse to share sides that good. Pro TIp: GET THERE EARLY. I hate to tell the secret but I'd be a terrible Yelp friend if I didn't. Even with the prices you will see people with loaded platters, yes platterS with an S, and the favorites go quickly. Take at least 2 friends and order a few things so you can try it all, you wont regret it. More...

I've worked at a BBQ restaurant for a long time and this is hands down the best BBQ I've ever had! The meat is so tender and moist. You don't even need BBQ sauce. The sides are also amazing, especially the cream corn. If you ever see them around you have to check it out! More...

Let's just get right to it! Brisket: Was a little dry and the smokiness wasn't      coming through as much as I'd expect. Chicken Sausage: It just had an off taste about it. The sausage didn't "snap" when you bit the outside of it. Maybe I just prefer pork sausage since it's a little more fatty which creates the juiciness and flavor. Ribs: Delicious! Can have a whole platter of those! Sides: I loved the sides. The beans weren't too sweet and were well balanced. The Mac & Cheese are tasty as well. Great flavor and pretty creamy! I was bummed they didn't have slaw the day we came but the other two sides were plenty! We came a little later in the evening so that may the reason for the brisket not being as juicy but I would definitely come again to give it another shot. Bartz barbecue is a pop up that we had the privilege of trying at El Segundo Brewery. What can I say... Every once in a while you just stumble ass backwards onto a food experience that blows you away! This is just that place!I tried the pork belly burnt ends and just can't stop thinking about them. It was a transcending experience! The crazy thing is that someone said, " the pork belly is great but you should try the brisket" WHAT? How is it possible to get any better than that? Bart's seems to have harnessed the age old technique of BBQ and PERFECTED IT!They've mastered this smoky art form and I'm so happy to have discovered them. I suggest you seek them out if possible so they can blow your mind as well. Enjoy! More...

Thank you, Dustin Bartz, for bringing your BBQ to the South Bay. You pop-up at area breweries and coordinate underground BBQ fests. You have some incredible meats, and we thank you.For $48, you and a few of your nearest and dearest (ideally 4-6 all together) can share a 4 meat combo with your choice of 4 sides.  We had:Brisket: this is some of the most tender and perfectly seasoned Texas style brisket that I have had outside of Texas. It has a perfect fat cap and a gorgeous crust.  A must order.Beef rib: another delicious choice that is not done by many. A rib is more than half a pound and is generously seasoned with a huge hunk of gorgeous, tender beef rib.Pastrami: the one that I made not order again. I loved the taste, and I loved it warm with the quick pickled cucumbers, but it was insanely salty. Over the top salty.  BBQ is salty, but this one goes a bit far.Pork Belly Burnt Ends: alone worth the trips to the ends of the county to eat. Tender cubes of pork belly are smoked and tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. The closest thing I have had is pig candy in Mobile, Alabama, and it doesn't hold a candle to this. Rich, smokey, delicious, wonderful meat.Mac and Cheese: personally not a fan, but taste is subjective and everyone else loved it. It is the classic overcooked pasta with oodles of American cheese and a fair amount of salt. I would skip it.Creamed Corn: totally simple - cream and corn - but well prepared.  Sweet and wonderful.Smoked BBQ Beans: because they are smoked, they are not overly sweet.  The mixture of beans gives a blend of textures and flavors that are harmonized with bacon and that sweet and smokey sauce. There is BBQ sauce available, if you must, but you don't need it with classic Texas 'Q.  I only used a bit mid Beef Rib because it was 2" high and it added a lot of flavor halfway between the spice crust and the bone.  Otherwise, who needs sauce when there is so much flavor?Good guys dishing good meat.  What more could you ask for? After several visits I must say this is hands down the best smoked BBQ in Los Angeles. I have tried all the meats on the menu and you can't go wrong with anything. My two factories are the beef rib and the brisket. Both are so tender and juicy. Keep up the good work guys! This is the best damm BBQ in Southern California if not the best west of Texas. The meat is cooked perfectly, the seasoning is spot on and the sides are incredible. Now this is good BBQ. They were actually set up at Los Angeles Ale works brewery on a Sunday. The beer was great and you can see that review on Los Angeles Ale works brewings yelp page. We are here to talk BBQ. We ordered the 3 meat plate and went with the pulled pork, Brisket and the huge beef rib. This came with two sides but we went with three. We had the mac n cheese, BBQ baked beans and the cream corn. Amazing! Pulled pork - The pulled pork was very tender, smokey and about 1/2 a pound. Had great flavor and you just couldn't get enough of it. Along side with some BBQ sauce. Awesome! Brisket - The brisket was great. Very juicy and very tender. You could taste the smoke and see the smoke ring in the meat. The knife would cut through it like butter it was so tender. Dipped it in a little BBQ sauce or no sauce at all. It was finger licking good. I want to say this was also 1/2 a pound of meat. Beef Rib - This beef rib was huge. This had to be 1/2 a pound of meat. This had a nice bark on it and you can definitely taste the smoke on this rib. I have had other ribs from other places that were tough and dry but not this one. This one was juicy and tender and all meat. You can also see the smoke line on the rib. I'm glad we picked it.The sides were so good that we went back for  some more of the mac n cheese and cream of corn. Mac N Cheese - cheesy and smokey with a nice crust on it. Man I could not get enough so I went back for more. Very silky and creamy. You can't go wrong with this one. Cream Corn - Another great choice. Creamy, smokey and I would have to say buttery. As I said earlier I had to go back and get some more because it just had a richness to it that was very flavorful. BBQ Beans - BBQ beans were good but I preferred the other two sides over the beans. Great BBQ with good sides can't go wrong with that. If you ever see Bartz around your area stop by and grab some food. You will not be disappointed. Stay Hungry my friends! More...

My bf raved about this place a few times when he was in LA and usually brought me some leftovers but this weekend we were up in LA and I got to try some right out of the smoker. We got the 4 meat plate and chose the brisket, pork sausage, pork belly burnt ends and pork ribs. We also got 1 beef rib along with baked beans and smoked mac and cheese.Mmmm... everything was pretty darn delicious. The meats were flavorful and super tender. The bf is pretty picky with his mac and cheese, but this one gets a two thumbs up all around. They also have homemade pickles an pickled onions. This is what bbq is about. Easily the best bbq in Los Angeles outside of those talented backyard BBQ pit masters. Tried them on July 9th at Boomtown Brewing.Ordered the brisket, pulled pork and pork belly burnt ends with a side of creamed corn. Where do I start. The bark was perfect. Rich white oak flavor. Perfect amount of rub. The brisket was moist and tender but did not fall apart when you pulled on it, in other words it was perfect. The pulled pork had such a rich pork flavor but just the right amount of smokeyness in the back. And the pork belly burnt ends were basically bbq meat candy. I'm usually the kind of person that believes the  good smoked meat does not need sauce but wow their sauce had this amazing vinigar and chyenne pepper taste I had to dip my meat in it.The creamed corn was divine. found Bartz while looking for a BBQ catering company for my upcoming wedding. I wanted something delicious that will wow my guests. Having tried a few other highly rated local bbq caterers' food, I was unimpressed and on the verge of changing my direction in the food department. I ran across some reviews for Bartz and saw that they would be serving their food at Boomtown Brewery on father's day. So I grabbed the fiance and headed up there to try them out. I have to say that there was not one thing that I ate that did not make me say wow. The brisket was perfect, fall of the bone ribs, juicy flavorful saugages and those burnt ends...  dynamite! The thing that really sold it for me tho was the sides. I've been to many a bbq place and had decent bbq with so so sides. Not Bartz. The mac n cheese is gooey cheesy gpodness and cooked perfectly, sweet smokey baked beans and my personal favorite (which I thought would be my least favorite) was the creamed corn. Get the corn! so rich and flavorful, you even get a smokey finish on it almost as if it was grilled corn.  Clean professional set up, generous portions (I had leftovers for lunch the next day). Beyond the pork ribs, beef ribs (one of my favs), and the pulled pork, the sides are amazing as well. The smoked BBQ beans are my favorite, and I just can't ever seem to get enough of them. I have had a TON of "the best BBQ", but Bartz BBQ is hands down the best in SoCal. More...

Best damn brisket! Our entire family kept eating seconds, thirds and snacking all night. As a lifelong Texan just visiting Cali for the holidays I was beyond impressed with Bartz's. I KNOW good BBQ and this place has the most tender, juicy and just plain tasty brisket I've had. The sides are equally awesome - seriously everything we tried was excellent. I will be back the next time I'm in town! More...

Had this BBQ at the Strand Brewery and it was the best BBQ I've ever had. I ordered the 1/2 pound brisket, mac & cheese, and the smoked beans. Portion sizes were generous and the highlight was the tender brisket. I've had BBQ from all over America and I can say with the utmost confidence that the chef here really knows how to cook meat. Highly recommended. More...

There is a new king of BBQ in town and that is Bartz BBQ. I was at El Segundo Brewery a few weeks ago and saw these guys selling BBQ in the back and was hungry and thought I would try it. I did not expect it to be the good. But man was I ever wrong. hey had probably the best brisket I have ever had and the sides were awesome also. I will be coming back for sure. More...

Tried the brisket and it was very tender. Good flavor with or without the sauce. Check out Bart. On Saturday, they are at Absolution brewing company in Torrance. BBQ and beer make a great combo.

Just had the most delicious BBQ from Bartz! They were the evening's fare at The Strand Brewery tonight so I thought I'd give then a try. I had the brisket plate with 2 sides. The meat was so amazingly tender and dripping with smoky flavor. The plate came with your choice of 2 sides and I tried the Mac n cheese and BBQ beans. OMG!!! So good!!! I also tried the cole slaw and corn bread. The cole slaw was pretty basic nothing too exciting but the corn bread came with some orange honey butter!!! AMAZING!!! I loved every last bite of food and will definitely make it a point to stop by next time they are at The Strand, my neighborhood brewery! Also, the guys behind the counter were super cool and nice as can be!!! More...

Pulled pork is moist, tender, and succulent with gentle smokey notes and has b perfect barbecue sauce to enhance the flavors. Four cheese mac & cheese is excellent with subtle hint of smokiness. Barbecued beans, with just the right amount of bacon perfectly compliments their food. A lot of bang for your buck! More...

I had Bartz BBQ at El Segundo Brewing Co.  I had the pork, brisket, and Mac & Cheese.  All were excellent.  I'm hoping they add Beef Short Ribs in the future, because I bet they'd crush that.  Service was great. I especially enjoyed meeting the chef (I think his name is Dustin) & talking smokers and Austin, TX BBQ with him.  I'll be following these guys & popping up more places that they do.  You just can't get good BBQ like this in LA, especially on the West Side.  I'm a fan! -From catering event at Strand Brewery-  I ordered the brisket, 4-cheese mac 'n cheese, and cornbread.  Initially I thought, 'really, a plastic knife and fork?', I didn't need the knife...  The brisket was so tender I could have just used my fingers.  And with or without their excellent bbq sauce, the flavor was spot on.  Mac n cheese also very good, but hard to compare after the brisket.  Corn bread was good, but a bit on the dry side.  (want my recipe? :) )I will be watching their Facebook posts for a future event I can bring my girlfriend to. I got the brisket and mac and cheese on a whim; They were at El Segundo and I didn't want to die so I thought I'd grub up. I was mind blown. I haven't had brisket this good since my time in Ft. Worth. If you want real BBQ and flavorful mac n cheese with character, look no further. I am definitely getting more as I write this review. More...

Full Disclosure: I've known Bartz since high school.Five stars because:- Authentic, delicious Texas-style (I visited him in Austin so I can confirm he was under the tutelage of Texan natives :)- Owner is a great guy, really goes out of his to make sure his customers are happy.- Lots of food for the price- Somehow he manages to make it from scratch (you can taste how home-cooked it is)- Since I try to do Paleo, my favorites are his beef brisket+bacon beans, but I often cheat by getting the mac-n-cheese also.  When I'm in LA, I try to pick up $60+ worth of his beef brisket to take back to Vegas with me.  Whenever I'm beefed out, I'll also get his chicken and pulled pork. Delicious BBQ. My wife and I both got the brisket with sides of creamed corn and mac-n-cheese. Brisket was picture perfect and tasted as good as it looked (and smelled). They came out to the Strand Brewery. I ordered the brisket with two side: cream corn and cornbreadThe brisket was delicious and the BBQ sauce that came with it was one of the best BBQ sauces I've had. The cream corn was really creamy but good. The corn bread was good too, wish I could have tried the Mac and cheese, but they ran out. I really hope they are regulars at the strand. I definitely loves the food and they were super nice. More...

I had the pleasure of getting some Bartz BBQ while I was at a local brewery. I ordered some beef ribs with a side of beans and a huge piece of corn bread that was topped with a delicious citrus butter concoction. The serving sizes were more than generous! Tried these guys at Sholb Brewery in Torrance. Best BBQ I've had in LA County. That's saying a lot, since I'm from Chicago, the home of Moo and Oink. My favorite is the beef ribs . . . Bartz BBQ is everything you look for in quality Texas inspired Smoked meat and sides. My favorite meats were the pulled pork, and the beef ribs, and the Mac and cheese is to die for. Take my advice and add a piece of cornbread to your order, the homemade butter is super bomb. Thank God someone is making real Bbq in So Cal, most of the other stuff out there, is simply weesh compared to Bartz. More...

They did a pop up tonight at Absolution in Torrance. BBQ is my first love. Sadly in California, BBQ is a pale comparison to the joints I can have regularly in Houston. This BBQ can hold its own! First authentic Texas BBQ I've had in California. They even had Beef short rib! Nobody serves those! Filled my plate with a GIANT beef rib, creamed corn and mac n cheese. Heck even the sides were good. Lots of places (even in Texas) will have pretty good meat but insult you with lack luster sides. Hope they open a restaurant or a food truck. More...
