Our company would like to help you form a healthier, better relationship between you and your dog. I will come to your home to help you train your dog. This is where problems occur, and the best place for your dog to learn. He is least stressed when he is at home.
People tell me all the time someone - a veterinarian, friend, co-worker - told them their dog must be euthanized due to its behaviors. This is not true. Any dog can be helped with any behavior problem. I have successfully trained over 2,000 dogs since I started training with Bark Busters in 2005. I have trained dogs as young as 8 weeks, and as old as 13 - possibly even older! Dogs learn differently as they age, but they can still learn! Whether it is a puppy lesson or an older dog who has developed aggression or separation anxiety, we can help.
Years of experience in Corporate America gave me the tools I needed to be able to read people and identify problems. Bark Busters gave me the tools I needed to read dogs, identify problems and create a plan for resolving those problems. Seeing things from the dog’s perspective and being able to “speak dog” is the key. Let me teach you how!
Ruth's Marquardt is outstanding at helping you understand the relationship your have with your beloved dog. She explains why your dog might be behaving the way they are, that made you even consider looking at trainers. I never knew trying different dog food could settle my dog down, but Ruth suggested it and we tried it and I think it has helped immensely along with our training with Toby.
You might want to know what we were dealing with that we reached out to Ruth. The main reason was that he was biting me pretty much on a daily basis. I don't know if that's how he thought he should play or what. But what really crossed the line was when he bit my nephew for what I believe was the second time. I feared for Toby's life at that point. He wasn't good around kids at all. His biting and aggressiveness was the main issue, but some other annoyances were his barking, listening when called, having to chase him when he had something he shouldn't have, chewing on rugs, shoes etc.., pulling on leash. Those were our original goals for him.
From the first visit where Ruth came, I honestly saw some immediate changes in Toby. She spent maybe three hours teaching us the Bark Busters program, answering any questions we had and working with Toby. She taught us what we needed to do and then we implemented the techniques on a consistent basis.
I was amazed that first meeting at how well he responded and only could be hopeful from there forward.
That first meeting was back in the end of May of 2017. In June, Toby and I worked hard and I couldn't be prouder of him. When Ruth came back at the end of June, she was just as happy and maybe surprised as I was. She told me that, both Toby and I look much more relaxed and happier. We were doing our training everyday and he was doing every exercise without problem. He wasn't biting me, which I couldn't believe and I even started walking our lot line with him in preparation to maybe try him off leash. Ruth encouraged me to try it that second meeting and I haven't looked back. He loves running free, fetching balls and being chased by me!!
It's almost November of 2017 now and Toby and I are at the point where were walking our cul da sac with the leash dragging on the ground instead of me holding it, in hopes of one day that he won't need a leash.
I never in my wildest dreams did I ever think he would be able to do some of these things, running free in the yard, walking leash free, him not biting.
Beyond all my expectations!! Plus Toby and I have such a better connection, as him as my loyal companion.
