How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
All garages are suitable assuming there are no covenants on your property. You don't need building permission but you will need building control to ensure the works are carried out to current regulations. Building control will visit at key stages to ensure building practices are correct. Once the works are complete you will get a certificate from building control for your records in case you want to sell the property in the future.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
We first come to survey the garage and provide a quotation. If you choose us to carry out your works we remove the front garage door and brick up the front using matching brickwork or render, install a new window to match the existing windows, install a new window sill, install a new insulated floor to match the floor heights of the main property, insulate the walls and ceilings, first fix the plumbing and electrics to suit your needs, create a new door opening from the garage into your property, plasterboard all walls and ceilings, plaster all the walls and ceiling flat, second fix the plumbing and electrics, install new skirting boards and architraves, install a new matching internal door and door furniture and then we can either decorate or if you prefer to decorate that no problem. A single garage conversion takes approx 2 weeks from start to finish and will cost approx. £7000 plus vat for a single garage conversion.
