Literally the only stylist who got my hair right in 10 years! Starr really listened to me and took my hair structure into account in recommending a style that I LOVE! I went to 3 other local stylist, and countless more before that, before Starr finally hit on a great style that I can manage myself. I get it every time now! I love it. This is a long overdue review of the amazing artist, Star - owner of Bada Bing Salon in Benicia.  My daughter found Star based on Yelp reviews a few years ago. ..we took a leap of faith (or rather faith in Yelp) and went to see her.  So glad we did!  The salon is up a flight of stairs in lovely space that is full of natural light - with soaring ceilings.  Star has worked magic with my thin hair - giving it body and oomph where I thought it was a lost cause.  I'm now at a point that I just tell her to do whatever she likes, because I trust she will add flair and style to my hair style.  My daughter has thick, full body, long hair that Star colors, tames and keeps healthy. First I must say I'm not a big Yelper, However I must tell the world how amazing Bada Bing is!  All my life I've had the craziest kinky/ curly/ frizzy hair that I've had to wrestle with every day of my life.  To give you an idea I usually wake up in the morning looking like Don King's hair due to the point where I shock myself when I look in the mirror in the morning.  I was getting a cut and color by Starr and she suggested I  should try a Brazilian blowout.  Let me just say it's been a life changing experience!  I no longer dread my hair and it's so soft and manageable.  I never imagined having great hair a possibility!  Starr is amazing! Lindsay is a talent who really knows her craft. I have, for more years than I'll admit, struggled to find a stylist who knows how to cut long, thick, mixed-curl/wave/some parts strait, in other words. ..hair that has no clue WHAT it wants to be! I've had stylists turn me away but Lindsay had the confidence and patience to work with this ridiculous thing on my head and thank God...I no longer scare small children and dogs. Well done Lindsay!She knew how to layer my hair, a term that usually induces a fit of anxiety as past "layering" has made me look like I'm wearing a pyramid made of hay on my head or several layers that stand apart from the rest like chunks cut out. But now my hair has been easy to manage and style, something I admittedly don't like to spend a lot of time with. I'm wash and wear! Me! Wash and wear!! Also, her coloring skills are second to none. In fact, at nine weeks, and my hair grows fast, one has to really look for roots it blends so well. Starr is absolutely THE BEST. She keeps up with the latest trends on hair with continued education and always does a fantastic job. I went to her for years while I lived in California and always walked out of the salon feeling and looking fabulous. I would recommend her to anyone 10 times over! For years I have been going to Berkeley for my hair cut and I just got tired of going back and forth so I needed a new "local" hairdresser. I check on yelp and found Bada Bing. I was in desperate need of a cut, needless to say, my hair was a total mess so I made an appointment with Starr.She spent  the first 10 minutes just trying to figure out a style for me and then went to work. Star helped me transition to my natural gray a few years ago and it was much easier than I anticipated. I have beautiful silver highlights and I'm always playing with different styles. Star asks questions to make sure we're on the same page and makes suggestions based on my type of hair. Nikki Helms has been my hairdresser over a year now. Can't sing her praises enough! I am a free spirit when it comes to my hair, and tire with same 'ol same 'ol after a bit. I trust Nikki enough to say, 'do what you will' with cut and/color. Her style creativity and artfulness with color have me walk out with hair that is comment worthy every time. Starr has created a salon environment that is esthetic and calm, greatly preferred by me to the loud cacophony of larger salons. Desperate to have an awkward haircut "fixed", I read some Yelp reviews and placed a call to the Bada Bing Salon. Luckily, I was able to get a same-day appointment with Nikki Helms. After listening to me describe what I liked and disliked about my cut, and showing her a photo, she worked her magic and not only fixed my funky cut, but created an adorable new look for me. I was very pleased with my experience at Bada Bing and the excellent service by Stylist Tannika.  I came in to pick up and get styled with my custom wig. During the time, I was battling Ovarian Cancer and the embarrassment of my hair loss was overwhelming .  I didn't want anyone to see me in public especially at a hair shop. Upon arriving at the shop,  I was greeted by the most friendly staff who made me feel so comfortable.  Upon Tannika coming out to receive me, she led me to her station which was very clean and relaxing. She invited me to go to a private area in the shop but I felt comfortable in her immaculate  station. Tannika took great care of me as I unveiled my clean shaven head. She fitted and styled the custom wig she created for me. The wig was beautiful and appeared like it was my own hair. I would recommend anyone to Tannika as she pays attention to her customers desires. I enjoyed the care I received and the kindness of everyone in the shop.  I would give a 10 star if I could but only 5 stars are allowed. More...

I was referred to Bada Bing from a friend, and I am so happy I took the chance on trying Starr out. I have long frizzy hair that, it has seemed, nobody has known how to cut or color.  Starr knew exactly how to cut my hair type and most importantly color it! I dont know why, but my hair pulls orange and brassy colors. Starr's coloring skills are AMAZING. Not only does she just do a perfect job, but she will tell me when what I want, wont work with my skin tone, etc. Starr is an artist. I give her 5 starr's ;-) She is talented, professional and I always feel more than pleased with her services. The salon also has a great vibe; very positive. I always leave feeling refreshed and beautiful! I rated the salon as pricey, but YOUR GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Worth every penny!
