Michael was really responsive over email and was able to get guests at our wedding up and dancing for most of the night, which was great! A few notes about why we gave his professionalism a 3-star rating. We requested his live guitar service for dinner time, but the volume was so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you talking and he didn't seem to want to turn it down. He finally did but only after 2 people, 1 being the Mother of the Bride, asked him to. The other reason for our rating was that a few weeks before the wedding, Michael emailed to suggest changing the order of the Parent Dance and Couple First Dance since we discussed having guests join in after the first minute of the First Dance. We agreed to do so, but that night, his notes still had the original order and he began to play the Couple First Dance song. No big deal! Except when my husband and I, with our Month of Coordinator, went up to clarify after the first 20 seconds of the song playing, he seemed irritated and reluctant to switch the order and kept pointing back at what his notes had. Other than those hiccups, Michael was good at reading the room and was sure to play a "break" song to clear the dance floor and give people a chance to recover from all the dancing. More...

Amazing DJ! Seriously, top notch and clearly practiced at the wedding chaos! Michael was so impressive and thoughtful. I was so hurt by this DJ. The communication was poor. It will forever be a sore spot for my special day, he was very disappointing. The bagpiping was a nice addition, many guests enjoyed it. Our sincere thanks to him for standing in the very cold weather in his kilt. As far as the playlist, my fault for not pushing back more when he kept saying everything looked great without any questions. It was confusing because he initially said we should build the playlist ourselves if we wanted to specify all the songs for the evening. He then said that wasn’t necessary, but the playlist that we spent hours compiling wasn’t played. We would have been receptive to more of an open dialogue on what he thought would work best. Instead it felt like he disregarded what we asked for and just played a bulk of song that he felt like playing. We had made a list of songs for dinner time that we loved and he played other songs, including songs I hated. What was wrong with what we requested?? During the reception he showed that he had built what appeared to be our whole requested playlist. What doesn’t make sense is why he played so little of it and why he didn’t communicate with us more if he wasn’t going to play more of it.Were we supposed to go up and request songs that we did want to hear one by one? Our guests did enjoy dancing to what he played. Michael knew how to keep the party going at the reception. There was never a lull. The dance floor was always full with guests laughing and dancing their hearts out! We didn't actually get Michael we had Alex do our wedding. The bagpipes really set the scene for our handfast wedding ceremony. I was obviously late like most brides and he kept playing the prelude song every 10 minutes till we walked over. It made the ceremony seem almost surreal. If you want something different and enchanting in your ceremony this is the guy for the job. I can't speak on dj part as Alex doesn't dj and Michael had a family matter to attend to.
