After seeing this place for a long time, finally decided to dine here which i should have done a long time. This place is near the holt Renfrew and the Ctrain which is very convenient. I love the interior and the vibe of the place. The staff was very helpful , friendly and fast despite the busy night. With regard to the food it was perfect. Love that they served paella! Bit pricey but overall a nice place in downtown Calgary. We were a big group and had drinks and snacks. Quality of all the snacks were good but nothing great about it. Ambience was bit noisy for our liking however it is huge inside and there is a 2nd level available for additional/quiet sitting. I came here for my company Christmas party. The whole restaurant had a Christmassy feel with a tree and decorations for you to take pics. We were a small group of less than ten people but we still ordered many tapas as they all looked so good! We got the paella, greek pork ribs, butter chicken, truffle fries, chicken pizza, calamari, garlic bread, roasted cauliflower, prawn dishes, as well as deserts like churros and creme brulee. For drinks we got wine, prosecco, sangria, raspberry vodka, kiwi cucumber Gin & tonic, as well as many others.All the food was great and the service was very good! Visited recently and sat at the bar.The bartender introduced himsaelf as Mike and treated us like we drank there all the time. Went in the following day for the Sangria and once again Mike treated us like old friends.The Sangrias were as good if not better than any I've ever had in Spain.Mike your a diamond and you enhanced our visit to Calgary. We were going to go to a pub after work but I walked by this place and it smelled amazing so we changed our plans. Gour. mand had been here before but had only ever had one dish so we decided to get a few tapas items. We ordered patatas bravas, steak & frites and fried cheese. The patatas bravas was quite different than any other we had had both her and in Spain. But every patatas bravas is unique. I particularly liked the squishiness of the potatos and the fried egg on top. The manchego fried cheese was delicious but definitely eat it right away while the cheese is still melty. The breading is panko so it wasn't heavy, juts nice and light. But it comes in threes so if there are two of you you might have to compromise. The steak was delicious and tangy, we had to order it medium but normally we would order rare. But even at medium it was lovely. The fries were okay. They were fries but the hubby wasn't feeling them. Our sever was very nice and brought us churros for dessert. I wasn't overly a fan of the homemade chocolate hazelnut (granted it was way better than Nutella) but the dolce de leche dip was great and the churros themselves were warm and sugary. A lovely end to the meal. I would recommend this place for a group or a date and after work it wasn't busy at all. I hear it is a madhouse at lunch though. More...
