I love milk tea, but don't generally care for milk tea-inspired desserts. My sister came into town and insisted we go, and I'm so glad we came.We got the milk tea soft serve with bubbles and oh my god was it good. I really wasn't expecting it. The soft serve wasn't too sweet, and the bubbles were well prepared.Don't pass this place up! It's worth the hype. More...

New York itself is a metropolis of bubble tea, and there is never a shortage. Boba has this insane cult following in the most urban and metropolitan cities and New York is in my opinion the largest of the American hubs. San Francisco and Los Angeles are contenders for the 2nd largest. So whenever I am in New York, which I usually visit during the summer months; I am usually holding some sort of tea drink to get through the heat.I have had Bar Pa Tea bookmarked for quite some time and took my cousin there to have boba and soft serve. A quaint cafe set up in white with a minimalist interior. When I had arrived there was a small line with patrons eager to order a cup of soft serve topped with golden boba. I went in hoping to try their ube soft serve and unfortunately they were not producing that flavor as ube was for the winter season. So I ended up ordering their oolong tea soft serve topped with extra chewy golden colored honey boba. The soft serve was creamy and full of oolong flavor and the boba was a delight to eat. I did also order a grapefruit green tea with golden boba; yes I had more boba and it was so refreshing especially on a hot summers day.I would say that If I lived in New York, that I would be visiting Bar Pa Tea on a daily basis and it would become my favorite spot for bubble tea. Amazing tea shop in NYC! Came here on an absolutely freezing winter day, and of course, decided to order an iced milk tea. And of course, I decided to take it outside and carry it back to my hotel which was a 20 minute walk away. When I got back into the warm hotel room and took of sip of the really cold milk tea, it tasted so delicious and refreshing. The tea flavor was strong and it wasn't that sweet, which was great. I stumbled upon this place after getting dinner in Chinatown, and I'm so very glad I did. Their soft serve is incredible and I will now go out of my way for it. They seem to rotate oolong, black tea, and green tea soft serve. To that, you can add either large or mini bubbles (boba), honey wheat pretzel, oreo cookie crumbs, or stroopwafel. I haven't yet tried any of their many drinks because I'm too in love with the soft serve (mix of 2 flavors, with large bubbles is my go-to). The place is pretty small, but if you happen to get there at a non-busy time you can grab a seat to savor 15 minutes of tasty, icy delight. More...

Possibly best boba tea in the city. They have a homemade agave sweetener, non dairy milk options and the best soft chewy boba pearls. They have mini bubbles and regular and you can do a mix of both. The matcha latte is great, and so is the Iron Goddess. Very smooth and just the right sweetness with the middle level. The fro yo is also very unique and great! Love that you can add the boba pearls to the tea yogurt. More...

We got the oolong milk latte and the jasmine green tea latte, all with boba. We even tried adding the beet powder to one of the jasmine lattes, which made it a beautiful pink color without changing the taste. The oolong latte was all of our favorite, and the boba was good as well. However, the jasmine tea tasted a little over-brewed. A good boba spot, and they did a nice job of making it Instagrammable as well. More...

Simply amazing bubble tea with fresh ingredients. I stumbled across Bar Pa Tea after a long day shopping in SoHo. It was one of those moments where you're craving something sweet and don't candy, but something much more refined. But, not too refined as it should be kept casual during the day. This is where Bar Pa Tea stands out of the large crowd of boba shops in Lower Manhattan. There's a variety of flavors for you to choose, and any decision will not be a mistake. I decided to go with the Matcha Green Tea Latte, and it was the best decision I've made for boba. It was full of body and rich flavor, plus the tapioca bubbles aren't just your normal bubbles - they tasted a little less chewy and sweet, which is a plus.I'll definitely be back. However, the shop is pretty small so don't expect seating during busy times. You can take your boba date to-go. More...

I LOVE this shop, it's my favorite boba place in the city by far. Been going since they opened and the quality does not drop. As a big tea lover I like that they have higher grade tea options as well as the standard milk tea. I'm not a big boba person in general, so the mini bubbles are perfect. I don't have to chew my way through all the big boba or feel bad about throwing it out if I can just swallow it all XDAlways looking forward to the holiday ice creams as well (please do halloween)! Keep it up! More...

The bubble teas are alright, nothing remarkable or better than your Vivi, Kung Fu, Coco it TBaar chains. As other reviewers have noted, the space is tight, cramped and on a hot summer's day, airless. Having said all that, the service is quick and fast and the bubble tea swirled ice cream is what makes you trek in from another borough or from uptown. More...

This place is a MUST every time I'm in New York. They have bubble tea lattes that are so cute & really good. When I go, I always get the soft serve because I haven't found anything like it back home in LA. Their soft serves are milk tea flavored & you have the option of ordering your ice cream with boba on top! They change the flavors sometimes but the black tea one is usually always there. The flavor of the ice cream has strong tea flavor & has just the right amount of sweetness. The tapioca balls are the perfect consistency: chewy, bouncy, not too soft, but not too firm either. For me, this soft serve is so great because it combines all my favorite desserts into one product. Milk tea, boba & ice cream! More...

I love mini bubbles and was first introduced to them by Pa Tea, which had opened in the city years before Bar Pa Tea. Came in around 5pm on a Thursday. There was no line and the staff was friendly. They were helpful while we tried to figure out what teas to get. I got the jasmine black tea with boba. It came out in a cute cup with nice sayings on it. Overall it was pretty good and smooth. Not too sweet either. The boba wasnt as soft as I prefer them to be, but not bad. Keep in mind, there is a 10 dollar minimum on cards and apple pay. They also have snacks for purchase (like pocky and chips) as well as rice balls for purchase. The ambience inside is definitely a great spot for hanging out and working, though that was a bit busier and people were chatty. More...

I came here really often when it first opened because their oolong and black tea soft serve were amazing! My favorite drinks are the black tea latte and the iron goddess. I love ordering it with a mix of big and small bobas. Keep in mind that their drinks are really caffeinated though, I found myself a little jittery and couldn't fall asleep a few times when I had it too late at night. They also have collabs with other dessert spots every now and then so it's great to check back and see what specials they offer during holidays. More...

Heard the buzz about this place and there bubble tea soft serve and decided to check it out with some friends. For a hot Saturday afternoon, it was as expected very crowded. The shop is quite small with minimal seating, so just something to expect if you are going at a peak hour. Despite the large line, the workers were very efficient at taking and making sure everyone got their orders. I got the oolong soft serve with mini boba topping, and my friend got the black tea and oolong swirl with regular boba topping. The soft serve and the boba topping were both very good, and not too sweet. It tasted just like you would expect from a milk tea soft serve. The difference between the oolong and the black tea soft serve is very slight, and I probably wouldn't be able to tell there was a difference if I didn't compare them side by side.  Overall, a very clean, cute, and aesthetic dessert shop. I would love to see them expand their tea flavors for their soft serve to be a little more diverse in flavor. More...

Bar pa tea serves not only delicious bubble tea but also offers black tea ice cream topped with boba!!! What a cool concept and they execute both really well. We stopped by this weekend and it was definitely a popular spot as the place filled up by the time we were leaving. The soft serve at Bar Pa Tea is absolutely phenomenal. They occasionally have seasonal flavors but their regular black tea/oolong swirl is the stuff I dream about. Silky, fragrant, and addictive! Personally, I prefer the larger sized boba with the soft serve because it lends a chewier mouthfeel but they also offer a mix of both large and small boba for the same price (50c add-on) if you like variety. If you come often, make sure you track your purchases on the Clover app. There is a free medium drink/soft serve (topping included) per 8 stamps! A good option for someone who's looking for a milk tea soft serve. I was disappointed that they didn't have the rose tea flavor on the day I went, but I settled for a swirl of Oolong and Black Tea flavors. You can't really tell which flavor is which when they give you the swirl. It had the perfect amount of tea flavor and sweetness. The boba toppings add a nice chewiness to break up the smoothness of the ice cream. It is a hole in the wall spot, so you'll have to enjoy your treat outside. This is probably for the best, because their air conditioning is either lacking or was broken on the day I went. More...

3.5/5Came by Bar Pa Tea after having this place bookmarked for years. Boba soft serve isn't as uncommon as it used to be but I still had to try it here. Came by on a Tuesday afternoon in the winter. The shop is small and there are a handful of tiny tables. There were 1-2 coming in and out during my visit. They had free wifi so I was even able to get some work done. For my soft serve I got the Oolong and Black Tea swirl. The consistency is smooth but had that firmer less fatty/milky overall texture. The black tea is relatively mellow while the oolong has a bit more of that off pungency. Not quite fragrant but something that says it's not normal tea. However once the two are mixed together it's pretty hard to tell either way.The boba itself is on the light and gummy side. I got the mixed size which includes tiny pearls and large pearls. I prefer the large overall but mixed did offer more variation in texture. They ask if you want them on the top or bottom but honestly it's a lose/lose. It's a bit difficult to eat when they're piled on top but hard to get the right ratio if they're buried at the bottom. Personally I'd ask them to maybe just put half the amount on the bottom and half on top.Overall, Bar Pa Tea wasn't anything too special but it was a fun new take on how to get my fill of boba. Bar Pa Tea is the best spot to get a well-balanced and high quality milk tea in the NYC area! The interior is very cute and aesthetically pleasing, but I do have to mention that seating is very limited. The girl at the cashier offered me and my friend samples of their black tea and oolong tea soft serves, both of which were delicious! Definitely one of the better soft serves I've had in terms of flavor integrity. It had a strong tea flavor while also being sweet and milky. I opted for the black tea latte, which also had the perfect balance of strong tea to milk and sugar. It was the perfect mid-day wake me up! I wish I got the mini boba (bubbles I guess if you're from the area), which my friend got in her soft serve! The texture was perfect and they were lightly sweetened. The items were on the pricey side, which I'm ok with because of the quality of our desserts. If you're looking for strong and delicious tea or a unique and flavorful soft serve experience, definitely swing by if you're in the area! More...

I tried Bar Pa Tea for the first time yesterday and I really enjoyed it! It's definitely it's own kind of bubble tea place. I wouldn't be able to compare it to any other bubble tea place that I've been to so I do think it's quite unique. I thought the prices were normal like any other bubble tea store, and the tea itself was very tasty. I just wish they had more options for tea! I was really hoping they'd serve Thai tea but it didn't seem to be listed on the menu so I settled for a black tea latte with oat milk and my sister got a matcha tea latte with almond milk. It's a small spot and it's definitely popular because within minutes of opening, there was already a line out the door. It can get overcrowded but people don't typically stay there once they get what they ordered. The staff was very friendly and worked very quickly. The tea was yummy and I really appreciated that they had many options for milk substitutions. The place itself was nice and clean, all white with cute signs on the walls. I'd go back. More...

As a huge fan of tea and ice cream, the store drew me in pretty easily!I got a Oolong tea + Hojicha tea swirl in a cup. They give you a LOT (enough to share with two), which is always a plus! I thoroughly enjoyed it especially because it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet (as most soft serves are). It also has a fuller flavor (from the teas); this isn't your average vanilla soft serve.Only downside is the very limited seating and on a Saturday afternoon it's pretty crowded so you may have to wait a bit! With the surplus of dessert options in NY, I had to narrow down my options to a few dessert places since I was only in town for the weekend and I am glad Bar Pa Tea was one of my choices. The soft serve here is delicious! Often times when I order soft serve ice cream that differs from the typical chocolate or vanilla flavor, the taste is so mild you can barely taste the different. Not here! Their soft serve literally tastes like milk tea! I got the twist with small boba and it was so delicious I actually finished the whole thing myself! This place has been on my to-go and to-taste list for visiting New York City!  The weekend I came to visit, it was scorching hot.  I definitely needed a cold milk tea to brighten my mood and lift my spirits up.  The inside of this place is really tiny, but thank goodness for A/C... opening the door and getting blasted with that was such a sweet relief.  I decided to order a brown sugar oolong milk tea and added the float option, which is a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  I tend to stay away from brown sugar type of milk teas, as they seem to sweet to me but today I deviated... and I'm glad I did!  I asked for mini bubbles and 75% sweetness.  I crossed my fingers hoping it wouldn't be too overwhelming and... it was so delicious!  I loved the combination of everything and it definitely hit the spot.  Next time, going to try the soft serve for sure! That was the main draw for us here since 1) we've never tried that before 2) we've heard nothing but good things about this place. The bubble tea soft serve flavors are limited to Black Tea, Roasted Oolong Tea, and a swirl of both flavors. We went with the Roasted Oolong Tea soft serve with mini stroopwafel and mini bubbles on the side and I must say that the taste did not disappoint. I had pretty high hopes for Bar Pa Tea, and it totally met them! I opted for the oolong/black tea swirl and had my soft serve sandwiched by regular-sized tapioca pearls, with a cute mini stroopwafel poking off the side. The soft serve is delicious, refreshing, and not too sweet! I really enjoyed the swirl, as the flavors were pretty distinctive and complemented each other well. The stroopwafel was good but a bit hard since it was cold, so while it was a cute add-on, I wouldn't recommend it.The bubbles were cooked well and were perfectly sweetened, but since they naturally harden as they cool, I suggest just getting bubbles on top or eating everything quickly--which is not difficult at all! Got the soft serve swirl (oolong and black tea) with large and small bubbles! Service was good as the cashier gave me her advice on what would look best. However, the soft serve was already melting a bit by the time I got it, so eat (or drink) it fast! Really loved the tea latte taste--not too sweet but hard to distinguish between the oolong and black tea flavors. I preferred the soft serve much more than the pearls, but they were a nice complement to the consistency to the ice cream. Would pick just the mini bubbles over the regular ones next time. More...

The establishment is pretty small with some seats to sit. We ordered the matcha lemonade, lemon green tea and mixed soft served. All were very good. I was most interested in the soft serve. The flavors were really strong flavors of tea without being too sharp or odd tasting. The bubbles were not ready when we were there so we waited three extra minutes for the bubbles. The bubbles look different from most places. These are more brown but the texture was still nice. More...

3.5/5I am an absolute fan of their soft serves! The portioning and the amount of bubbles/toppings that are added on for the price that you are paying is unbelievable. You would think that it'd be overpriced just like other ice-cream spots in the city, but instead, it is inexpensive for a huge swirl of creamy, delicious, and unique flavors! My favorite is probably their rose flavor, which appears every so often when they have a promotion for a specific holiday, but I wouldn't say I really enjoy the taste of the other flavors as much. As for their bubble tea, which is what they are mainly known for. I feel that it does need a bit of improvement. They focus heavily on appearance of the drinks, creating an ombre effect on most of them. It does look aesthetic and instagram-able, but the drinks are nothing out of the ordinary. I tried the matcha once, but the sugar didn't seem to be mixed in well enough. My first few sips tasted amazing, but after that, the drink just tasted like a bitter mess. I do think that their bubbles are worth mentioning. Unlike other boba spots, bar pa tea doesn't drench their bubbles in brown sugar or honey, but it still remains a decent amount of sweet--a perfect addition to the drink without feeling like you are cheating yourself on your diet! The service is good--they are able to handle huge crowds and move in a fast paced environment, while giving a smile and good customer service. Definitely try their soft serve if you are ever in the area shopping at soho! More...

I came across Bar Pa Tea while researching/fantasizing about having boba at my wedding reception :)My now husband and I went to Bar Pa Tea to taste the teas, tapioca, and soft serve -- and we WERE IMMEDIATELY SOLD. So fresh, so delicious. I love that the teas are freshly brewed (no powders) and the soft serve is glorious. I wish I lived closer to Bar Pa Tea; I'd legit be there all the time!!In regards to hiring Bar Pa Tea as an outside vendor during our wedding reception at the Essex House, we were so thrilled with how everything turned out and our guests LOVED the drinks and soft serve bar. It was such a fun and unique touch to our night! Thank you to Gloria for being so wonderful throughout the planning process and to Patrick and the baristas who worked at our wedding. Would highly recommend Bar Pa Tea to anyone in the NYC area who wants boba and soft serve at their event :) More...

If you like milk tea or boba, this place is definitely for you.First off, the idea of tea soft serve with boba is f$@&ing brilliant, and Bar Pa Tea nailed it. Every time I've been, I've gotten the twist of two teas with the large sized boba. I've tried the small boba as a topping before, but texturally the large boba is far superior. If you're having dinner in the area, this is the perfect place to swing by for dessert. Yuen Yang Float is a black tea latte with bubbles and coffee ice cream from Davey. It was SO GOOD! I got my black tea latte unsweetened because I knew bubbles and ice creams are sweetened already. I made the right call! Together the drink was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet (I usually get my drink with 30% sugar). However the drink is expensive. $9 for a bubble tea lol. I know it's expensive cuz the ice cream itself is $4.5 but it's worth trying. More...

Cozy little place to have a pleasant treat! Came for the swirl soft serve and it was as good as I wanted it to be. The tea flavors were nice and strong and the texture was a creamy soft-serve-icy. The tapioca pearls were also a fun addition. This is definitely the best bubble tea in Manhattan area I tried so far. The bubble tea style is hybrid which combines the new American style and traditional Taiwanese style. It's a little pricey around $5-$6 and the wait time is a little bit longer than regular bubble tea chain store. I ordered a boba match latte. Smooth and not sweet. This bubble tea place is really nice, prices are average-fair. We intended to get the soft serve but it only came in two flavors. I had also thought there were going to be more flavors of bubble tea itself. I ended up getting the teaffogato, which is vanilla soft serve under your choice of tea. It was amazing. Every time I walk by this place it's super full! Which is why each time, I've only ever gotten boba to go. This time, my cousin wanted to try the soft serve so we waited and ate it outside. I opted for the black tea and hojicha swirl soft serve with mini boba on the top. This was really good! I loved the subtle tea flavors - and it wasn't too sweet either. Chewy boba with tea flavor packed soft serve. Simplicity is key with this dessert.Grapefruit green tea w/ umeboshi ($6.50): Light and refreshing option for summertime. Grapefruit juice is served best with a side of green tea.Oolong matcha tea latte ($6): The oolong tea flavor really comes through and blends so seamlessly with the matcha. I saw this cafe had boba tea ice cream which was different. I read the Yelp reviews and decided to check this place out while I'm here visiting NYC from Kansas City. The place was located a little ways from Little Italy and Chinatown. It was pretty easy to find using my GPS. There is construction with the store next door,  so be cautious. The shop is small. There is one table for 3, a table for 2, 6 bar stools and a bench for seating. The staff was friendly and nice to let us sample the two ice cream flavors they offer which were Black and Hojicha Tea. My friend and I both liked the Black tea ice cream flavor and got one to share with Tapioca Pearls and Oreo Cookie Crumbs. It was really good! Also, there was a promo for another popular dessert that I noticed most people in the shop ordered. Therefore, I would come back and try the Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream and Tea Float next time!!! tl;dr great for a unique milk/bubble tea or ice cream dessert, I would definitely recommend if you have about 20 minutes of time on your hands.A cute little tea shop near Chinatown in NYC, Bar Pa Tea offers a unique mix of soft serve ice cream and milk tea. The shop is a little cafe with limited seating and self-service at the counter, accepting cashless and cash payments, which make it extremely convenient for a grab-and-go snack or dessert.Their offerings are quite diverse and unique, especially since most everything is milk tea or boba-related. They offer soft-serve ice cream in black tea and hojicha (roasted green tea) flavors, or a swirl, and you can top it off with boba. Alternatively, if you are craving milk tea, you can convert it into a float, which incorporates the ice cream aspect again. The tapioca pearls are prepared fresh every 2 hours, and that freshness really shines through--the boba is soft and extremely chewy, exactly what makes a great milk tea drink. They have boba in both large and small sizes, whether you prefer larger pearls to chew on for longer or tiny ones that are sprinkled around the top. There's so many different ways to customize that I couldn't even decide, so for those of you like me, you can always just try a mix of everything! The only part of this cafe that was a little subpar is just the service and environment. You simply cannot work in here--it's almost a hole-in-the-wall joint because the line nearly always extends out the door and there's little to no seating at any time. The service is relatively slow, so the lines move slowly, so getting something here is a real time commitment. Luckily, there is A/C, which is a nice relief from the hot outside during summer hours, but you'll just have to tolerate the very compact interior set-up of this establishment. More...

My husband's black sugar oolong was pretty good too. Definitely a place we would visit again. Why the four stars if this place is so great? Well, the cashier had a poker face and was taking our orders like a robot. It wouldn't hurt to greet your customers with smile and a bit of friendliness, or was that part of your job description? I liked having the options to choose between the big bubbles, mini bubbles, and both, and also getting to choose if I wanted it on the top, bottom, or both. I got both for each option and loved it. We were wondering around SoHo when I was dying of thirst and craving a cold drink because of how hot it was. I saw many people passing by with super cute drinks and decided to go to this place. It was around the afternoon and was pretty packed-especially because it was a small place. Hence I wrote this:Bar Bar Black SheepHave you any Boba?Yes Fox, yes FoxThree cups fullOne for the Barbie and one for the studAnd one for the soft serve, which is secretly a dud(gasp)I'm actually a big fan of PA Tea, and I knew about them before anybody else did. I used to go to the original location which is now closed down. I miss it. Usually, I can depend on them to make me a Brown Sugar Milk Tea well but this particular location wouldn't do anything for me. They were very strict about sticking to the menu and it and it didn't seem to make any sense to me. The PA Tea down the road is so friendly. These peeps were sooooo passive aggressive and pissy. So I just got the soft serve instead because that's what makes this location really different to the other. It's not bad but it's not very good either. Prices not great. They won't mix up the drinks the way I want them and they were kind of rude about it although the same girl was nice to me when I was leaving.Maybe that was the point - that she was happy I was leaving. In any case I really like the other location and the girls that work there and I will probably keep going back to that one cuz they're actually willing to mix things up for me. But this one was a big let-down except for the sexy artwork all over the wall. Now I know you're all obsessed with this place, but I like my ice cream perfect and I've had it all over Europe, the best of the US, and Italy's amazing Gelato, so I can't pretend this is anything more than average. Would still get 5 stars for the lovely drinks except they wouldn't make them my way for me. Would still get 4 stars but for the nasty service. Then I came back here again (what can I say, I was walking by, I wanted boba, there was a line out the door full of hotties, some of them were smiling at me, so I got in the line), and this time, the service was much, much nicer (after a long wait). The product was delicious (but I expected that, it usually is), and a 5 star quality Boba. The only problem is, I am scared (read: don't wanna waste my time and get b**ched at) to ask for what I actually want. So I can't give more than 4 stars and besides the soft serve is wayyyyyyy overrated (you're all on something, sorry - have you even had good ice cream, top notch soft serve, Milwaukee custard, real Italian gelato, or even amazing East Asian ice cream? This isn't any of those).Let's finish with a rap. I got the double/mixed soft serve, which is their signature item as its a black milk tea and oolong milk tea soft serve ice cream. The ice cream was very delicious, and wasn't too sweet! I love the contrast of flavors from the black milk tea and the oolong milk tea, as both their tastes were very recognizable. Not a huge fan of the pricing though. Although I got a decent amount of ice cream for $5.50, I feel like I should get at least one complimentary topping (perhaps tapioca) since for that price point what I got was a little lacking (only the soft serve). Other spots like New Territories, Soft Swerve, Taiyaki, and Eggloo you get a lot more for that same price point. More...

Best. Dessert. Ever. This might be because it caters to all my sweet tooth cravings--ice cream and boba--but I honestly have no complaints. The shop is small and humble but the interior was hip and trendy (made for a lot of people taking pictures for social media). The workers are friendly and give out samples so you know that you are getting what you want. I ordered the black milk tea soft serve with both mini boba and regular boba. I'm usually not a fan of mini boba at all, but it's actually pretty fun as a topping for soft serve! The ice cream was the perfect balance as well. You were able to taste a good amount of the tea but it was also balanced out by the added sweetness. I only wish that they would open one of these stores back in LA! I have told all of my friends visiting New York that this is my #1 recommendation. More...

Combining two of my favorite desserts in the world? I'm about it. A very simple idea but very well executed. I got the black tea and oolong swirl with mini bubbles and it was such a dream! The deep tea flavor (almost roasted) really shines through which I really appreciate. I've been dying to try this place because it's all over my Instagram feed. Let me just say, it was absolutely amazing. I got the swirl soft serve ice cream with mini bubbles. Swirl is a mixture of Oolong and black tea ice cream. Both the Oolong and black tea were rich in flavor. Not too sweet but sweet enough to fulfill my sweet tooth cravings! You could really taste both the tea flavors. The mini bubbles were also spot on. It had a chewy texture and went perfectly with the two different types of ice cream. I would definitely go out of my way to get this again. It was most definitely worth the hype. More...

Perfect spot for something sweet after dinner. I made my way over here from chinatown because the bar pa tea i typically go to near Grand St. was closed.I got the oolong soft sever with oreo crumbs and bubbles. this was my first time trying tea ice cream and i had to admit, it was an unique blend of tea and ice cream and not too sweet like the ones from ice cream truck. We got two toppings which i felt like maybe too much cause every bite had something else mixing with the ice cream= next time i would get just one topping. It was a bit pricey for the size. since it's not your typical soft serve ice cream shop, i could definitely indulge a lot more. I would come back again if i am around the area looking for something sweet. More...

I got a swirl soft served ice cream with mini bubbles. They put oolong ice cream in the bottom of the cup and black tea ice cream on top.5 for black tea ice cream- strong 'hong cha' flavor but perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness and creaminess.4 for oolong ice cream- subtle oolong flavor. Also perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess.  Maybe, Having the black tea first then oolong ,kind of cancels out the oolong flavor in my taste buds.5 for mini bubbles- i love the tapioca mini bubbles, chewy but not hard or too starchy.Next time, I will ask them to put oolong on top of the black tea ice cream. Their flavors are mainly tea derived so if you are a fan of tea, or just ice cream in general, give this place a try. Pricing is decent compare to other city prices. It's a must place to visit if you're ever in town, my friend and I each got the black tea soft serve with bubbles. The consistency of the bubbles were on point and the overall soft serve + bubbles weren't overwhelmingly sweet. My friend isn't a big dessert person but she also enjoyed the soft serve. The only downside of the store is that it's small with limited seating, however, the cold weather with limited seating in the store didn't stop customers from coming. I came here skeptical cause the teas and ice cream were so pretty and Instagramable that I thought there's no way it could be delicious as well. But wow was I pleasantly surprised! After taking my obligatory photos I took a sip of the rose green tea latte with ice cream and was like d@mn. I should have ordered more cause I don't want to share (we bought two items for 4 people. I know I know stupid but it's a little pricey so wanted to see first before committing all the way). the bubbles were a soft red cause they are made with beet powder and TBH I couldn't taste the beets but whatever I don't think I wanted to anyways haha. But they were quite pretty and most importantly had a great chew. Despite having turned my milk tea into a float by adding a scoop of ice cream to it, it was not overly sweet! I didn't even have to ask for it less sweet (cause I forgot) which was great cause a lot of the chain bubble teas come ridiculously sweet by default. The soft serve was also really good. Nice and creamy and flavorful. Only annoying thing was the inside of the swirl was empty.. like they just put it on the outside of the cup for show and then it's all air in the middle :/ regardless it was delicious and will def be back! We may or may not have been inspired to plan this trip to NYC because of repeated exposure to Bar Pa Tea's soft serve on our Insta feed. Rating Breakdown:1.5/2 Stars for Taste --We ordered the hojicha and black tea swirl with boba. What's not to like about tea-flavored soft serve. The tea flavor was strong, but the ice cream was creamy and smooth -- the perfect soft serve. The boba was soft and chewy, even after sitting on/in the soft serve. We also ordered a oolong tea latte with tiny pearls. These pearls were tinier than any I had before. The first mouthful was shocking, I almost spat them out the hundred thousand pearls that flooded my mouth. The latte itself was unremarkable0.5/1 Stars for Value --OK the novelty of tea-flavored soft serve will get me, but for $5 you get a small cup of ice cream swirl with a HOLLOW-ass center. Mildly disappointing to say the least. Another $.50 for a topping1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- Servers were friendly and worked quickly. My only complaint is the hollow ice cream center. I felt betrayed, I felt traumatized. Why do bad things happen to good people?Bonus star because I would come back for the tea soft serve, this time bracing myself emotionally for that hollow center and skipping the boba as a topping.TL;DR -- Milk tea soft serve, delicious but $5 for a small cup with hollow center More...

So I came here randomly not knowing that I had this place bookmarked and for a good reason! The interior is really cute and intimate and I love the decor of the place. I didn't get to try their ice cream but that gives me a reason to come back.  I think the quality of their bubble tea is really fresh and I love the fact that every two hours they cook a new batch of tapioca pearls. I definitely wish the seating arrangement was a bit more comfortable but there a lot of small places like this in the city so I can't really say much else on that. The employees were super helpful because I was a bit confused on what flavors they had for boba but the cashier said anything that's on their menu can be made into bubble tea which is really great. This is much like going to the old PaTea(closed down, not that far from the here). One thing that was different is their price. Everything are much more expensive and less drink selection than the old one. It is moving toward more expensive bubble tea shop(most time higher quality) in the city. A large cold drink with a topping will cost you slightly more than $7 after tax. I usually get their ice matcha oolong latte with oat milk and mini bubble(Not many stores have that). One thing good is that you can adjust the level of sweetness and the strength of the tea, as well as select varies kind of milk(free of charge). They also add seasonal drink from time to time. The rose green tea(seasonal) had a strong rose flavor and the bubble which comes with the drink was made of beet's coloring instead of regular brown color. It didn't have any taste difference. It was good compare to other stores. For their special soft serve tea ice cream, with same topping as the drinks, had a good tea flavor but not my favorite. The price is roughly the same as the drink. It is worth it if you want to try something new and different. Other than the price is a bit pricy, it is a good place to get a well made drink. More...

Bar Pa Tea is honestly a great dessert option. At first I was skeptical because the idea of bubble tea combined with soft serve seemed fairly gimmicky. However, after actually coming here and trying it for myself, my opinion changed. There's a lot more to this store than just a place to take pictures for Instagram. The thing that I really like is that the soft serve has a real tea taste and has a good sweetness level. Unfortunately, I feel like their standard flavors of oolong and black tea taste very similar, but they do sometimes have specialty flavors for holidays which are also good. Nonetheless, the soft serve has terrific flavor and texture and tastes way less sugary than many bubble teas I have had in the past. I like to get the large bubbles on the top and bottom of my soft serve so that I can eat them throughout my soft serve. They offer small bubbles as well, which I thought I wouldn't like because they are a pain to drink in a bubble tea. However, the experience is better since you don't have to worry about inhaling them since you're eating the soft serve, not drinking it. I got the mini stroopwafel topping once as well, it was just OK. What I dislike is that it's not particularly cheap, it is on the more expensive end of bubble tea type desserts, but it's still not too bad compared to some other dessert places in Manhattan. Also, the shop is very small. It's larger than just a kiosk, but there are probably less than 10 seats in the whole store with not a lot of room for movement. It would be a struggle to fit larger groups especially if there are already customers there.Overall, I'm happy with Bar Pa Tea and am always willing to come back! More...

Refreshing snack and still delicious even in winter as I was freezing and unable to feel my hands before I walked in.I got the mixed swirl of the Black Tea and Tie GuanYin flavors. Only complaint is that the soft serve could be a bit creamier; some bites I had were a little more icy. Ask for samples if you're not sure what flavor to get! More...

I've never had anything like this and I really enjoyed it. First of all oolong tea soft serve, yum. I was worried that it would have to much of a tea taste to it, but it was delicious. They also serve black tea soft serve too, but I enjoyed the oonlong better. They are really nice, and offer you samples so go ahead and ask to try them.I also enjoyed their boba or bubbles as they call it. Bar Pa Tea is all about making their boba with no artificial flavors and nor high fructose corn syrup. I love how you can have them with the soft serve. I got the mixed bubbles, which is the small boba with the regular boba. I got it so that the mini bobas are on top of the oolong soft serve and the regular on bottom, and I got to say I wouldn't recommend the mini boba with your soft serve because it begins to harden. So come in and try their oolong soft served with regular size bubbles. More...

Only tried the ice cream but as a milk tea lover...IT WAS SO GOOD. Had the Iron Goddess flavour aka Tieguanyin which is apparently a type of Oolong and it had the best milk tea flavour I've ever tasted. Got both size of boba/bubbles and highly recommend getting the smaller boba only if you're having ice cream. Will be coming back so often - even in this cold! More...

After coming across this on yelp, we were very tempted to go and try their "Black tea soft serve ice cream". The ice cream was so delicious!! We had ordered it with mini bubbles, which was a great choice. (We hope to try it out with the regular bubbles or mixed option next time). Coming from New Jersey, i personally have never ever tried tea flavored ice cream, and this definitely does not disappoint! However, aside from the pros, the only thing I disliked was the fact that the ice cream was layered to make it seem like it was full. The cup was hollow in the middle, which is not that amusing to see. We also ordered the black tea latte, however it was not as good as the ice cream itself. They mixed black tea alongside with actual milk, but I personally do not enjoy this flavor as much. The bubbles however, were very good quality. (chewy and not as sugary as other places) More...

Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles! I've always wondered why I haven't seen bubble tea soft serve and then I saw Bar Pa Tea all over insta (ooooof course, how else do I find anything these days). Bar Pa Tea is conveniently placed in Nolita and surrounded by several cute and hip brunch spots so it's the perfect place to get dessert afterwards. I honestly didn't even look at the rest of their menu, I knew I was there for their soft serve ice cream. I chose the oolong tea and black tea swirl so I could taste both, and I got the mixed bubbles for the aesthetic. I also added a stroopwafel because who in their right mind says no to one By the time we got our order,  the store was so crowded that we decided to vacate our bench and eat right outside in the 25 degree weather. The stroopwafel and bubbles were a bit hard because they froze quickly, but the ice cream tasted exactly like milk tea - creamy, smooth, and perfectly sweet. Definitely a place I'll be frequenting and introducing to friends! More...

I saw this place all over Instagram and instantly wanted to try it. After all this time I was in the area and a friend suggested it so I was all for it. I already knew I wanted to try their soft serve ice cream with boba before even seeing the menu, even though the menu had some other nice drink options. At the time I went, they had black and oolong flavors. I went with the oolong soft serve with boba and had no regrets. The ice cream was a nice sweet, but not too sweet herbal flavor. The only downside was that the ice cream was hollowed out in the middle. More...

I've been complaining for the better part of a half decade about NY's lack of blue ice cream and Bar Pa Tea has come to answer my prayers... (whining). They use blue algae as coloring for all you health enthusiasts, and a tiny gingerbread house for all of you holiday enthusiasts, and a cute cashier for you creepers (me). They're limited to two ice cream flavors at a time, one usually being an experimental flavor. So far, I've seen earl grey, grapefruit, salted caramel, and rose. Follow their instagram if you want to stay updated. Otherwise, their staples are black tea and oolong. They have a little more range with their bubble teas but nowhere close to other franchises, as they're more focused on quality than brevity. That being said, their lattes are the richest oolongs and black teas I've had in bubble tea form. I'm a simple guy with simple tastes, who doesn't need fancy schmancy colors in order to get a hard on. Give me bubble tea and you'll feed me for a day. Teach me how to make bubble tea and... why would you do that? I would just go to Bar Pa Tea. We live in a capitalist nation, with the exchange of goods for tender....god! More...

Found one of favorite bubble tea and soft serve ice cream in town. They use healthy ingredients and true to the flavors of the natural tea, not overloaded with sugar and flavor powders. Tried the soft serve ice cream with green tea and blue algae. It was smooth and creamy, not overly sweet. The tea lattes were good as well, not overly sweet. I did ask for 70% sugar. There are couple tables but not whole lot of seating FYI. And place is not very large. Their logo is bear and color pink,  which makes it cute and great for Instagram. This place is worth the hype! I saw this boba shop all over social media, specifically FB, and I knew I had to try it out when I visited NYC. I was so interested because it looked delicious in the videos, and I've never seen a boba soft serve before. I came in the afternoon on a Friday, and it was pretty packed! The shop is small, but there is a fair amount of seating inside.I ordered the oolong soft serve with boba (~$5). The price was fair, but I wished they had more sizes for the soft serve because it only comes in one medium size. However, the soft serve was very delicious - I loved the tea flavor and sweet taste of it. The boba itself was soft and chewy - definitely well made. The only downside to my experience was the service. I ordered up front, telling her that I wanted the soft serve with boba. However, she called my name and told me that she forgot to add boba to my price and asked for 50 cents more. I was irritated because I don't carry cash on me, and the burden of the extra cents should've been on her. I fumbled through my wallet and found 50 cents, but she told me it was actually 54 cents with tax. Luckily, I did have 54 cents, but I was pretty upset that the store didn't accommodate for her error. Nonetheless, the soft serve and boba was delicious, and I really enjoyed the ice cream! I hope this place can make its way to California one day. More...

Ok the hype is real. Bar Pa Tea is worth every penny. I said it. Who would have thought bubble tea in ice cream version would be so delicious. They were out of the oolong soft serve an hour before closing on a Sunday evening, which was just fine by me since I was wanting to try the black milk tea flavor anyway. I ordered the black milk tea soft serve with bubbles and it was so good! It was a pretty and insta-worthy dessert that wasn't too heavy or sweet. The soft serve definitely tasted like black milk tea (yes, there is a little caffeine in it) and the bubbles were perfectly chewy. The ratio of bubbles to soft serve was pretty spot on. Although, I could have used with a little more soft serve...My one complaint was the way they layered the soft serve - in the middle of the cup, above the layer of boba, was a whole bunch of nothing - it made me feel cheated of a few bites of soft serve. I would have appreciated having that additional ice cream!Ba Par Tea is definitely a great alternative to the usual bubble tea dessert! More...

This is clearly a very popular place! It was completely packed when we went and couldn't tell where the line was at first. Note that if this is a place where you'd want to hang out with a big group, you might have to find somewhere else to go. Seating it extremely limited. + The hot green tea latte w/ boba was really delicious. I don't eat ice cream, so I opted for a hot drink. It was nicely sweetened (but not overwhelming). + I got the boba because they make them in house. They're sweetly yummy and chewy. Not too big, not too small. It worked well with my drink, but I couldn't eat the boba while my drink was still hot so they all ended up at the bottom after I had drank most of my drink. + It priced pretty average to what boba costs+ The place was pretty clean, the service is quick, and the staff are really friendly. Bar pa tea is very much an Instagram worthy bubble tea/soft serve joint. I adore soft serve but the inside was very crowded and it was cold so I settled for hot bubble tea. Of course after I ordered, seats opened up and I was sad to not be trying to the soft serve BUT, my brown sugar oolong with oat milk as very nice and toasty. I had a mix of small of normal sized bubbles (the small ones are so tiny it's a totally different feel). The biggest downfall are the crowds. There was a group of 8 people and only 2 who had ordered anything and they took up at least half the seats in the shop and weren't even consumers. Definitely worth going to if you're in the area with a bubble hankering and pining for an insta-worthy neon sign, but I wouldn't make a specific trip Will have to update when I try the soft serve because it looks sooo good More...

I always go here for their ice cream, especially because they are always thinking of new special collaborations for every holiday. This definitely helps in making this spot stand out and reeling us back in for more. Plus, they are aesthetic and have a modern & artsy touch to them. All the tea flavored ice cream I have tried (black tea, oolong, rose green tea, & earl grey) from here are fantastic. Black tea is forever my favorite but the earl grey is a close second now and I hope it's here to stay! Not to mention, the bubbles (both regular and mini) are just the right amount of chewy! The oolong tea soft serve is amazing!!! The ice cream has a strong tea flavor without being overly sweet and the mini tapioca on top really compliments this dessert. You can get either small or large boba and choose to have them at the bottom or top of the soft serve. YUM. Love both of the tea flavors, though to be honest I couldn't really taste the difference. AMAZING! Only tried the soft serve but it was fun to switch it up from the average bubble tea and loved the different ways you can customize it. Instagram famous neon sign aside, Bar Pa Tea actually serves some solid bubble tea and soft serve that makes the trip here worthwhile. The must have here is the oolong and black tea soft serve, or better yet the "Swirl," which has both flavors. Top this concoction off with their perfectly cooked and honey-soaked boba, and you have yourself a truly delightful dessert. The ice cream here just oozes with tea flavor and the sweetness is light so nothing is overpowered here. Even better, both boba variants they provide have just the perfect amount of "pop" and are slightly warmed so they do not become too hardened by the cold soft serve. Only in NYC would you find an idea as novel as bubble tea soft serve! Fortunately, this place is more than just Insta-worthy. The soft serve swirl actually had pretty prominent tea flavors. The soft serve wasn't overly sweet either. Another pleasant surprise was the perfectly chewy texture of their freshly cooked boba. I know their boba is fresh because they have these digital clocks mounted on the wall that dictate exactly when each batch of boba has reached optimal texture. More boba shops should take heed. Bar Pa Tea definitely needs to add more flavors. I like the oolong and the classic black tea texture, but they could do so many more! I'm sure it would all taste great! I didn't try their regular milk teas, but if their soft serve is any indication of the quality of their teas, I wouldn't be surprised if their drinks stacked up as well. Anyway, both were highly delicious! This is probably one of my favorite natively NY boba places. After recently moving to California, I actually miss what they have here. There's no doubt that CA boba is much better than NY boba but Bar Pa Tea instilled in me the hope that one day NY will also be a boba powerhouse. The drink was high quality with none of that powder stuff used in place of milk. The one annoying thing was waiting for new boba to get ready if they ever ran out. Who is the genius that decided to put softserve and boba together (not being sarcastic)It actually is amazing. The soft serve flavors of oolong and black tea actually taste like tea with a rich flavor. The boba are also great. In the beginning, they are nicely chewy (QQ). By the end they get a little crunchy on the outside from being in the cold soft serve. Some people don't like that, but i actually liked that texture change.I just wish they had more space to sit cuz it gets crowded quickly. So, come for the tasty dessert but don't expect to be able to lounge around. Highly recommend! More...

I have heard great things about this place, whether it be online or through my friends and I can say that the hype is real. I came in on a Friday around 7 PM and it was quite crowded, but it is probably full all the time since the shop can probably fit around 10 people comfortably. My friends and I shared the black tea soft serve with regular sized boba at the bottom and mini boba on the top. I agree with my friends who told me that the tea flavor is strong and it is! The hate when my drinks are milky but the tea flavor is definitely prominent with this one.The boba was well made and was not too soft or too chewy. The chewiness is actually quite enjoyable since it gives the whole dessert more textures. It melts quite fast, so you gotta eat it quick!I will definitely be returning to try their oolong soft serve or maybe some of their drinks. More...

I'm really picky about desserts, but Bar Pa Tea did not disappoint. I tried both the bubble tea and the soft serve  and both were amazing. Rich legit tea flavor, sweet, creamy and super soft chewy boba. If you only had room for one thing I would go with the soft serve and you have the option of small or big boba or a mix of both. The shop itself is cozy and has some cute decor, a great place to catch up over some yumminess. More...

Really good ice cream here that are bubble tea flavored with very interesting toppings! But even if you just get the ice cream on its own, it's still really yummy. Just the right amount of tea and sweetness. Definitely recommend this place to everyone! More...

My husband & I love this place! We always get the black tea soft serve, with little boba on the bottom. There are a few other options for toppings like Oreo crumbs, a small biscuit, but it is so perfect on its own! If you like milk tea you'll enjoy this place! Only negative is that the shop is quite small with a few stools on the wall, a bench, and 2 tables, and the line can get long out the door, so be prepared to be in a strangers personal space. This place smells amazing. I wish my whole house can smell like this. The scent of milk tea is intoxicating and their product is just as good as it smells. My friend took us here after dinner as he is a HUGE fan of their tea flavored ice creams. We had the black tea (with pumpkin) and it was definitely an interesting mix. The small bubbles on top are also a good combo. This place definitely has a niche and they fill it well. Excellent tea-flavored ice cream! More...

I love Bar Pa Tea! It's a small shop but for $5.50 you can get the tastiest soft serve in either black tea, oolong tea (or both swirled) with either small or large bubbles (or both). I come here often because you can't beat the price and quality of their soft serve or the boba! Also, they have special times when they infuse the black tea with other flavors so in October their black tea soft serve is also infused with pumpkin, which is absolutely delicious! My boyfriend also loves their drinks, which are also reasonably priced too! More...

This is possibly the BEST bubble tea and bubble ice cream place to go. I'd say the Oreos milkshake with bubbles at the bottom in your one of my favorites. If you get bubble tea with The Sosta (really close to Bar Pa Tea) it makes one of the best meals. Bubble tea goes well with anything ice cream, dumplings, pasta you name it bubble tea is good with it. It is usually packed so it is hard to get in. There are a few places that show Bar Pa Tea on there map. Including Milk Bar! If I were to eat one bubble tea brand for the rest of my life it would be Bar Pa Tea. More...

Bar Pa Tea- I love it! Not just for their bubble tea but mainly because of their tea flavored soft serve with bubbles. Where else can you get that?Bar Pa Tea is really popular and there is always a line. The cafe is small with just two tables, some bar stools, and a bench. Good luck on getting a space to sit. People love lounging here and taking their Instagram shots.I have tried their bubble tea and it is very strong. High in caffeine too so if you are sensitive to caffeine, be warned. The matcha lemonade is refreshing but also strong. Really, Bar Pa Tea is not for the faint of heart. But if you just want something like ice cream then I highly recommend their soft serve. Its the perfect sized serving, delicious, different, and oh so cute.I'd like to add that the artwork in the cafe is cool and the owners are very nice. They have a lot of pride in their tea choices and work hard to bring innovative bubble tea drinks to their customers. More...

Recommend to try their bobas. It's really rare to find the small boba in nyc and also they cook it really well. It's chewy from inside out and unlike some other stores will cook it very mushy. The ice cream has rich tea flavors so if you like tea I'd definitely suggest trying that More...

This is definitely my new go-to place for when I'm craving boba! I've always heard really great things about the place and I can attest that it's really as good as people say. The prices are a bit high (4.50-8.00) for a drink with boba or a soft serve but the soft, chewy boba and strong tea flavors are of really top notch quality for a treat every once in a while. I would argue that the boba is just as good as the ones I've had in Taiwan and the tea is not diluted like most other bubble tea shops. Plus the soft serve is a fun twist on your typical milk tea! When I heard there was a place serving bubble tea soft serve, I pictured in my head what it would taste like in an ideal world--and Bar Pa Tea completely made it come true! One fun thing about the bubble tea soft serve is that there are a lot of customization options:+ FLAVOR: Black tea, oolong tea, or swirl! Both flavors are super yummy--the black tea is more mild and the oolong is sweeter--and the swirl just perfectly mixes the two into one silky smooth flavor that's deliciously packed with tea flavor and a good balance of earthiness and sweetness.+ TOPPINGS: Big bubbles, mini bubbles, or both!BOTH of course! Both types of boba were really fresh and chewy--the mini boba freezes easier though after it's been sitting on the soft serve for a while and then it becomes more crunchy than chewy, which I don't really like... so, eat quickly for maximum mini boba chewiness! There are other toppings as well (i.e. Oreo cookie crumble), but so far I've only sprung for the bubbles, which they make fresh every two hours. + LOCATION OF TOPPINGS: Top, bottom... or both!I love that both is always an option! So far I've only done bubbles on top because I imagine the bubbles would freeze much faster when buried at the bottom of a cold pile of soft serve. There are a couple of promotions that they offer:+ Text the code on your coupon to the number listed to earn rewards (or earn points automatically if you have the Clover app). It's 1 point per item ordered and 8 points will get you a free medium drink or soft serve (topping included)+ Free item on your birthday+ 10% off your first order (through the app) More...

Bar Pa Tea has great boba/milk tea. I got the iced matcha latte mini bubbles and oat milk. Yay for vegan. I liked it because it had a strong matcha flavour and the mini bubbles were not gigantic pearls that filled my mouth with every sip. Aesthetically, the drinks are pretty. The staff does a great job of colour blocking the drinks, contrasting the different colours of the drink. Unfortunately the soft-serve contains dairy so no bueno for vegans or lactose intolerants. They have a pretty good selection of drinks but not so many that it is overwhelming like other boba places.I definitely recommend trying Bar Pa Tea if you are a fan of boba. This place is AMAZING! I love all their flavors especially the oolong soft serve! I had bubbles and Oreo crumbs on top and it was delicious and perfectly made! The soft serve was packed with tea flavor without it being too overwhelming, which was great. The workers here were all so friendly and helpful, and the store was so pretty. I will definitely come back to try out more of their drinks and definitely eat more of that soft serve ice cream! Don't sleep on this place!! More...

As everyone else has been saying, the portions are a bit small and expensive, but there's quality in the flavor of the soft serve and the tea. I got the swirled soft serve with large and small boba. My friend got the oolong matcha drink. She said it was good, but then she mixed the drink and the flavor got lost. The boba was perfectly sweet and chewy. The location is a bit small and can get crowded. Card friendly. More...

Went in when it just opened in the morning but had a huge group in front of us. Luckily, the store served them really quickly so we didn't wait too long. This place brewed their tea really well. The bubbles were very tasty too! Matcha green tea is not the powder type so it was too light. More...

All I have to say is: WOW. This place floored me. First off, I am not the biggest connoisseur of bubble tea. Among the big boba chains like Gong Cha, Kung-Fu Tea, and Chatime, I'm largely indifferent. They all kind of seem the same. I like bubble tea, but it's not something I drink very often.Into this picture stepped Bar Pa Tea. I came here with a good friend while we were exploring downtown. The Fresh Grapefruit Yakult (with boba) drink blew me away! It was sweet with a hint of tartness, and very refreshing. It is on the sweeter side, but I have a sweet tooth so not complaining. I also tasted my friend's Matcha Green Tea with boba, and it was also very delicious. I love the boba at this place because it is just a little bit chewy and sweet, not at all soggy. We also shared the Oolong tea ice cream with boba. I've never thought to pair soft serve with boba before, but it works! The sweet boba perfectly complements the subtle, earthy tea flavor of the ice cream. What an experience! I may have to make a special trip downtown just go get some more Bar Pa Tea. More...

The black tea soft serve is worth the trip! It is the perfect blend of tea and cream. The portion is small for the price, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in taste and quality. This is place is close to NYU so while we were there, there was a steady stream of young people. The place is small, so not the best place for a gathering larger than 3-4 people, if you  can get a seat. The bubbles/boba are fresh; I overheard a young woman at the register telling a customer that they make a batch of fresh boba every 38 minutes. So you never have to worry about boba that's been sitting around. Overall great 5 star soft serve but taking off one star due to the tight quarters. More...
