What’s your interior design process?
We always like to meet our clients in their homes for an informal, initial consultation (at no charge). That way, you get to know us and we can learn more about you, your project and how you want to shape your home. From here we will prepare a detailed quotation based on this consultation.
If instructed (and depending on the level of service chosen), we move onto creating mood boards in the first instance, and then floorplans, sample boards with detailed furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) specifications alongside. Scaled drawings can also be provided if required.
Our bespoke end-to-end service includes full project management, so we will source quotes, instruct and manage trade as well as source and manage the purchase, delivery and installation of all FFE right down to the final room staging.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We pride ourselves on our diverse sense of style. Our individual styles are quite different, which means we can cater for a wide range of tastes. As a design duo, we compliment each other well.
Melissa (Baker) describes her style as more traditional with a contemporary edge. Her favourite textile designer is the timeless William Morris, but she also loves the simplicity of Scandinavian design. Her passion is experimenting with pattern and colour. Given the choice she will always go bold!
Becky (Hurst) naturally sways towards Scandinavian and minimalist design pieces. She has a love of raw and natural materials, soft, neutral palettes, clean lines with plenty of texture to keep things cosy. She appreciates how timeless Nordic interiors feel, and finds a sense of beauty in their simplicity. That being said, she does occasionally chuck in a bold colour and some bright abstract art for good measure!
What do you love most about your job?
We love the diversity of our job as interior designers. No project or client is the same. Every project we take on fills us with immense excitement and passion to be creative. We could be running a period project alongside a contemporary home, high allows us to enjoy all the different aspects of design.
We’re continuously creating something new over and over again. We feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to make our clients houses into homes for them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It’s probably down to being at similar turning points in our lives. We both quit our demanding jobs in London to start up our business, in the hope of persuing a more meaningful career and to spend more time with our young families.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are friendly, approachable, down-to-earth, and we don’t judge. Our mission is to create beautiful and functional spaces for our clients. We will always bring our clients on the interior design journey will us and they will always be at the centre of every decision. We want to make your home a place you will never want to leave.
