This place is special. The mood was set perfectly at the bar by a few of Amanda’s creative and delicious cocktails. Dinner was multiple plates, which in hindsight we cannot decide which one was our favorite. Chef Michael Noll’s attention to detail, building textures and flavors that come
together brilliantly, is something I haven’t experienced in this city. Dessert is as much deserving of praise as the more savory dishes on the menu. Playful mixing of textures, layers of flavor and evocative intent really set this place apart from any other restaurant in the city. The atmosphere is inviting, relaxed and really puts you at ease to be able to fully enjoy the experience. If you value artfully crafted, flavor forward intelligent food this is a must visit. Arrived at the all new bardo restaurant in the gold district and was immediately welcomed into a warm and inviting space.

The impeccable decor and eye for detail is apparent at every corner.

We were greeted with great warmth by the owners and Chef Michael took great care and concern over my allergies.

Their menu is a true culinary artisan experience!

Disclaimer: I didn't eat food, so I can only review drinks.

Amanda was fanatastic behind the bar! We arrived at 11:30PM on a Friday and she welcomed myself, my girlfriend and two friends to four open seats at the corner of the bar. We were immediately in awe of Amanda's knowledge of beer, wine and spirits. She answered all of our questions and directed us to cocktails that would suit our tastebuds. She allowed us a few tastes of some different spirits that she heard us talking about and even gave us some history on the medicinal qualities of one of the ingredients in my delicious coffee-based drink.

I tend to be a tough critic of cocktails in Charlotte, but I have found a place I'd come back to time and time again! More...
