Have been vacationing at Shawano Lake my whole life but had not been to Classics until this month. As a vegetarian, I don’t eat out as much as I’d like to. I loved the hummus & pita appetizer and found the spinach salad with raspberry & poppy seeds to be fresh & delicious. Although the bar was crowded, we didn’t wait long for a dining table for four on a Friday night. I am so happy to discover this gem on the North Shore. Need to add that the service was outstanding! We went out last Friday night. Because of the holiday weekend most places were busy and Classics was packed. Despite the huge crowd,the hostess went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of while we waited! ! This place is everything you want from a Wisconsin supper club! We went at happy hour (4-6) and enjoyed the $2 old fashions, of which they had a great variety. We were going to eat in the bar, but glad we didn't- there is a fancy dining room in back with white linen tablecloths - you'd never expect that from the bar! We both got fish & chips, but I substituted fries for my chips. The potato chips were homemade, as well as the fries ( both great) and the fish was the best fish fry we've had yet ( and we've had a lot of fish fries). It was more than we could eat, but they offer an even bigger version with soup & salad! We really enjoyed it and we will definitely be going back! More...
