I have worked with Barclay's Interiors and specifically Megan for the last 6 months. What has impressed me the most is the way in which Barclays has understood what I like and dislike. This has been most evident in the wide selection of furnishings that have been sourced initially. From this I qu... More...

Q&As

On receipt of a design brief, we usually start conceptually. If we're working with a luxury residential client, we would begin by asking questions about themselves, their hobbies, interests and passions, then we would begin to build an environment which resonates with the individual both practically and aesthetically. There has to be balance between what they're comfortable with and what challenges and surprises them too, and then synergy between. Otherwise why hire a designer?

Barclay Interiors doesn't have a 'House Style' as such, and we're proud of that. It means we can be diverse in catering for the individual needs of a project, our clients are on their own design pathway, we simply guide them with our expert experience, access to top industry suppliers and creative understanding.

Creating environments. I'm very privileged to be trusted by our clients in what is a often a very personal thing to share. We may work on a project for 6 weeks - 1 year. They live in it forever. It’s a huge and wonderful responsibility.

Wow - there's a question! My inspiration came from my creative parents. I had grown up around design, drama and music. Even when studying law, I veered towards the arts in my minor subjects. I had previously studied textile design, calligraphy, fine art, millinery, and the history of art and architecture; however, the finance sector beckoned but taught me some valuable lessons. I then retrained in interior design and started my own business in 1998.

I am lucky to have a team who share in my own beliefs and passions. Working with Barclay Interiors means that you will always be met by warm, friendly co-operative staff who only want to achieve the greatest results for you. Our personal approach ensures that our clients are always comfortable to discuss and explore options, in the safe knowledge that we will deliver on time and within budget.
