Damien led 8 weeks of street dance for NHS staff in St Thomas' Hospital, and he was an absolute inspiration. Staff arriving tired, stressed-out/burnt-out, finished the hour with smiles on their faces, uplifted and feeling good. He is just an inspirational teacher - he puts everyone at ease, empowers them and makes them laugh, and he's the perfect choice for a healthcare setting. We at Breathe Arts Health Research can't wait to work with Damien again, can't recommend him highly enough! More...

Event Entertainment

I planned a large garden party for children and adults of all ages.
I wanted to make sure there was something for everyone and we had abut 15 children between 2 and 9 years old. I asked B-Better for some ideas for this group. Damien and his team were just great, their energy and passion was an inspiration. The session started with a class for the children and then the children put on a delightful performance for everyone. It was just a joy for us all. Thank you Damien, Conor and Ellie. You helped make the day a great success. More...

She says "it's fun and cool, Damien is great and I love dancing!". They do freestyle and choregraphy, they explore so many ways of moving to find their own style, they work hard and love it! But it's not only about dance, there's this family-friendly feeling that Damien brings to it like no one. More...

It's been four years I started street dancing with B-better and I am still looking forward to the next season! Damien is a genuinely great teacher, able to make everyone dance, from complete beginners to professional dancers! Damien and his crew will give you all the tools you need to evolve as a complete artist: you'll learn the basic and not-so-basic vocab of any street dance style you could possibly imagine, you'll improve your coordination and expressivity with fun, challenging choreos and you will explore who YOU truly are as a dancer through many freestyle exercises. With B-better I have explored so many styles such as hip-hop, house, popping, hustle, breakin', lite feet, shway, voguing and so much more! On top of this, classes always take place in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere... But don't be fooled, you will work hard and sweat!! So my only advice for any dancers or future dancers in London still hesitating: come try it out, you won't regret it More...

Met Damien about a year ago. Damien is amazing at breaking down hip hop social dances, teaching the history of the dance steps, bringing them into the context of a social scenario and showing how you can variate them. He is adept at both freestyle and choreography, and in class you learn both. I came to Damien not being able to dance and nearly a year later I'm about to join a 3 year pro training course at the Justedebout School. Not only has Damien taught me, he has also introduced me to other great dancers and dance events in the UK scene. He has not only been a teacher, but also someone I can turn towards when I need advice and guidance. I can honestly say that meeting him has changed my life. I love going to Oldway Vogue classes with DivaD. She is a very warm and welcoming teacher who makes the classes really fun. She encourages us to do our best and is really good at pinpointing any mistakes we make and showing us how to correct them which I find so useful. The classes offer the opportunity to learn some choreography but also freestyle so we can work on our own styles or just get used to performing. The classroom environment is very freeing and inclusive of all levels which as a beginner I really love. I really look forward to my Monday nights with DivaD ^.^ More...

As well as technique, you'll get history of the style and current info on events happening in the vogue scene. Oh and she always plays the best tracks for the warm up and puts a smile on my face. Been attending Diva D' Old way Vogue classes almost from the very beginning and I can't imagine starting my week without it.
She's super friendly, funny and lovely and not only does she teaches us a variety of moves and choreographies but she also gives us information on the history of the genre.
The class is very inclusive and friendly for all levels as she always gives alternatives if people are having difficulties with a particular movement.
The choreographies are very throughly broken down so you get the opportunity to properly learn all the movements as opposed to having to rush through it as it happens in so many classes. We also get improvisation and freestyle time where we can put everything we learn to practice. These aren't compulsory though, so if people don't feel comfortable or prepared to do it they're welcome to just watch.
All and in all, the best way to beat your Monday blues and face the rest of the week with style and grace!!

Been attending Diva D´s Vogue Old Way class since last January and my experience couldn´t have been better. The classes are not only productive regarding your dance skills but also great fun.

I found the way of teaching completely suitable to any level you might have. When I began the course, Diva was teaching the same way that she does now, but giving the beginners different steps if some of them became too complicated for us. Now that we are more used to some of the steps, she makes us focus in doing those in a more clean/precise way.

Also, one of the things I value the most is that, in a personal way, this classes have increased my self-confidence a lot. Sometimes Diva makes us improvise or show some of the steps either one-by-one or two-by-two. First days it was scary, and we could choose if we wanted to participate or not, but forcing myself to do it and beat that "embarrasment of the beginner" made me loose all fear.

On top of all this, the studio is really great and never too busy, so we always have our own space to perform our moves in the best way.

It is absolutely worth it, best plan for a Monday evening!

The BEST hip hop dance school in the world if you ask me!
Damien's classes are all about musicality; he teaches you to listen out for the different instruments in a song and dance to them with different body parts. He teaches hip hop fundamentals to enable you to freestyle and dance to any song, not simply regurgitate choreography to a specific song (which seems to be the formula at most other adult dance classes in London). Occasionally, he'll teach choreo, and they are eye-wateringly BEAUTIFUL, I cannot handle. Even in choreo, he usually incorporates a bit of freestyling so students can add their own touches. More...

Divad is a brilliant teacher - Her classes are for everyone, no matter if it's your first class or if you've been voguing for years. She is, as far as I know, the only person who teaches Old Way Vogue in the UK and few people match her knowledge of the history of ballroom culture. Apart from being incredibly talented at what she does, she is also a really lovely person and classes are always a lot of fun.

I recommend this class to everyone who wants to learn about Vogue and ballroom culture. Don't expect to be an amazing voguer after one class because nobody is brilliant at anything straight away, but if you have some patience with it, you'll get better!

We love to share the energy of the street-style dances through performance, education or interaction.

As a teenager I wasn't a very capable dancer at all, and discovering dance later in life I grew to fully appreciate that I can't have been the only person with struggles. Organically, I began teaching (to help others overcome what I struggled with) and performing (to make dance accessible to all).
