Barley to Rise catered a lunch for us @ PhyMed Healthcare Group. The menu consisted of Salmon, which was prepared perfectly (no small feat for 25 people), sautéed spinach & mushrooms, root vegetables and rice pilaf. People couldn't get enough and asked if Barley to Rise and Chef Gairdt Edwards could cater all of our events!! Wonderful food, great presentation, very professional and timely (very important!!). Oh, can't believe I almost forgot the CHEESECAKE BROWNIES!!! In a word...DELISH!! More...

Barley to Rise catered our son's wedding at Madison Creek Farms. Gairdt and Lacey met with us at the farm before the wedding day planning, organizing, and sharing ideas; this meeting was relaxed, supportive, creative and informative. Every concern and question we had was answered completely. On the day of the wedding, a day-long steady rain set it, and we all had to get flexible. Gairdt, Lacey and their staff took the lead, moving tables, changing serving schedules, rearranging things, etc to make it work in spite of the rain.

The food was perfect. The bride and groom wanted traditional southern foods: Nashville hot chicken, ribs, and fixin's, with a vegetarian entree available, too. Each dish was perfectly seasoned and prepared. (Best collard greens I ever had.) While rain poured down, under the tent and pavilion we had delicious food, perfect food service, and lots of love and celebration in the air. It was magical.

I must say again that Gairdt's reassuring support and repeated statements of, "I'll take care of that for you," were priceless in relieving our nervous pre-wedding jitters and making this family wedding a magical event we will always remember. It wasn't just about the amazing food, it was also about emotional support, and being able to relax and enjoy, knowing food, service and clean-up were being handled seamlessly. Clean-up was also thorough and efficient (even with the rain and mud.)

And the cheesecake was to die for! More...
